The University of Liechtenstein is a leading university in the international Lake Constance region. It is a place for personal development, interaction, critical and creative thought, and a hub of innovation for shaping the future. It has an excellent reputation and an outstanding network of contacts. Education and research meet the highest international standards.

The University of Liechtenstein is defined by entrepreneurial leadership applied to all levels and areas. The University of Liechtenstein prepares its students to take on leading roles in government and society, politics and business, culture, and academia. We support talented, motivated, and independent young people in their personal growth.
We educate highly qualified professionals to the benefit of Liechtenstein, the surrounding region, and the international sphere. Our firm believes that, besides the ability to think analytically and creatively, our graduates should also improve their communicative competence and acquire skills beyond their specialist knowledge. This is why we supplement our study programs with courses in the humanities and social sciences to apply their specific expertise to broader cultural and social contexts.

Our research focusses on the two disciplines of Architecture and Planning and Business Economics. We concentrate on selected priority areas of research that are developed in our institutes and centers. We adapt swiftly and flexibly to developments in research and the needs of the employment market. This is essential in order to attract outstanding international students and top researchers to our University.
We ensure that the education we offer – both in terms of content and didactics – continues to reflect the latest research findings. The quality of our curricula is regularly assessed and improved.

Research at the Institute of Architecture and Planning is concerned with sustainable building culture and spatial development both in the region and across the world. In Business Economics, we examine topics of international interest and regional significance. Our research results achieve great international recognition. We use our high standards of quality in education and research to expand our continuing education programs in close cooperation with business and the professional world.

The mutual transfer of knowledge between research and practice sharpens Liechtenstein's competitive edge as a hub for business, academia, and culture.

By implementing our academic mission systematically and consistently, we not only raise the reputation of the University of Liechtenstein but also of the Principality of Liechtenstein on both a regional and international scale.
The University of Liechtenstein fulfills both its educational mandate and its crucial task of ensuring the personal development of talented and motivated young people with proven judgment skills and decision-making ability, preparing them for leading positions in government and society, in politics and business, and culture and academia. We provide our students with the ability to act responsibly to shape the world we live in today and the future.
We are committed to academic values, in particular the freedom of education and research, the quest for truth and objectivity, legitimacy and integrity, collegiality, and team spirit. Equally, we advocate social values, in particular human dignity and tolerance, solidarity and prosperity, equality, and justice. These values are fundamental to the academic culture of our alma mater and our behavior.

In our studies, our professions and our private lives, we encourage inclusive, sensitive and critical thinking, ethical attitudes and moral actions, responsibility for one's actions, entrepreneurial spirit, and a willingness to enter into dialogue with an open mind.

We call for active advocacy of fundamental values of community life, in particular the common good, sustainability and participation of the individual, gender equality, equal opportunity irrespective of origin or religion, and equality for disabled and non-disabled people.
All members of the University pay particular attention to personal contact, personal care, and personal support in their professional and collegial dealings.

We think and act in an entrepreneurial way: we take the decisions needed to reach our strategic aims autonomously.
These common aims and necessary attitudes are reflected across the entire University and its fields of activity, i.e., teaching and learning, research, services, continuing education, and knowledge transfer.
Individual commitment and communal efforts underpin the institution's dynamic development, structures, and organizations.

Our teaching and learning concept follows a holistic educational ideology based on the internationally compatible study model set by the Bologna reform. Using systematic, thematic, and practice-related methods, we impart knowledge and findings adapted to the latest research results.

The content of each study program is geared toward dealing with economic, ecological, and social changes, technological and media-related innovations, the challenges of economic globalization processes, and the demands of intercultural competence.

Incorporated into the degree programs are selected courses in the humanities and social sciences and practice-based projects at all academic levels. These course elements supplement standard teaching practice and provide students with orientation competence, which helps them organize the scope of their knowledge and appreciate its significance and function in a holistically seen and complex world.

Our examinations are demanding, and our assessment criteria re professional and fair. Our research generates new findings and new knowledge. The outcomes enter into international discourse, are included in our teaching and applied to practice. As a result, we play an essential role in ensuring the development of knowledge and business and in advancing society as a whole.

Our research is true to the principles of transparency, verification, reliability, and relevance. For our research profile, we have created academic organizational units and defined particular focus areas. We procure third party funding and, with the support of donors, ensure further growth in education, research, and knowledge transfer.
With our academic achievements, our technical expertise and our strong values, we have a scientific, economic, social and cultural impact not only on the state and people of Liechtenstein but also on Liechtenstein's position in the international community and on the international Lake Constance region as a whole.

Our researchers and institutes work in interdisciplinary teams to address topics of vital interest to Liechtenstein. We are proud that the University of Liechtenstein is recognized as a critical educational institution for the international Lake Constance region and is used as a public venue for people to meet and hold events.
Our attractive and prestigious campus university is compact and convenient in size, with an inspiring learning environment.

Subject-specific qualifications and the development of cultural, social, and cross-curricular skills follow a holistic understanding. By strengthening students' cognitive and emotional skills, all these aspects make an essential contribution to the development of their personality.

We want to empower our students to take responsibility and lead, to embody team spirit and respect others, to reflect and communicate, to recognize problems and search for a consensus, to criticize constructively and practice self-criticism, to be creative and think independently, and to have a sense of justice and right and wrong.
Guided by role models and their own experiences, our students should be liberated and responsible for their actions as they develop their personality, their talents, their thoughts, and their behavior in the context of our university culture.
Our excellent staff-student ratio is one of the great strengths of our University and provides excellent framework conditions for facilitating personality development.

The possibility to combine studies, profession, and family is a commitment to which the University of Liechtenstein has been bound since the founding of its predecessor, the Abendtechnikum, in 1961.

Personality development tools in the form of coaching and mentoring programs have been introduced and offered to all students. Experienced and highly qualified coaches and mentors from among our staff, alumni, and partners in the business world and the arts cooperate in these programs. Coachees and mentees are allocated to supervisors based on the results of suitability diagnostics and information from the students themselves.

An essential element of the University community is formed by our alumni whose international network continues to grow. They seek to maintain relations with their alma mater. However, they also contribute in several ways to the continued development of the University and provide it with considerable support.

We appoint highly motivated top performers to our faculty who exhibit communication and social skills besides outstanding scholarly credentials. Their role in realizing our vision, mission, and policy is decisive.

We offer qualified researchers and junior researchers the incentives, opportunities, and resources to achieve excellence in education and research.

Our local, regional, and global partners in education, research, and, most importantly, in practice, form an important strategic factor for our organizational and financial security.

The Liechtenstein government and authorities, companies, experts, universities, and schools, research institutions, and benefactors act as trustworthy and helpful partners in the dialogue between academia and practice.
Evaluations, benchmarking, and accreditation's ensure that we maintain and raise quality standards in our fields of activity.
