At Rivergum Christian College, we are passionate and deliberate about preparing students to enter adulthood with a sound basis of Biblical truth. We aim to foster a love of learning, not only for academia but also for all living areas. Our students will know that everyone is created in the image of God, and as such, He is our hope. They will know that each person they meet deserves respect, grace, compassion, and love without compromising God's word.

We desire to help families nurture and raise servant-hearted future leaders whose success measurement is how well they use their God-given gifts, skills, and abilities. We believe this is best achieved in committed partnerships with families, and because we are becoming an F-12 College, those relationships will become strong lasting bonds.

Rivergum Christian College is a place where creativity and different learning styles and abilities are embraced and catered for in an environment of inquiry and academic rigor. Our staff is very carefully chosen professionals with a strong Christian commitment to educating and equipping the whole child physically, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually.

Our beliefs about our Christian faith and life are not held independently of the life we live but provide an excellent framework that helps us confidently navigate life's challenges. Rather than being reduced to a set of rules, rituals, and ceremonies, our faith provides us with a perspective on truth and history, as well as a set of morals and values to base our social and individual relationships.

OUR VISION Educating on the foundation of truth – with integrity – in the community. OUR MISSION:

  •  To strive for the highest level of achievement in children's general education and training using a curriculum based on the Bible and Christian principles.
  •  To encourage children attending the school to revere God, honor their parents, and live righteously and by Biblical principles of conduct and citizenship.
  •  To provide an environment in which each child can come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, be encouraged in growing toward Christian maturity, and receive a grounding in the essentials of effective Christian witness.
  •  To emphasize the individuality of the person and assist each child in arriving at a realistic self-image as part of God's family and man's community.
  •  To encourage the development of the academic and creative potential of each individual.
  •  To promote self-discipline, responsibility, and self-motivation.
  •  To help develop each child's personality, emphasizing those attitudes and characteristics makes meaningful human relationships, and successful socialization.
  •  To lay a Biblical foundation upon which the discernment and judgment of contemporary issues can be based.

Rivergum Christian College began with an idea in 1981 to establish a Christian school in the Riverland. Its original steering committee intended it to be a low fee, parent-controlled Christian school with a commitment to inspire students to live upright lives, be people of excellent character, and give high regard to learning and living disciplines. This intention continues today.

After an involved planning process and some fantastic assistance from volunteers, Riverland Christian School opened in 1986 with its mandate 'to honor God by educating children under the Lordship of Christ. Over the years, the school has grown and changed significantly, with successive Principals, board members, and families shaping and building a strong community of faith and learning.
