Additional workshops also are offered throughout the year based on student and faculty needs. Our workshops are generally hour-long sessions. Documentation on workshop subject matter is provided to all attendees. If you are looking to connect with other talented and motivated students, the GMercyU Honors Program is the place for you. Through enhanced educational opportunities, you will engage in thought-provoking and stimulating courses and discussions that will spark your imagination, broaden your skills, and enhance your resume. Through our Ethics in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (E-STEM) Program, you may be eligible for a need-based scholarship of $3,000 or $8,000 per year for up to four years. Gwynedd Mercy University's E-STEM Scholarship Program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation to help grow the STEM workforce in the U.S. The E-STEM Scholarship is one of the newest GMercyU scholarships. In response to a nationwide emphasis on increasing enrollment in STEM disciplines and producing more college graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive difference in these growing fields, Gwynedd Mercy University's E-STEM program provides the support needed to earn a STEM degree successfully. 2. Ysgol Gwynedd is a County Primary School in Flintshire catering for both boys and girls between 3 years and 11 years of age (Early Years, Foundation Phase, and Key Stage 2). The school, built-in 1949, stands in an elevated position overlooking the town of Flint and has breathtaking views over the Dee Estuary and towards the Wirral. The current (2018) number of children currently on the roll is 540, an increase of nearly 130 pupils since 2013. The school is housed in a large, well-maintained building. There are three wings: Elwy (Foundation Phase), Alun (Year 3/4), and Dyfrdwy (Year 5/6)consisting of eighteen classrooms. We have a spacious hall which serves as a dining room and gymnasium and a fully equipped kitchen therefore high-quality school meals are prepared on-site for pupils and staff. Pupils bringing packed lunches are supervised in their registration classrooms. The school is well resourced with modern equipment. We have invested heavily in our ICT provision which includes well over 60 iPads, an interactive whiteboard in every classroom, and eight mobile laptop trolleys each containing 12 laptops each. Both Foundation Phase and KS2 have access to school libraries with well over 1000 reference books. The school aims to develop a broad curriculum, which recognizes the importance of the 'whole child. We value the contribution made by all our pupils and endeavor to support and extend pupils so that they reach their full potential in a happy, caring, and secure environment. At Ysgol Gwynedd, we have always emphasized the importance of School and Parents working together in partnership. We believe that commitment to this partnership is essential if each young child is to achieve his or her full potential. In September parents of older children are given a copy of the Home-School Agreement and you are invited to sign the parental declaration form to indicate that you have read the school's aims and values and its responsibilities and that you accept the parental responsibilities and the school's expectations of its pupils.
