The advanced countries like the USA. The UK. Japan, China, and the fast-developing countries of the Far East are incurring a large portion of their GDP on education. The prime objective of universities is to generate a sufficient number of experts in every field of human activity. These countries have adopted such a liberal policy that the private sector universities outnumber the public sector universities. The cumulative effect of their liberal policy has resulted in the production of a large number of scholars and a trained workforce. These pragmatic policies have brought about a visible change in their society. Pakistan, being a developing country, is enforced to keep pace with the technological developments occurring in the West. This can be brought about only through skillfully developed, technologically sound human resources. Therefore, the need to remap our educational system is a peer pressure challenge. With this in view, the establishment of a progressive university capable of serving the growing needs of modern education was conceived. It is a degree-awarding university chartered by the Government of Punjab and is recognized by the Higher Education Commission. Minhaj University Lahore was founded in 1986 by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, patron-in-chief of Idara Minhaj ul Quran. It is located at a prestigious place which is easily approachable from all directions. Its campuses are at Township & Model Town. Degree awarding status was granted by Govt. of Punjab. The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has also recognized Minhaj University, as a 'W3' ranking University. It comprises six faculties of Economics & Management Sciences, Basic Science & Mathematics, Social Science & Humanities, Computer Science & Information Technology, Languages, Islamic Studies & Shariah. The faculty has numerous Teaching Departments. It has a purpose-built campus with allied administrative and educational facilities like libraries, hostels, a cafeteria, a mosque, parking areas, and a playground. Programs at BS / MA / M.Sc / MS / M.Phil and P.hD level are offered in all the six faculties.
