The Office of Financial Aid and UTPB awards and processes funds from federal, state, institutional, and private resources. The UTPB Financial Aid Office's philosophy is to assist students and families in meeting the financial need of all eligible applicants by "packaging" (combining) funds from various sources - including institutional and non-institutional funds. Students are encouraged to apply for external federal, state, and local programs to maximize their assistance opportunities.
There is much energy on campus. We want to capture this liveliness inside and outside of the classroom. To do so, we are rolling out two new programs this year, Falcon Faces and Give Us Your Best Shot. Falcon Faces will provide brief information on a student and their involvement on campus. Give Us Your Best Shot allows students to share photos and videos or action on campus. The photos/videos may be used in marketing materials as well as on social media. Students may submit their photos and video clips by using the Falcon Faces template.
All Federal Government agency-sponsored proposals and State and Local Government sponsored proposals should be routed through the ORSP as proposals made to national organizations. All other classifications would typically go through Development, but there is some overlap, and the two offices will work together to identify the correct routing office.
In 1969, the Texas Legislature authorized an upper-level university accepting only junior, senior, and master's degree graduate students as part of an experiment in upper-level education in Odessa, Texas. Construction plans began soon after; however, a series of delays - including a lawsuit challenging the validity of the University's property deeds - halted all work. Finally, after a Supreme Court ruling in the University's favor, the campus construction began in April 1972.
Today, UTPB is a growing and vibrant four-year University serving over 7,000 students from all over the U.S. and world. The campus boasts facilities like a world-class performing arts center, apartment-style campus housing, and over 40 student organizations. Our unique story makes us one of a kind, and together, we are Falcons.
