You may have heard of some of our famous former students from the acting and sports world who graduated from NPTC Group of Colleges. Michael Sheen is an internationally acclaimed actor starring in recent films such as The Twilight Saga, Alice in Wonderland, and Tron.
    World-class international rugby players Aled Brew, Craig Mitchell, James Hook, Paul James, and Tavis Knoyle were all selected and played for Wales in the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand and studied at our Llandarcy Academy of Sport.
    All our Higher Education courses have been designed with employment and future careers in mind, and we strive to give our graduates the best experience and knowledge to equip them for the working world.
    Class sizes are smaller than at university, enabling you to receive more individual attention and guidance from your tutor.

    Graduation is a special occasion, representing the culmination of all your hard work. It is one of the highlights of the College year, and we look forward to welcoming you, together with your family and friends, to celebrate your success at our 2017 Graduation Ceremonies.
    The libraries are at the heart of college life. We have fully equipped libraries in four of our colleges in Afan, Brecon, Neath, and Newtown. You will find the information, equipment, support, and guidance you need to succeed in your studies in each location.
    All students can receive help from the Study Support Services team. The team will offer a wide range of support that will help students to reach their full potential. The Study, Support Services team will also enable students to access and participate fully in their chosen learning program.
    SpLD Lecturer/Coordinator – assesses students with Specific Learning Difficulties and other Additional Learning Needs, plans Individual Learning Programmes, and supports learners and staff to facilitate success. They also provide the assessment needed to make special exam arrangements.
    Essential Skills & SpLD Co-ordinator – co-ordinates cross College SpLD and Essential Skills student support. Specialist responsibilities include the implementation of BKSB, and later this year, the WEST screening tool. Co-ordinates and delivers Essential Skills provision and support for students to include literacy, numeracy, and ICT. This is a cross-college role.
    Sensory & Assistive Technology Co-ordinator – provides support and strategies for students with sensory needs. Identifies and provides any technical resources or assistive technology required for learning, e.g., specialist software and laptops/iPads. This is a cross-college role.
    Student and Business Services Assistant – a cross-college role – working with front line staff to draw together key aspects of Study Support Services.
    Format Adaptation Services – the College will continue to provide support to all tutors. The printed materials are adapted to meet individual students' needs, like text sizing for visual impairment, color sheets for students with dyslexia, etc. This is a cross-college role.
    Study Skills Coaches – will deliver workshops on all campuses to respond to students' learning needs – develop academic skills, learning strategies, and personal skills to facilitate success – each academic school/campus will have a named study skills coach. The Study Skills coach will work closely with the school management teams, course tutors, and student transition and retention officers. Students will be targeted for attendance at the
    Coaching session. The Study Skills coaches can be contacted on studyskillscoach@nptcgroup.ac.uk, and workshops and drop-in sessions will be advertised using a range of media.
    A team of Study Skills Assistants remain in place across all campuses and are allocated to identify and recognize learning needs (with a Learning and Skills Plan). The team will provide general and in-class support to enable access to learning.
    Students with an additional learning need/disability can access additional support by contacting the Study Support Services Team.
    NPTC Group of Colleges Student Union is for the students, run by the students bridging the gap between students and college management, ensuring their voices are heard at senior level.
    Current SU President Harri Mason-Evans is a current A-Level Applied Business and Welsh Baccalaureate student, the founder, and president of the Colleges' interact club works on numerous projects in the College and still finds time to work part-time as Swimming Teacher and Young Trustee Project Coordinator Neath Port Talbot Children's Rights Unit.
