About Me

  1. Founded in 1830, Spring Hill College has provided a robust liberal arts education in the Jesuit tradition for almost two centuries. Spring Hill College is the oldest Catholic college in the Southeast and the third oldest Jesuit college in the U.S. Spring Hill's mission is to help students become leaders in service to others, fulfilling each individual's unique potential. As a result, our students are engaged, inspired, and transformed by their experiences. Rooted in its Catholic heritage and continuing the centuries-old Jesuit tradition of educational excellence, Spring Hill College forms students to become responsible leaders in service to others. We offer our students a thorough preparation for professional excellence. We strive to awaken mind and spirit to the pursuit of truth and the ever-deepening appreciation of the beauty of creation, the dignity of life, the demands of justice, and the mystery of God's love. In our community of living and learning, we are committed to the Jesuit tradition of "Cura personalis," care for each person's spiritual, social, and intellectual growth. We promote solidarity with the entire human family through informed dialogue with the world's cultures, religions, and peoples. And true to the Catholic and Biblical tradition, we nurture both the personal and social dimensions of faith, seeking to draw our students into a deeper and more vital relationship with God. Spring Hill College offers academic programs for undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult learners in the Jesuit, Catholic educational tradition. At Spring Hill College, the average class size is 17 students, and our student to faculty ratio is 14:1. Through experiences both inside and outside of the classroom, our students are encouraged to actively explore their skills, talents, aspirations, and career potential. Internships, service, and networking opportunities complement this process and prepare them for the next step on their personal and career paths. Spring Hill College offers 45+ undergraduate majors and areas of concentration for you to study alongside a Jesuit, liberal arts core curriculum designed to foster intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth as well as critical thinking skills. During your time on The Hill, we encourage you to find your passion and follow your dreams. There are opportunities for you to create your internship program, hone your skills as a speaker and writer, make critical business connections, and gather a portfolio of real accomplishments. Within six months of graduation, 89.4% of our students report being employed or participating in graduate/professional training or service. Each student is required to participate in the Senior Seminar before graduation. This capstone, upper-level course experience is designed to synthesize the student's entire program of studies and build a career or graduate study plan. The requirements for the Senior Seminar differ with each major, but most require the student to complete and present a research paper in their academic discipline. The admissions process is essential for anyone interested in attending Spring Hill College at any level – including traditional, undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult learners. The admission requirements and timelines vary by group. At Spring Hill College, we believe that a Jesuit, liberal arts education should be affordable to all families. We offer a variety of scholarships and programs. Because of this, our average financial aid package for first-year students is $35,219, and 98.3% of our students receive some form of financial aid. First-year students are considered for up to $28,000 in scholarships, and transfer students are considered for up to $19,500 in scholarships based on academic achievements alone. Spring Hill's campus is a vibrant center of activity, with numerous gathering points for students to interact and enjoy our unique sense of community. In an atmosphere that encourages spiritual maturity, respect for diversity, personal and social responsibility, and learning both in and outside the classroom, students grow together, form lasting friendships and develop skills to help them become leaders in learning, faith, justice, and service. The Spring Hill College Center for Student Involvement (CSI) provides meaningful opportunities that connect students and families to the college community. We are committed to facilitating experiences that form leaders engaged in learning, faith, justice, and service for life. Students who get involved on campus tend to have a higher GPA and are more likely to graduate. With more than 70 clubs and organizations that focus on academic interests, honor societies, the performing arts, Greek life, leadership training, media organizations, and service organizations, you will find something for you to enjoy. And if you do not find what you are looking for, we will help you get a few students and a faculty/staff advisor together to start your group. At Spring Hill College, the Mary Lou and John Barter Student Center is just one example of how the college helps sustain its environment and contribute to the greater good. The center has achieved silver-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Green building practices can substantially reduce or eliminate negative environmental impacts. As an added benefit, green design measures reduce operating costs, enhance building marketability, increase occupant productivity, and well being. To remind students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the importance of sustaining our world, the new student center also features informational wall exhibits on sustainability.
  2. Since 1873, Spring Arbor University has helped students pursue wisdom by offering an education grounded in the Christian faith. What began as a small elementary and secondary school in the late 1800s has evolved into a top-tier, liberal art, Christian university with more than 3,000 enrolled students. Spring Arbor University now offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and programs, degree completion programs, associate programs, and graduate programs. With programs presented on campus, online, and on-site at 12 locations throughout Michigan and Ohio, the university continues to meet its students' growing needs. Learning happens in our 97+ majors and programs, but it does not end there. It also happens in one-on-one meetings between students and faculty. It happens over a cup of coffee at Sacred Grounds, our campus coffee shop. It happens in graduate cohorts across Michigan and Ohio. Our caring faculty and staff are here to form students into critical participants. Whether you are fresh out of high school, looking to finish a degree, or want to take your mind and career to the next level in a master's program, SAU will help you discover and embrace your purpose. We know college is expensive, but we also know it is worth the investment. That is why we work hard to keep our costs affordable. We know many families continue to experience an uncertain economy's challenges, but we know the value of an excellent Christian college education outweighs the challenges. We are developing different makers people who will be critical participants in the world and impact Jesus. At Spring Arbor University, we are committed to providing you with a holistic educational experience, which prepares you to vocationally live out your calling as a critical participant in the contemporary world. And you will not be alone on this journey. Our close-knit, intentionally Christian community will support you as you discover more of who you are in relationship to yourself, your community, and God. On-campus, you will have the chance to engage in unique experiences and events that will challenge and stretch you, as well as opportunities to help you grow in your relationship with Christ and with others. As you enjoy this chapter in your life, a host of campus services will be at your disposal, ensuring you keep whole and healthy as you pursue the path to wisdom. We know you are seeking a truly authentic and meaningful college experience — the kind where you become the person God intends you to be, where Jesus Christ stands at the center of everything. We know you want to feel at home in a place where people pursue their dreams and passions with discernment wisdom. Our main campus in Spring Arbor, Michigan, is home to our traditional undergraduate students, with 70+ undergraduate majors and programs. It is also home to four graduate programs, a wealth of caring faculty and staff, and rich history of academic and spiritual excellence. At Spring Arbor University, we want to see you succeed while you are here (and long after you have graduated). To help you achieve collegiate success, we have designed and developed Welcome Week and Community of Learners (COL) 100. These programs are intended to ensure that students get connected on day one and have support and resources throughout their first year at SAU. Over 140 years ago, Edward Payson (E.P.) Hart and Martha (Mattie) Bishop Hart left the comforts of their Illinois home where E.P. served as a pastor, to fulfill an essential purpose. Eventually, that purpose helped them found today's Spring Arbor University. Since then, the Harts, and everyone associated with Spring Arbor University, have shared a shared focus on the pursuit of wisdom as they work to glorify Christ in the hearts of many youths who can then become stewards of the faith and bring meaningful and redemptive change to the world.

Our highly experienced Literacy Team constantly promotes the importance of reading for pleasure and specifically targets those students for whom additional support is required. This is done through a variety of interventions including one-to-one and small group literacy interventions. We aim to ensure that poor literacy is never a barrier to achievement and we strive to enable all of our students to have regular access to a wide range of high-quality literature. View full school

  10. Spring Street students see their families, their communities, and themselves as participants in a much larger world. A progressive academic program, including five select APs, inspires Mastery in the sciences, humanities, and arts. Our location in the San Juan Islands, at the heart of Friday Harbor, presents day and boarding students with opportunities for real-world life experience through mentorships, outdoor excursions, and global expeditions that foster leadership and group cooperation, preparing each student for success in higher education—and life. Spring Street is a multicultural, independent, day, and boarding school that provides students with a stimulating learning environment in a safe, rural setting. Students discover a love of learning and prepare for excellence in college. Challenging expeditions and travel experiences foster personal growth. Service in diverse communities teaches empathy, humility, and the importance of collaboration with others. Students become engaged, thoughtful, ethical participants in local and global communities. Our programs are rooted in academic rigor and progressive educational philosophy of individual development, embodied in four fundamental principles: We recognize each student's individuality, strengths, and capacity to succeed We vary our teaching methods accordingly and include experiential travel, service volunteering, and studies outside the classroom We teach students, not classes, striving to develop each student's ability to think deeply, creatively, and analytically We support each student in developing his/her personal growth. We mentor students to achieve: Academic Mastery: the critical thinking skills, depth of knowledge, and complex reasoning necessary for scholarly excellence at the university level Internal Strength: the confidence and discipline to navigate life's complex choices and to achieve individual success Perspective: an appreciation of the breadth and diversity of the world and its cultures, promoting tolerance, respect for others, and compassion Integrity: honesty, ethical behavior, and a commitment to the common good. Spring Street International School opened as Spring Street School in the fall of 1995 for students and parents seeking a rigorous academic program responsive to individual students' skill levels and interests. The school is approved by the Washington State Board of Education to serve students in grades six through twelve. Spring Street International School is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and is a Member of AdvancEd. As an independent school, it is registered as a non-profit organization governed by a board of trustees. It is committed to the independence of control by any government or church agency, or particular interest group. The school, its teachers and administrators, are accountable directly to its students and parents. It is free to select its own goals, curricula, teachers, and students to pursue excellence in education.
  11. Spring Vale Christian School is an interdenominational classical Christian school located in Owosso, Michigan. Spring Vale was founded in 1946 and began operation as a Christian boarding school in 1948. Spring Vale is located on a 140-acre campus and provides a gymnasium, soccer field, recreation center, cafeteria, chapel, and school building to its students and their families. Spring Vale is licensed by the Michigan Department of Education to operate a school for kindergarten through 12th grade. Spring Vale began providing education for students in kindergarten through sixth grade in 2019. Spring Vale is the only classical school in Shiawassee County. More than 1,500 students have graduated from Spring Vale. Spring Vale is ranked as the #1 Private High School in the Lansing Area by niche.com. In the early 2000s, Spring Vale re-organized as an independent, non-denominational Christian School. Spring Vale remains a loyal ministry partner, hosting many Church of God students from across the country. Not long after becoming independent, Spring Vale began offering classes for students in grades seven and eight in addition to high school. In 2015, Spring Vale began working on revising their articles of incorporation. This revision furthered Spring Vale's inclusive and unifying Christian vision and included a name change from Spring Vale Academy to Spring Vale Christian School. The IRS officially accepted this revision with no issues in March of 2017. Education is constant. Students learn new things everywhere they go, whether at the mall, the movie theater, at home, a friend's house, or at their local school. When a student has a strong foundation in biblical truth and is surrounded by people who genuinely love them, learning is at its best. Spring Vale's safe and loving learning environment is combined with a classical approach to education. The classical model focuses on shaping students' affections towards what is right, fair, and beautiful. It uses the gifts of mathematics, science, humanities, and the arts to bring out the best in every student and prepare them for successful post-secondary education, careers, and adult relationships.
  12. We question, we reflect, and act on knowledge learned both in and out of the classroom in ways that foster critical thinking and empower us to make the world a better place. At Sandy Spring Friends School, we are a community of scholars, performers, artists, athletes, thinkers, and doers, each with different strengths and interests, but bound together by a determination to honor Quaker values and to see that of God within each of us. Accordingly, we are a debate-driven community that is respectful of differences. We are open and sometimes noisy, but also reflective seekers of quiet. We celebrate being a marketplace of ideas while providing a safe place to explore new concepts with an incredibly vibrant and dedicated group of adults. We question, we reflect, and act on knowledge learned both in and out of the classroom in ways that foster critical thinking and empower us to make the world a better place. Faculty and staff are here because they are deeply committed to providing preschoolers through 12th graders with an education that will serve them well in the world that they will inherit. Our School is located in Sandy Spring, Maryland, in Montgomery County, about 17 miles from the White House and 20 miles west of Baltimore. Sandy Spring Friends School is on a fantastic 140-acre park-like property that includes a swimming pond, an old-growth forest, streams, two solar arrays, and even an aerial park. We have approximately 600 students in preschool (age 3) through 12th grade and 160 faculty and staff. While most students live in the neighborhood or have a short commute, our Upper School (9th-12th grades) also includes a boarding option (both five-day and seven-day) for about 80 students, including a robust international community. The Religious Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, cherishes each individual's worth and dignity because we believe that there is that of God in every person. This fundamental belief inspires Sandy Spring Friends School to value our students, faculty, and staff's unique gifts while also expecting each person to become a contributing and cooperative member of the community. Believing that personal and academic growth flourishes in a setting that nurtures trust and respect, we expect all school community members to act with integrity and responsibility in every aspect of their lives. We are convinced that all school life features should be strongly influenced by the practices and testimonies of the Society of Friends. We stress the Quaker values of service, simplicity, equality, honesty, stewardship of the environment, and the peaceful resolution of conflict, as part of our continual search for Truth. Sandy Spring Friends School develops the trained mind, the skilled hand, and the healthy body within a nurturing community centered on the Life of the Spirit. We provide a challenging academic program combined with stimulating opportunities in the arts, athletics, and community service. Believing Quaker Meeting for Worship to be central to its life and vitality, the School creates opportunities for silent worship, reflection, and the sharing of insights. Sandy Spring Friends School prepares its students for college, to enjoy learning throughout life, and to become useful, constructive, and caring citizens of the world. Our mission is most clearly stated in our motto, words taken from George Fox, the founder of the Society of Friends: "Let Your Lives Speak."
