Erciyes University was established under the name of Kayseri University in 1978. Never Nesibe School of Medicine, which was established as an affiliate of Hacettepe University, Ankara, in 1968, and Kayseri Faculty of Business Administration, founded in 1977, constituted the core of Erciyes University.
Our university, which is one of the ten research universities in Turkey, is among one of the higher education institutions continually rising not only with educational and research opportunities but also with scientific studies.
Being the largest university in Anatolia except for Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, Erciyes University completed its educational and research infrastructure many years ago.
Scientific studies are performed in every field from vaccine development, drug researches, nanotechnology, stem cell, energy systems to agriculture in 39 research centers within our university.
Paying attention to historical and cultural studies in Kayseri, a Seljuk city, our university has been conducting activities worthy of the name of "Makarr-ı Ulema."
Placing itself on a permanent scale in the first 10 and 5 according to Turkey's achievement ranking, our university is among the first 500-1000 in international university rankings.
Our university's target is to enhance the success diagram further and contribute to 2023, 2053, and 2071 targets with its knowledge and projects produced.
We should never forget that universities are educational institutions and innovative centers of knowledge together with the cities they are situated and with the studies&researches towards the development and contribution of the region and country.

Erciyes University offers degree programs to approximately 51.000 students and employs nearly 2300 academic staff.
Graduate degree programs at Erciyes University became more recognizable, especially after 1984. There are almost 6.000 master degree students in total and nearly 1.700 Ph.D. students in total studying at graduate schools at the following graduate schools: Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History, Educational Sciences, Fine Arts, Never Nesibe Genome and Stem Cell, Health Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences.
ERU enables integration in its vicinity by offering educational, research, and health services. The benefactors ensured the construction of a considerable part of infrastructure and service buildings in the city. After all furnishings and installations were completed, these buildings were donated to our university. Such an application has constituted a brand-new model for our country. The university has made progress in the direction of a center of excellence due to the developments in recent years. By reassuring and encouraging hope, ERU has caused an image called "Our University" to appear in society.
