Pakuan University (Unpack) is a continuation of the University of Bogor (Unpack) for almost two decades until 1980. The University of Bogor (Unpack) is an advanced academic program of the Academy of Tourism, PGRI Teachers' Training College, Foreign Language Academy, Academy of International Management Secretary, and the Academy of Islamic Studies at the Institution of Higher Education Foundation Bogor (YPTB).
Based on the Governing Council meeting YKS-PUP dated 23 October 2002, which was confirmed by Deed of NY. Rupiah Nurbaiti, SH . 6 November 2002, YKS-PUP changed its name to Pakuan Siliwangi Foundation (YPS). This new foundation of Kartika Siliwangi Foundation Kartika Siliwangi Foundation in Bandung.
In 2007 it updated its operational permit for implementing the Study Program at Pakuan University by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Higher Education) as many as 24 Programs so that 100% of the Study Program at Pakuan University has an operational permit.
The same year the Directorate General of Higher Education has issued an operating license for the implementation of the New Study Program items, namely Management Studies (S2), Primary Teacher Education (S1), the Financial and Banking Management (D3), Computer Engineering (D3), Information Management (D3). In 2008 the Faculty of Letters opened a new Study that is Communication Science Program (S1). Pakuan University has a Postgraduate Program (S2) with 4 (four) Study Programs: Education Management, Population and Environment Education, Science and Law Master of Management. Bachelor (S1) and Diploma III (D3) programs are incorporated in 6 (six) Faculties, namely: Law, Economics, Teacher Training, and Education, Literature, Engineering and Mathematics, and Natural Sciences.
The symbol of Pakuan University is in the form of an almost uniformly circular rectangle in the which is illustrated: The pyramid of regular or green-colored Meru symbolizes the psychological orientation to "The Highest." A white flower Promontory consisting of 11 flower buds are located above the Meru, showing the month of the founding of Pakuan University in November. The cape's strand is crowned by a flower, which indicates the date of the Pakuan University's founding on the 1st (one) day. Tanjung has the meaning of "always forward," which symbolizes the ideals that all academicians and graduates can boast of Pakuan University. Two green nail sprigs, each stalk is made up of ten nails, right and left of the Meru, the two bases are joined together and bound by four white bands. Both nails are symbols of the inner life.
Two sprigs of nails, each consisting of ten nails and four white bands, indicate the founding year of Pakuan University: 2 x 10 x 4 = 80, representation from 1980. White ribbon binding on both the base of the petiole spikes symbolizes the sacred bond between all academicians. UNIVERSITY letters ferns that surround emblem motif emblem is the owner's identity. Two white florets Rosetta complementary circular letters, which has four leaves flowers, symbolize that Pakuan University has four faculties at the initial stage. Shielding pentagon irregular almost unanimously as the form of the national embraced Pancasila philosophy of life. This symbol of the University uses three colors that symbolize the basis of activities in the Tri Dharma Higher Education; each color is The yellow color symbolizes science, intelligence, policy, and wisdom. The green color symbolizes the life expectancy of prosperity and life identified with the environment, fertility, and natural colors of Bogor and West Java. The white color represents the purity of a clean heart and a clear mind.
