Our classroom leaders do. UW–Green Bay faculty members are known as sensational teachers, researchers, authors, and mentors. Many have received national and regional teaching awards. Most importantly, they involve you in high impact practices (research, case studies, travel, etc.), engaging you in real-world issues. Never attended college? You are considered a freshman student. High school students who have completed college credit while completing high school are also considered first-year students. On-campus, every day is different from the last. From the people you meet to the conversations you have, it is always new and exciting to the way you look at life. Opportunities surround you, and the possibilities are endless. At UWGB, thousands of students compete in intramural sports, go to concerts, or volunteer in the community, and the list goes on.
The Academic Advising Office provides personalized developmental advising to first-year, new transfer, and undeclared students. Through individual and group sessions, students have access to the support and information needed to help them earn degrees in a timely and cost-effective manner and become influential decision-makers in managing their academic careers.
The Disability Services Office collaborates with students, instructors, and staff to ensure equal educational and programmatic access for eligible students with documented disabilities. We allow students to reach their full potential by creating academic accommodations and support services and promoting independence and self-advocacy. Additionally, we serve as a campus and community resource on post-secondary disability issues.
Individual sessions begin the second or third week of the semester. Peer academic mentors offer one-on-one assistance in a variety of subjects. These students are subject area experts who have completed the course and can answer questions, review course material, prepare for exams, guide the discussion, and provide tips on study strategies.
The Office of Grants and Research (OGR) advises and assists members of the UW-Green Bay Community engaged in scholarly and creative activities. OGR services are similar to those offered by offices of research and sponsored programs at other universities. We provide information, services, and support for UW-Green Bay faculty and staff to successfully compete for external funding to conduct research or complete creative activities. In our role, we are excited to provide the campus with services that build the research infrastructure, support creative endeavors, and build partnerships with community organizations to serve better the UWGB students, the northeastern Wisconsin community, and the more significant research and artistic goals that impact all people.
