Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is a transparent, participatory, enterprising university, producing information and technology, contributing to the region's economic, social, and cultural structure. Our Unıversity, which is named after Plevna's hero, Gaziosmanpaşa, was appropriately established by Higher Education Institutions Organization No. 41 of the Decree-Law No. 2809 on the Adoption of Law No. 78 and 190 Decree Law Amendments and Law No. 3837 dated 03.07.1992 under Article.
The name of the university was changed to "Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University" according to Law No. 7141, which became effective on 18th May, "Law on the Amendment of the Law on Higher Education and Certain Laws and Decree Laws" Our university was composed of Faculty of Science and Letters, Niksar Vocational School, Tokat Vocational School, Zile Vocational School, Erbaa Graduate School of Science and Graduate School of Social Sciences and Faculty of Agriculture which was first founded as an addition to Cumhuriyet University on 1st November 1992.
Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, located on Tokat-Turhal highway, continues training programs on Taşlıçiftlik campus which is 9 kms away from the city center, Ali Şevki Erek campus in the city center, Sulusokak Deveciler Hanı and in 8 districts.
In our university, there are Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Health Sciences by organization order. There are Institute School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Institute School of Health Sciences, Institute School of Social Sciences, and Institute of Educational Sciences for graduated students. Education is also provided in School of Physical Education and Sports, School of Foreign Languages, Zile Dinçerler School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Erbaa School of Health, State Conservatory, Niksar School of Applied Sciences, Turhal School of Applied Technology and Business, Vocational School of Justice, Almus Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Artova Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Erbaa Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Erbaa Health Care Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Pazar Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Niksar Technical Sciences Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Niksar Social Sciences Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Reşadiye Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Tokat Technical Sciences Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Tokat Social Sciences Vocational School of Higher Education, Turhal Technical Vocational School of Higher Education, Zile Technical Vocational School of Higher Education and Turhal Health Care Technical Vocational School of Higher Education.
Health services are provided by the Health Research and Application Center, Dentistry, Application, and Research Center, and Palliative Care Research and Application Center. Agricultural Research and Application Center also contributes to agricultural education, research, and service applications. The number of the students is 34.747 by the 2017-2018 academic year. There are 113 programs in associate, 73 in undergraduate, 47 in masters, and 21 in doctorate education programs. The number of academic staff is 1228; the administrative staff is 1067.
The academic year consists of 2 semesters, and summer school is available in all faculties, schools, and vocational schools. In Taşlıçiftlik campus, there are Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Divinity, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Science, Graduate School of Social Sciences, Graduate School of Educational Sciences, School of Physical Education and Sports, School of Foreign Languages, Tokat Vocational School of Technical Sciences, Tokat Vocational School of Social Sciences and Research and Application Centers. In Ali Şevki Erek Campus in the city center, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Health Research and Application Center, Graduate School of Health Sciences, Dentistry Application and Research Center. State Conservatory is in historical Deveciler Hanı in Sulusokak. Vocational Schools in districts have campuses.
