    The Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan (MNS-UAM) is located on Old Shujabad Road, Multan. It was established in 2012 and has been recognized by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. Multan is famous for the production of cotton and export mango. Furthermore, the soil and environmental conditions of this area are also suitable for growing many other crops. Southern Punjab was lacking a full-fledged agricultural University and to address this problem, the Chief Minister of Punjab announced the establishment of the Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Mulan (MNS-UAM) on 31st July 2012. The University is currently performing its academic activities in a building located on Old Shujabad Road, Multan
    The University has acquired qualified and dedicated faculty to provide maximum facilities of research to its students. To provide practical training facilities, the University is utilizing the services of different agricultural institutes located in Multan like Soil and Water Testing Laboratory, Mango Research Institute (MRI), Cotton Research Station (CRS), Pesticide Quality Control Laboratory, and Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI).
    The University has a total area of 680 acres located in two places. A piece of land comprising of 180 acres is allocated at Mouza Rangeel Pur, Old Shujabad Road, Multan, where the main campus of the University is located and another piece comprising 500 acres is allotted at Jalalpur Pirwala for agriculture farm. In the future, the emphasis would be on healthy and viable seed production, breeding high yielding crop varieties, development of model agriculture farms, integrated pest management strategies, drip irrigation system, tunnel farming, agro-forestry, pre and post-harvest technology of crops, fruits, and fish farming, etc.
    The University had successfully, conducted ” Cotton Seminar & Kisan Mela” and ” Mango Seminar” recently which have given a very positive message to the farming community of the region. It can be said that with the presence of MNS-UAM in the region, there will be a very positive impact on the agriculture of this region and the other parts of the country will also get equal benefits from research conducted under the umbrella of this University.
    Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan is a chartered and fast-growing agriculture University. This university is envisioned to “provide systems and leadership in professional learning, research, and outreach to promote agricultural production, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and community service” to meet its mission of “food security and knowledge economy through intellectual and social transformation”. The faculty in the University is highly qualified, hardworking, and dedicated to mentoring the students for professional learning, social skills, and entrepreneurship. The University is housed in a large agricultural complex of provincial agricultural research, extension, and services institutes/stations/offices. Capitalizing on the strength, our approach is to groom the students with hands-on training, solution-oriented research, out of box thinking for innovations and entrepreneurship. The University is offering twenty-degree programs, which are bound to expand with enrollment growth and diversification of academic programs. Currently, about 2000 students are enrolled in the University and two sessions have passed out, which are already doing jobs in the market.
    MNS-UAM was established in 2012 and mandated to play a leading role in the development and expansion of opportunities for higher education in Agriculture, training, research, and support for innovative approaches for the development of humanity.
    University remains committed to its vision of becoming a dynamic epicenter of excellence in training and research for service to humanity. In an endeavor towards the realization of this vision, MNS-UAM has developed a strategic plan that outlines specific directions by providing a clear focus on defined priorities and strategies to achieve them.
