Education is a transformation. At Gordon, we take it personally. It is our privilege, not just our responsibility, to create unique academic, co-curricular, and relational milestones in our students' lives. The Gordon experience creates a context for knowledge gained, provides opportunities to apply what is learned, and refines a broader purpose—a vocation or calling—in each student's life.
Gordon College strives to graduate men and women distinguished by intellectual maturity and Christian character, committed to service lives and prepared for leadership worldwide.
As an intentional Christian community, Gordon serves students from a wide range of backgrounds who embrace the College's broadly evangelical identity and desire an experience that combines an exceptional liberal arts education with an informed Christian faith. We retain a commitment to integrating faith and learning, a heritage once embraced by many institutions, such as our neighbor in Boston, Harvard University—the first higher learning institution in the United States. Gordon also remains committed to the power of a liberal arts education to hone qualities most sought by employers—the ability to think holistically, reason analytically, communicate persuasively, and—even more importantly—to act morally.
Our primary responsibility is to prepare students for the long haul to make them spiritually, intellectually, relationally, and professionally ready for a lifetime of growth—from the first job out of college and beyond, into fields not yet existing. When individuals are likely to switch occupations (not just employers) throughout a career, a vital liberal arts education offers flexibility and agility. Our mission is the foundation of all we do as we inspire the next generation toward faithful leadership for the common good.
We're a community of scholars and servants, leaders and learners, truth-seekers, and globe-trotters. We have curious minds and compassionate hearts, and we want to change the world. Join us? It starts here. At Gordon—one of the nation's premier Christian colleges, just outside of Boston—you will discover how to lead your life with purpose, worthy of the unique call God has inspired in you.

Studying at Gordon is about preparing to lead your life well. A challenging education within a faith framework offers students the freedom to curiously and courageously wrestle with tough questions, entertain new ideas, seek the truth, and take action.
The journey to personal and professional development begins on day one at Gordon. Over four years, we want students to aim for more than just a job out of College. We want them to discover and pursue their God-given calling. The Career Services Office is here as a guide along the way, helping students bridge their classroom learning to real-world experience to prepare them well for life after graduation.
When studying abroad, you discover a place that follows a different rhythm, and you learn its customs—from kneeling in Franciscan caves on the slope of Monte Subasio, to buying fresh caracoles at the local fish market in Seville, to salsa dancing on the streets of Zagreb during a Cuban festival. Global Education at Gordon is about intentionality and immersion, in connecting to a new community as a participant and not just as an observer.
