The History of the School. In 1997, the artist and fashion designer Giedrė Fledžinskienė, with 30 years of pedagogical and creative experience, founded the Giedrė Fledžinskienė Higher School of Arts that trained fashion designers and theatrical make-up specialists. In 2005 the school was awarded official status as a college and was renamed Vilnius College of Design.
On July 2, 2009, the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education and the Council for Quality Assessment in Science and Educational Institutions completed the Vilnius College of Design assessment and gave a positive rating to its activities and granted permission to award professional bachelor's degrees. Successful graduates are awarded a professional bachelor's degree. Community. Currently, the Vilnius College of Design consists of 500 students and 60 staff members.
