Cricket Green is a thriving and outstanding special school, which offers learners the opportunity to grow and develop in an environment where they and their achievements are valued. Pupil well-being is at the heart of all we do as we strive for all our learners to be happy, develop skills and competencies for life and grow to secure and confident young people taking their place in society. Cricket Green School is a community in which we aim to educate and develop children, so that they lead independent, fulfilled, and happy lives. We aim to enable pupils to make informed choices and to develop greater levels of independence together with an increased awareness of themselves as learners, as individuals, and as members of their local community. With this aim in mind, we work hard to ensure that each pupil has many opportunities during their school life to develop skills, qualifications, and confidence. We have a highly skilled staff of teachers, assistants, lunchtime supervisors, and office staff. All admissions to special schools come through the Local Authority. When the school is approached to admit a pupil the parent is invited to come and see the school. Parents may also book appointments to view the school directly with the Headteacher. Once it is clear that the parent is happy with the prospect of their child being admitted arrangements are made to find out about the pupil and to see that, as far as possible, the placement is an appropriate one to meet the child's needs. Replies to requests for placements go via the LA. Entry to Cricket Green School is via an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) or Statement of Special Educational Needs. All applications should be made via the Merton SEN Team including those from outside the London Borough of Merton. Parents and children may visit the school and should arrange this directly with the Headteacher. Once a placement is considered or advised by SEN Merton the Headteacher will then discuss with the appropriate Assistant Head and /or the class teacher and arrange an entry time for the pupil, that will allow for the class to be prepared to take the newcomer. If possible the new pupil will be asked invited to spend some time (e.g. half a day) with the class before entry. In some instances, extended links are established. When any placement is considered inappropriate the matter will be discussed with the LA. If needs be the application will be raised with the Chair of Governors. We work hard to ensure that each pupil has many opportunities during their school life to develop skills, qualifications, and confidence. We aim for pupils to increase their employability options, use their leisure time and enable each one to contribute to their community. Pupils follow a curriculum based on the National Curriculum. We enable pupils to develop their Maths and Literacy skills through direct teaching and real-life experiences. Much of our learning is done through our Creative Curriculum thematically based blocks of learning that enables skills development. Our older pupils follow personalized learning plans and gain accreditations in a range of subjects and interests. Cricket Green is a school for pupils within the age range 4 to 19 who have diverse learning needs. At Cricket Green School everyone has the right to be treated equally regardless of gender, culture, belief, or exceptional need. All pupils admitted to the school should have a statement of special educational needs specifying their learning needs and the provision required to meet those needs. At Cricket Green school we aim to provide an environment within which all pupils can feel safe and secure. We aim to assist pupils to develop self-confidence and self-esteem so that they learn to respect themselves and others, both within the school and the local community The Governors at Cricket Green School are made up of parents, staff, community, and local authority representatives. We have a passionate and dedicated team of people with a variety of skills, experience, and knowledge who are fully committed to the culture and ethos of the school. It’s a fantastic privilege to be a governor at a school where the children are always kept at the center of all we do. Each Governor is “adopted’ by a class and Governors visits are welcomed. Below you will find the list of Governors and their respective classes. For more information about the role of school governors please contact the school office In 2011-12 the Government launched its Pupil Premium funding. This money is sent to schools based on the number of pupils in the school who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM). Pupils who are counted as Looked After, adopted, or who have special guardianship arrangements also receive additional funding. This money is allocated to initiatives to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically, personally, and socially. At CGS pupils' academic abilities and needs are highly individual. Our strategy for ensuring all pupils are entitled to pupil premium additional support is rooted in our school systems for identifying pupil needs, aspirations, and barriers to learning. All pupils, irrespective of differing needs, are assessed and goals established. Strategies are then put in place and monitored to ensure pupils attain these goals and make outstanding progress against their starting points. For PP/LAC /SG pupils the success of these interventions is highlighted in LAC and Pupil Progress meetings. Pupils follow a modified curriculum based on the National Curriculum. View full school

At Harris Primary Academy Beckenham Green, we believe that consistency and confidence are key to success. As a small academy, with a single form in each year group, we aim to give our pupils a balanced, exciting, and truly enjoyable education that prepares them for success in secondary school and beyond. Located in the heart of Beckenham, we are part of the Harris Federation which runs five other successful primary academies in Bromley and more than 40 academies in total in and around London. We benefit from being part of this thriving community of schools. We are very proud of our children at Harris Primary Academy Beckenham Green, who work hard and behave well. They are rewarded for achievement and effort and we always encourage them to reach for their ‘personal best’, academically and in the way they relate to others. The aim of all our teachers, support staff, and leaders is to give every pupil an education they enjoy and which prepares them for academic success and confident, happy lives. Our academy is a member of the Harris Federation, a group of 44 primary and secondary academies in and around London educating some 30,000 young people. The Harris Federation Teaching School Alliance enables us not only to train and develop teachers and leaders in our academies but also to do so for other schools. Each academy is led and run by its Principal and other senior leaders: we are deliberately a federation rather than a chain. What unites us is a culture that ensures the children and teenagers in our schools get an excellent education within a happy, caring, and supportive environment. As a result of this, all Harris academies so far to have been inspected by Ofsted have been rated either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ with the vast majority being Outstanding. Many of these academies replaced schools previously considered to have been failing. The Harris Federation has been recognized as a top performer by education researchers at the Department for Education, Sutton Trust, and Education Policy Institute as well as Watchsted and PwC. We are a not-for-profit charity created by Lord Harris of Peckham. He and his family take an active interest in every Harris academy, supporting us financially and with their time. We want children to retain their individuality and creativity and be treated the right way. With a single form in each year group, children at our academy settle quickly and get to know each other and our staff well. We step in quickly if a change is needed. For some children, this might involve one-to-one support if they are finding something difficult and for others, it could mean stretching them more to keep them interested. As an academy parent, you are welcome to discuss your son or daughter with us at any time. We send progress reports home every term with a full written report at the end of the academic year. We welcome children of all abilities and want them to enjoy school and thrive. For children with Special Educational Needs, one of our first steps is to work with their parents and other specialists to create a plan for supporting them. Our approach as a whole is reviewed with children’s classroom teachers, relevant specialists, and parents every half term. Our aim is that all of our children are well prepared to begin the second phase of their education. With each day, week, term, and year being so significant in a child’s life, consistency is particularly important in their primary education. As part of the Harris Federation, which has its training school for teachers, our staff receives outstanding professional development to make sure that standards are consistently high in every classroom. We work closely with other Harris academies in Bromley to share best practices and welcome the opportunities and additional capacity that gives us as a small school. View full school

We think Hall Green Junior School is a wonderful school to be part of, with fantastic children, supportive parents, and dedicated staff. Hall Green Junior School has been a part of Hall Green for 120 years. Since the first school opened in 1893, the schools on the Stratford Road site have grown and developed to meet the needs of the local area, as the area has grown from a rural hamlet to a busy and thriving owner-occupier suburb it is today. JS is now a modern, very successful large Junior School, fully equipped to meet the needs of our children. We are now a fully four-form entry school with a strong communal feeling in each Yera Group and across the school. We aim to serve the needs of the children attending our School. Each child is important to us and we aim to do the very best we can for every child. Our parents are aspirational and caring. We aim to meet the trust they put in us to look after and educate their child. The school has a very simple but very important Vision. School is here to equip every child with the skills to be a successful learner and responsible citizen. By successful learner, we mean academic success in conjunction with lifelong learning skills and attributes. Every child has a Personalised Learning Plan which the teacher, the child, and the parent work towards to help make the child succeed. Hall Green Junior School has developed a personalized learning approach aimed at developing the whole child around our Four Core Skills. Each child has a PLP - a Personalised Learning Plan - which is shared with parents and informs the teacher's planning and the child's learning. The work is organized into Modules, each lasting for 6 weeks (approximately half a term). When possible the work is taught in linked topics but where necessary work is taught in separate subjects. The Modules are designed so that the National Curriculum is covered in a way that meets the needs and abilities of the children. They are also designed to be interesting and exciting. The school works to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming to educate the whole child. All children belong to a team in school and will take part in activities to earn points for their team. The challenges are around developing strategic thinking, being healthy, and developing wider learning skills. At Hall Green Junior we are here to equip every child with the skills to be a successful learner and responsible citizen. We embrace the fact that every child is individual and help the individual need of each child within the mainstream classroom. We aim to integrate all children into the school community: primarily a Hall Green Junior School classroom. We recognize the strengths of each child and the valuable contribution that each child makes. Meeting the child’s needs is the responsibility of the teacher supported by the SENCo - every teacher is a teacher of SEN and the child’s needs are met best in the classroom situation, amongst peers, by adapting classwork and having appropriate levels of support if required. Our school is a large four form entry school situated in Hall Green, a leafy suburb of Birmingham, and we share our site with Hall Green Junior School, with whom we have close links. Although we are a large school we work hard to create a small school feel by knowing our children and their families well and making them all feel special. Not only do we as a school strive to ensure that outcomes for the children's academic success are very high, but we also look to develop them as young people to support them to become responsible citizens and positive contributors to the local and global community. This is done, in part, through "Our Aspirations" and our "British Values" education. We work hard to ensure the children and all members of the school community enjoy a safe and positive experience where they are valued, respected and most of all have fun! We follow a program of Values Education. The concept behind this is to develop children’s emotional intelligence by giving them opportunities to explore the values on which our society is based and the vocabulary to express themselves. Our parents are also involved in our Value of the Month and have given us some very positive feedback about the impact of our Values Education on their children’s social development. At Hall Green Infant and Nursery School, we have successfully followed our Values Programme for many years. Our values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an ethos and learning environment which helps to prepare our pupils for a positive future. The curriculum we provide at Green End is tailor-made to give all children a thirst for learning, a motivated engagement in school, and the best chance to attain high academic success. There is a strong emphasis on developing confidence and skills to be excellent communicators in all situations. Our school has a very strong sense of community, with nurture and strong relationships at its core. Manchester Local Authority (LA) deals with admissions for Reception places. If the school receives more applications than there are places available, priority is given to the siblings of children already attending Green End Primary School and then to children for whom the LA agrees there are exceptional reasons for admission. Any remaining places are allocated according to the proximity of the child’s home address to the school. Full details of admission procedures are provided in the Primary School Admission booklet. This is sent to parents/carers in the Autumn before their child is due to start in Reception the following September. Places are given without prejudice. The school has an Accessibility Plan to ensure that pupils with disabilities or special educational needs are not treated less favorably than others. Application forms are available from the school office directly. If you require support in completing the application form or have questions about the process, please call the school. We can offer support in a range of languages as well as access to computers and the internet to complete the form online. Our curriculum is created based on capturing children’s interest and imagination through all subjects. It draws on relevant learning experiences and involves a significant level of first-hand experiences for all children. The learning will challenge all children across the breadth of academic areas. There is a strong emphasis on the basic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics. Both the basic skills curriculum and the wider learning opportunities and experiences are individually designed by our staff for our school and our children. This ensures that the children are highly motivated and inspired by a tailor-made curriculum that fully meets their learning needs. A focus on first-hand experiences ensures that children can move from the concrete to the abstract in their learning, applying skills and learning to different challenges. The children will develop excellent communication skills which will enhance their learning in Literacy and also lead to them becoming confident and articulate 11-year-olds, able to speak confidently in a range of formal situations. Green End Primary is an inclusive school and welcomes all children. We aim to respond effectively to their individual needs and children with special educational needs are given full access to our curriculum. This is achieved by differentiating activities, providing additional support, and using specialist equipment where necessary. We ask parents/carers to give us as much information as possible if their child has special educational needs so that we can explore with them and other key professionals how we can make the most effective provision in school. Special educational needs include children who have particular gifts and talents and perhaps need extra opportunities to provide them with a high level of challenge. We offer support to all pupils according to their needs. At times, pupils may need a program of additional support to ensure that they develop in all areas of their learning, including social, emotional, and physical development. Our Inclusion Manager is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and oversees the learning support offered across the school. Teaching Assistants to work with all pupils in class, including supporting programs for the development of gross and fine motor skills, phonic support, listening and social skills as well as supporting English and maths skills. The SENCo works closely with families in times of need, as well as a range of outside agencies such as the Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, School Nurse, and Outreach workers. We are very proud of our newly built, eco-friendly school which opened in 2006. Our dynamic lighting changes to optimize learning opportunities for the children. Brindishe Green is a community school where learning together is seen as a very important part of the education that we offer. The school is arranged on three floors with our youngest children on the ground floor. Though the building might look traditional, we use it in a modern way. Our children use different spaces in the school depending on the curriculum area or the type of learning in which they are involved. Each year group of children or class has its classroom. Each class will also use and learn in shared areas outside their classroom. This may be in an art, dance, or music studio, or outdoor learning areas. They will not always be limited to one classroom under the direct supervision of their teacher. You might imagine this creates a lot of noise as children move around our large building. It doesn’t – Brindishe Green is a very quiet and calm school. Children learn in a calm and considerate way and behave responsibly. Our flexible approach to learning encourages a feeling of commitment and belonging in our children. They are encouraged to see themselves as part of the whole school, they get to know all members of staff and all members of staff know them. Teaching and support staff work closely together sharing responsibility for making a very organized and educationally stimulating environment, ensuring that resources are well looked after and available. They help all children to behave well and become successful learners. Structure and organization are important to us and we have clear procedures and policies for every aspect of school life. These are agreed by staff and governors in consultation with parents and carers and are applied carefully to ensure that Brindishe Green children achieve high standards, are well supported in their learning, and develop a strong sense of community and good citizenship. Children, families, and staff at Brindishe Schools are drawn from a rich variety of social backgrounds, family structures, ethnic groups, and religions. We expect and work towards the high achievement of all pupils. Each child’s contribution to the classroom and school is welcomed and valued. We make sure that they have the opportunity to learn to the best of their ability and to raise their academic achievement. Education at Brindishe Schools is designed to benefit all of our children and to celebrate the rich, cultural diversity of Lewisham’s local community. There are three Brindishe Schools. One school is in Lee Green and is known as Brindishe Lee. Two schools are in Hither Green and are known as Brindishe Green and Brindishe Manor School. All three schools work in close partnership with each other and share many links, ideas, values, and beliefs. However, each school has its personality, community, and staffing including its headteacher. Lisa Morris is the headteacher at Brindishe Lee, Sarah Garbutt at Brindishe Green, and Gerlinde Achenbach at Brindishe Manor. Brindishe Schools work together to serve a local and shared community of children and their families. Together our three schools provide Lewisham's children with a rich, creative, and challenging primary education. View full school
