We are a co-educational primary and secondary school Foundation-Year 10. We are a small school of approx. Seventy students are located in North Hobart. At Lambert School, we work hard to nurture the skills and attributes that underpin lifelong learning. We aim to provide quality teaching and learning opportunities for all children to become successful learners, confident & creative individuals, and active & informed citizens. He aims of education at Lambert School to develop reflective, creative, and responsible thought and the creation of lifelong learners. It is vital to the School that what is taught and how it is taught should inspire the students to value themselves, recognize, accept and develop their gifts and talents, and encourage others to do the same. Learning at Lambert School focuses on methods that support student engagement through:

  • collaborative teamwork
  • communication
  • problem-solving
  • creating and expression through multiple modes
  • making connections.

Lambert Schools' teaching and learning philosophy is continually reshaped by current research on effective pedagogy practices in teaching and learning. Staff and students build relationships to promote a learning environment cultivating confidence, communication, and mutual respect. Students are encouraged to develop positive relationships between students, staff, community, and the environment. All students are encouraged and supported, so they remain motivated, ambitious, and achieve to the best of their ability. Teachers engage students to develop a passion for life-long learning through encouraging, challenging with support, and guiding them. We strive to prepare students for life's journey by developing a sense of meaning and purpose, responsible decision making, developing resilience, and resourcefulness for adaptability.

We aim to provide Quality Teaching and Learning opportunities for all children to become successful learners, confident & creative individuals, and active & informed citizens. Lambert School builds a sense of community, identity, and belonging that provides a positive, safe environment for quality learning.

The educational program and learning experiences at Lambert School is guided by the goals set out in the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians (MCEETYA 2008) that all young people in Australia are supported to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. The Curriculum at Lambert School is based on The Australian Curriculum, covering the knowledge, understanding, skills, and general capabilities critical to all learners. The three cross-curriculum priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia, and Sustainability are embedded in all learning areas. Our Curriculum is coherent, sequenced, and documented from years Foundation- Year 10 and provides learning experiences accessible for all students and their learning needs.
