ZSEM became the first Croatian AACSB accredited business school. As a result of this recognition, ZSEM placed Croatia on the world map of top business schools as only 5% of business schools are awarded this prestigious accreditation. For nine years, ZSEM holds Eduversal’s rankings first place – being the best business school in Croatia.
ZSEM promotes high ethical and moral values of doing business, responsibility towards people, the community and nature, fostering tolerance, understanding of differences, and the culture of dialogue. ZSEM is open to all students who accept the curriculum, the code of conduct, and ethics promoted by the School.
The Zagreb School of Economics and Management began operations in September 2002, with the enrollment of its first generation. This marked the beginning of a culmination of years of work towards bringing the best practices of business schools to Croatia and creating a business school with talented business people. Among those deserving individuals is the late Joseph Bombelles, professor emeritus of economics at John Carroll University in Cleveland, USA. Bombelles was a great patriot and descendant of an aristocratic family he was the first and only president to-date of ZSEM’s Board of Trustees and the Programs’ Council. He had been selflessly devoting his knowledge and energy to ensuring that ZSEM remains a top business education institution.
The mission of ZSEM is to transfer values, knowledge, and skills that students need for long-term success in a globalized business world undergoing constant technological and market transformations. Studying at ZSEM means actively involving in everyday life of the SchoolSchool, which is entirely various and gives students opportunities to gain knowledge, skills, and values through mutual interaction. Our faculty produces intellectual contributions, primarily discipline-based, and contributions to teaching and practice to achieve its goal of transferring values, knowledge, and skills. We are focused on providing high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs. ZSEM’s more extensive social influence is evident in innovative programs and working methods, in the interaction of all stakeholders with the business community as well as in publicity, which is an essential tool for building relationships with businesses and our broader community.
