  1. Franklin Pierce University embraces an education that matters: one that achieves academic success by integrating liberal arts and professional programs. Our community of educators and learners creates an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and encourages experiential and applied learning. A Franklin Pierce experience enables each student to discover and fulfill his or her unique potential. We prepare students to become confident, knowledgeable individuals and leaders of conscience. Franklin Pierce University will be celebrated to provide outstanding educational opportunities that intentionally connect academic majors and programs to meaningful career options by integrating our liberal arts heritage and excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. Our alumni will be well-prepared for the professional, personal, and social demands of the 21st century and will continue to be ethical leaders and catalysts for positive change within and beyond their communities. Develop skills and academic strategies to become a confident, independent, and active learner, both in and out of the classroom. The Center for Academic Excellence will provide you with the tools and skills to make you successful at Franklin Pierce. Connect with professors, learning specialists, administrative assistants, and certified peer tutors that will guide you every step of the way. The Center for Academic Excellence assists students who qualify for academic accommodations with various services, from alternative settings for exams to advocacy skills instruction. All students are encouraged to contact the Center to determine which services could be most helpful. The use of self-advocacy skills is encouraged, and staff will work with students to develop these skills. Students requesting accommodations based on specific disabilities should meet with the appropriate contact person early in the semester or term. By the Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.), any student who presents appropriate documentation of a physical, learning, or emotional disability by University policy will be provided with reasonable accommodations designed to meet his or her needs. Students on the Rindge campus should make an appointment with the Coordinator for Student Accessibility Services in the Center for Academic Excellence. Students at a College of Graduate and Professional Studies campus should meet with their Center Director or contact the Coordinator for Student Accessibility Services directly for assistance. Before academic accommodations can be offered, it is the student's responsibility to submit the necessary test documents, such as a psycho-educational assessment, individualized I.Q. Test, achievement test, or signed diagnosis statement of an M.D. or licensed psychologist, depending on the disability. See specific testing documentation links below. These tests must have been given within the last three years and should contain a summary of results and recommendations. During an initial review by the Coordinator of Student Accessibility Services, a student's eligibility for services is determined. The Honors Program at Franklin Pierce University recognizes exceptional academic achievement. By participating in Honors Program courses, contracts, conferences, cohorts, housing, and sponsored activities, you will enhance both your academic and social experiences on campus. This program guarantees you membership in a community of like-minded students, many of whom will become some of your closest friends. Honors Program students come to Franklin Pierce seeking academic, research, and social opportunities outside the classroom to complement their study programs. They submit papers, posters, and roundtable topic proposals to present their work at regional and national conferences where they engage with Honors Program students from across the region and nation. Invitation to join the Honors Program is offered at the time of admission to the University. Selection is based on high school academic performance and evidence of potential for academic excellence at Franklin Pierce. Upon completing at least one semester at Franklin Pierce with a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or higher, you may also receive an invitation to join the Honors Program. A Franklin Pierce University education is more affordable than you think. Our Office of Student Financial Services works with students and families to locate the resources they need to fund their education. Whether you are seeking admission as an undergraduate or are considering enrollment in our College of Graduate & Professional Studies, you will receive personal attention and professional advice to guide you through financing options, including loans and scholarships. Sure, classes, studying, fieldwork, and internships are a big part of your schedule. However, there's plenty of time left over to enjoy yourself. Find a club or organization that meets your interests, or start one of your own. Join an off-campus trip to a live performance, professional sports event, or cultural event. Alternatively, stay closer to home and take advantage of numerous outdoor activities on our 1,200-acre campus. Getting involved enriches your college experience and life skills. Our location in Central New England means it's easy to get to Boston, Providence, Hartford, the mountains, the seacoast, or local attractions. Franklin Pierce is located in a part of the country known for its natural beauty, safe communities, and exceptional life quality. Use the links above to start exploring the wealth of opportunities that will enrich your college experience outside of class.
