  1. The University of Siliwangi was established on May 20, 1978, together with the first stone laying of Siliwangi University Campus by Commander VI Siliwangi, then Major General Himawan Soetanto. The use of the name of Siliwangi University was confirmed and inaugurated on August 25, 1980, by the then Minister of Home Affairs, H. Amir Machmud. On April 1, 2014, through Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia, number 24 of 2014, Siliwangi University changed its status to State College, which was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, in the State Palace building, Jakarta. The university's vision is to become a strong university in organizing Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi to produce excellent graduates who have nationalism and entrepreneurial spirit at the national level in 2022. The mission of the university conducting education to produce graduates who have nationalism and entrepreneurial spirit. Researching to produce science, technology, and art that benefit the community. Implementing community service as a vehicle to implement science, technology, and art result of education and research process for public welfare. Carry out productive, fruitful, and sustainable cooperation with institutions at local, national, and international levels. Aim of the university Produce graduates who have the knowledge, skills, and insight of nationality and entrepreneurship in their respective fields of science. Produce superior technology that is reliable according to the needs of the community. Produce excellent products for community service activities and Create a cooperation network with various parties to improve college tri dharma quality. Basic principles are to Maintain, develop, and preserve science and technology to be devoted to the people, nation, and state. Implement science and technology following the culture of Indonesia's diverse nation with the spirit of "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" and to promote high scientific freedom that is responsible and not contradictory to the interests of society, nation, and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
