Hampshire Country School is a place of possibilities for high-ability boys entering later elementary or middle school. The school offers understanding, light-heartedness, and structure to educate boys in a family-style, supportive, and calming learning community. Inspiring excitement for learning, living, and playing, the school promotes growth in academics as well as social, behavioral, and emotional intelligence. The campus, 1700 acres of New Hampshire farmland and woods, provides for the intentional integration of structured academic classes and experiential activities to nurture the bright, active and curious side of each boy. Hampshire Country School has experience and success with boys who have been diagnosed with ASD, NLD, ADHD, and similar diagnoses. Since 1948, Hampshire Country School has been a unique and special place. It has been a haven for parents whose children needed someone to believe in them and to notice their strengths rather than their difficulties. It has been a school where students have come to believe in themselves, have accomplished more than they thought possible, and have made life-long attachments after thinking that friends were just something other people had. Hampshire Country School is a place for boys with high intellectual potential that has not been realized and with idiosyncrasies that may have become major problems in traditional settings. The school provides an unusual environment in which those problems are no longer as significant — not because they have been “fixed,” but because the school’s focus is on the bright, active, engaged, and engaging side of each child rather than on his quirks or limitations. If an intellectual, unusual, or eccentric boy who does not fit in other environments has been longing, perhaps without saying so, for a place where he can belong and grow, Hampshire Country School may be the answer. Hampshire Country School is a non-profit 501(c)3 educational organization governed by a Board of Trustees. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Professional memberships include the National Association of Independent Schools, The Association of Boarding Schools, the Independent Schools Association of Northern New England, and the Small Boarding Schools Association. Coupled with our small class sizes and individualized instruction, the MCDS curriculum is the cornerstone of one of the country’s finest college-preparatory educations. An inspiring learning environment is critical for maintaining our academic standards. Beginning with our esteemed faculty who exuberantly share their knowledge and love for learning daily, it continues with parents dedicated to providing the support children need for quality education. And last, but certainly not least, students embody our everyday lessons of respect, acceptance, and understanding. MCDS is an IB World School and accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Selecting the best school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime. Madison Country Day School is a choice available to your family as you consider which school best fits your children. We believe that the “one size fits all” approach is not appropriate for an endeavor as important as your child’s education and preparation for a meaningful life. Our school is best defined by its community. As a fully accredited independent school, Madison Country Day School first and foremost distinguishes itself by the freedom to set its course—as such, we purposefully have established a school community in which every child is valued for her or his individuality. Madison Country Day School is a student-centered school—a school where each child is truly known. This is first and foremost evident in the expert care and instruction our faculty delivers in a highly personalized yet focused school environment may that be the academic classroom, the athletic fields, the many fines and performing arts spaces, the nature-rich campus, or the many field trip destinations. Your child’s individuality is honored at our school by two core beliefs. Firstly, we believe that every child possesses an extraordinary capacity to learn. We are awed by the potential each child offers our community, may that be the local or global stage. Secondly, we believe a child’s effort is generally more important than ability. This implies that our teachers are focused on fostering a child’s motivation, fully well knowing that the greatest reward a child can experience is the moment a child jubilantly proclaims “I got it,” or “I did it,” or “I love this.” A good dose of intrinsic motivation is the foundation to healthy confidence to work toward a great outcome—in our case, the International Baccalaureate Diploma, a globally accepted certification of excellence and achievement. It takes great teachers to provide such a foundation—and we have such teachers at Madison Country Day School. The mission of Madison Country Day School is to provide an intellectually stimulating, personally enriching, and academically challenging program in the liberal arts and sciences to an able and diverse student body. Furthermore, we measure the curriculum and student achievement against the finest programs in the world. We also contribute to the larger community by developing effective educational programs to serve as models for other private and public schools. From this shared mission and set of beliefs, we have established a series of expected outcomes. We expect all students to: Read fluently and critically Write clearly and authentically based upon knowledge and personal experience Speak persuasively, able to challenge others’ beliefs and articulate their own Reason carefully, analyze complex situations, discover connections, and solve a wide range of intriguing problems Listen attentively with an open mind to ensure they are understanding the words as well as the meaning of the speaker Possess the confidence and strength of character required to both love and critique themselves Become confident, capable, humble, and interesting life-long learners. We take pride in developing students that are not only intellectually astute but also engaging and personable. MCDS is committed to measuring our curriculum and student achievement against the finest programs in the world. Academic excellence at MCDS begins with a rigorous, world-class curriculum, immersing students in the arts, sciences, and languages from the moment they step into a classroom. Combined with small class sizes and instruction that challenges and supports each student, the MCDS curriculum is the cornerstone of an exceptional college-preparatory education. Students do not simply memorize facts. To think like a scientist or historian takes much more than knowing information. Students and teachers engage in our curriculum through a combination of in-depth discussions, seminar-style classes, and projects that explore real-life applications. MCDS graduates are well prepared to tackle the challenges that lie ahead as tomorrow’s leaders with strong analytical, idea generation and communication skills. Further, an emphasis is put on interdisciplinary understanding, so that our students are prepared to address the complexities that await them when they graduate. We live in a time when information and facts are available in the palm of your hand. Thus, a world-class education requires teachers dedicated to helping students make sense of those facts and understand what they know in the context of a rapidly changing world. MCDS teachers do this, all while knowing our students as individual people and learners. At MCDS, our experienced and dedicated faculty recognize and encourage the many talents of each student. In small classes of peers eager to learn, students form lasting friendships and working relationships with teachers committed to their success, allowing each student to truly soar. View full school

At MICDS, we strive to live into our bold Mission as we cultivate students who are equipped with academic, social, and emotional intelligence. We shape future leaders who can contribute to a more positive, successful, global society by growing the skills and strengths unique to them as individuals. At MICDS, we strive each day to uplift our bold Mission as we prepare the whole person with the intellectual, social/emotional, and leadership skills they need to be successful and positive contributors to a diverse, global, and rapidly changing society. Below are the ways we—together as school administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and students—bring our Mission to life. We teach students to become resilient self-advocates who are developing into their best selves as they pursue academic excellence, individual achievement, and meaningful collaboration within the community. They acquire the skills to do so through our college preparatory curriculum, advisory, homeroom, enrichment programming, media literacy training, hands-on learning, and co-curricular activities such as athletics, the arts, reading and science groups, and other student activities. Through all of these outlets, we partner with parents and empower students to embody virtues such as respect, honesty, and integrity as they prepare to become confident and responsible citizens in the world they will inherit. We cultivate a learning environment in which all students, faculty, staff, and parents are valued, affirmed, and included as equal members of the community, embracing and celebrating race, color, religion, family structure, national or ethnic origin, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, and gender identity. In addition to celebrating the diversity among us at MICDS, we also prepare our students to become culturally competent as they learn to thrive in a diverse world. Foundational to that preparation involves self-awareness, embracing difference, critical thinking, personal responsibility, and treating others with respect and dignity. In particular, we strive to impart compassion and empathy. We foster a life of discovery, where students pursue their passions in and out of the classroom. Through a variety of classroom and co-curricular activities, students explore their curiosities, innovate, develop a sense of agency and learn the necessary skills and awareness to be thoughtful and ethical leaders. In addition, they work toward advancing the greater good through service to others, in and throughout our MICDS community, locally, domestically, and abroad. At MICDS, we empower students to be upstanders, rather than bystanders. This means they become individuals who take a stand for their values in a respectful way. They speak up when those values are compromised or threatened, and they commit to holding themselves, their peers, and leadership accountable for good and right actions and behavior. We encourage members of the community to report any issues or infractions directly and immediately to an MICDS faculty member or an administrator. Furthermore, we ask students to do what is good and right, not just for them or their gain, but for the whole of the community, thinking especially about those who are most vulnerable. The excellence of an MICDS education is evidenced by the success of our alumni and the scholarship of our faculty and students. At MICDS, we offer challenging academic programs facilitated by educators who are innovative thinkers and leaders and who prepare students to develop academic and personal achievements beyond the classroom. Stuart is a Sacred Heart girls independent Jr. K–12 school in Princeton, NJ. In this all-girl environment, students are encouraged and expected to try new things, participate, work together, and be leaders. They live up to our high expectations by becoming as responsible as they are independent. With self-confidence and self-awareness, Stuart girls develop resolve, resilience, and perspective while learning to value others' perspectives. They are free to be their authentic selves while looking beyond themselves. Stuart students see their possibilities as limitless. Here, they are not just transformed but transform themselves into brave and bold, powerful, and wonderful young women. Stuart's mission is to prepare young women for lives of exceptional leadership and service through a challenging and innovative curriculum, superb teaching, and close attention to each girl's personal development. Part of an international community of Sacred Heart schools, Stuart is an independent Catholic school that welcomes and embraces students of all faiths and backgrounds, helping them become accomplished, committed women whose confidence, global perspective, and passion for justice will transform the world in which they live. Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat called on our Sacred Heart communities to model respect, compassion, forgiveness, and generosity. Therefore, Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart joins other schools in the Sacred Heart Network. They are called to live our daily lives, promoting universal respect. Each person is honored, loved, and cared for, and where young women are educated to an understanding of and deep respect for diversity. We believe a diverse community challenges us to make God's love visible in the world, improves our lives as we learn and grow together, and affords each of us a deeper understanding of our collective humanity. We expect all members of the Stuart community, being guided by a spirit of love, to accept individuals' differences, which include, but are not limited to, ability, age, ethnicity, family structure, gender, learning style, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. We believe that all in our community should feel valued and respected, share their knowledge and gifts, and be allowed to thrive as equal contributors in enriching life at Stuart. When girls come to Stuart, they enter a community that is both challenging and supportive. Given the freedom—wise freedom—to explore and grow strong, discover mentors and experiences that unleash the strength within. By the time our graduates leave Stuart, they are ready to make their mark on the world. Stuart girls are wonder-filled as well as excellent. They ask questions. They want to know more. Outstanding academics and inspiring faculty feed Their curiosity and zest to learn from preschool to senior year. Our teachers know girls and know each girl well. Like their college admissions, student achievements are almost as impressive as the girls themselves—who are sharp and focused, internally competitive, and externally collaborative. They are serious about and take ownership of their education. View full school

Learning is directed by a faculty of teaching professionals who are dedicated to the school's mission and values, the unique needs of the individual students, and the enhanced learning opportunities offered by small classes in a supportive and nurturing environment. In our vibrant educational community, each of our stakeholders belongs. Each person is an integral part of the success of our school. Our Board members serve as volunteers as well as leaders. Our parents provide support and guidance to their children and others' children and our school's faculty and administration. Our students serve classmates in formal positions, but they also represent and care deeply for our school's broader community. Our faculty and staff regularly go above and beyond the call of duty, providing educational expertise in the best practices and another essential part of our school: love and caring for each child. Our alumni take with them the values and precepts inculcated during their years here so that they become more than just well-prepared and successful scholars. They are decent, caring individuals who impact their environments, wherever they go. Wayne Country Day School admits students of any race, color, national, ethnic origin, religion, sex, or sexual preference. Our school and its facilities comply fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Students are offered a challenging academic program, including literature and language, history and social sciences, fine art, mathematics, sciences, technology, and physical education. Learning is directed by a faculty of teaching professionals who are dedicated to the school's mission and values, the unique needs of the individual students, and the enhanced learning opportunities offered by small classes in a supportive and nurturing environment. Our Early Education program's paramount goal is to ensure each child's beginning school experience is full of wonderment, joy, purpose, and meaning. The instructional goals revolve around a developmentally appropriate program that is flexible, personalized, and integrated into the school curriculum. The sequential program is geared to each child's total development: physical, emotional, social, character, and academic. Creative art, music, and world languages supplement this development, and a structured physical education program assists with the development of gross motor skills. The multi-centered classrooms feature both open-ended and self-correcting materials within an organized environment. A typical day includes whole group, small group, and individualized instruction as well as independent work. Planned interaction of teachers and students allows each child to perform at her level and pace. The Lower School's primary instructional goal is to provide a challenging yet sequential and developmentally appropriate curriculum for all students. With a personalized, adaptable program that integrates into the whole school curriculum, the Lower School teachers strive to meet individual learning styles and differences while helping each student to reach his/her potential. With a flexible daily schedule, all Lower School students receive reading, language arts, and math instruction simultaneously in the morning. Through teacher recommendations, annual placements assessments, and the demonstration of academic and developmental readiness, each student is encouraged to work at their level. A student may work one level ahead in a specific subject or maybe encouraged to repeat a level of proficiency is not demonstrated. This may be done while the student remains with her or her peers for all other Lower School activities. The core academic courses follow a spiral philosophy. Daily, previous concepts are reinforced and reviewed while the new instruction is introduced. This enables each student to work at an achievable level while building a strong foundation to become a successful, productive citizen of our school and the world beyond. The Upper School is committed to nurturing and challenging its students in a safe, diverse environment and to inspire them to commit themselves to excellence in preparation for college and the world beyond. The traditional college preparatory curriculum in the Upper School includes courses in English, mathematics, sciences, social studies, modern language, art, computer science, drama, music, and physical education. Every child can achieve excellence. They need the right environment to help pave their way. At Glenelg Country School, our balanced, holistic philosophy of learning incorporates multiple disciplines that help children grow into exceptional adults. True to the country day school model, we carry the traditions of academic excellence, healthy living, diversity, athletics, the arts, and strong community involvement throughout all grade levels. Our varied classes and programs enhance the enrichment opportunities available for your child's exploration. Once they become young adults, they are well equipped to take advantage of all the opportunities life offers. Glenelg Country School cultivates a community that stimulates our students to realize their highest potential. Outstanding academic and enrichment opportunities nurture a passion for lifelong learning, personal integrity, and respect for others. By embracing the diversity of background, culture, and thought, our students are prepared to become responsible and contributing members of our global society. Surveying the educational landscape these days often requires an experienced navigator's skill and the courage of an ancient mariner, a willingness to take risks inherent in exploring rocky shorelines. What are we seeking? Succinctly put, we seek the "right" school for our children. We define "right" as synonymous with independence. If you hope to find a school where excellence is anticipated and is defined as supporting each student in their efforts to do their very best, a community where the partnership between school and family is a core element and an expected resource, you have steered in the right direction. For over 60 years, Glenelg Country School has been an educational community offering exceptional academics in a caring, family-oriented environment. We strive to value each individual in a supportive community, seeking challenges, opportunities, and balance for all our children. Integrity, mutual respect, responsibility, and service underscore our community held values, and critical inquiry, creative exploration, and independent thinking define our educational focus. We set our standards high, our expectations strong, and we provide personal support along the way. GCS is about options and opportunities. The arts are alive at our school, and physical activity and athletics are valued and encouraged. Ours is a dynamic community where two-year-olds and 18-year-olds share the same campus and values—where the quest for balance is woven into the intrinsic fabric of our mission. An outstanding faculty and beautiful campus with excellent facilities add to the overall quality of the Glenelg experience. Of course, this independence comes with significant responsibility. Therein lies the essential fuel for our endeavor—the energy that comes from synergy. We take the "response" in responsibility seriously and believe the mutual efforts required to support young people demand everyone's fullest attention. Schools are about change and growth, about inspiration and perspiration, for those seeking educational excellence and involvement in the lives of their children, for those willing to accept that responsibility, for those looking at education from a different point of view, welcome home. Glenelg Country School is the only educational institution in Howard County and the surrounding area to offer the Reggio Emilia approach. From Reggio activities and project-based learning in our Lower School to the learning opportunities that allow students to test their independence in Middle School and our college preparatory classes in the Upper School, our students get a unique learning experience that prepares them for a future full of higher learning.

At FCDS, we know that students succeed in life when they are fully prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead. That is why Forsyth education provides a balanced experience that focuses on academics that enrich and interests that engage. With small classes, invested teachers, and a collaborative community, your child benefits from a supportive and inspiring educational experience. When your child enrolls at Forsyth Country Day School, it is the beginning of a rich and varied journey. One that will see joy, inspiration, victories, and challenges. These elements all combine to lay the groundwork for a rewarding future every moment of every day. And it starts with the kind of education that genuinely defines Forsyth. It is education beyond learning, a vibrant fusion of many different experiences that embrace all the formative elements of a young life. We believe that a truly excellent education integrates opportunities to explore various interests while developing a strong academic base. It is this combination of passion and purpose that creates children who are eager to learn. Our students explore coursework in all subject areas as a means of educating their minds and spirits more fully. Our students create an environment where they want to challenge themselves and one another athletically, artistically … and academically. We believe that technology plays a role in all stages of our lives. At FCDS, technology supports the curriculum and is used to create authentic learning environments where students use appropriate tools to support their classwork. Technology is integrated into the curriculum at all levels through Chromebooks, Smartboards, and iPads, coupled with productive and enriching experiences using the latest Web 2.0 applications, iPad educational apps, and interactive lessons. The Upper School offers classes in interactive programming, web design, and AP Computer Science. These courses teach logic and problem solving while also discussing graphics, media types, computer networking, digital storage, hardware, and much more. Students are introduced to elements of the computer sciences in our programming classes while creating challenging simulations and games. AP Computer Science discusses object-oriented programming while learning the Java programming language. The Middle School offers technology courses in fifth and sixth grades where keyboarding, 3D design and fabrication skills, programming, and productivity tools play an essential role. The seventh and eighth grades offer an elective course called Digital Design and Programming that further explores programming and design prototyping in the Middle School maker space. Technology affects every corner of the world in which we live, and having a base knowledge of the necessary skills will prove useful to our students today and tomorrow. Our educational experience integrates opportunities to explore a variety of interests while developing a strong academic base. Each child enjoys a balanced experience that sets him or her on a path to life-long learning.

As you do your research, pay particular attention to the School's distinctions. We are one of only 50 Malone Scholars schools in the country (the only school in Texas). We are as proud to host a long-standing chapter of the Breakthrough Collaborative (a phenomenal national organization providing motivated students from public schools an opportunity for enriched academic experiences) as we are to be a founding member of the nation's only synchronous (live, not recorded) online learning program for high schools (through the Malone Schools Online Network and Stanford University). We provide the finest of athletics and fine arts opportunities to our students, including a celebrated ballet program that begins in fourth-grade and 23 varsity sports. Our commitment to learning through community service is part of whom we are as a school, with all divisions engaging in service-related programs. We also engage learners outside our community through the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP), which brings high-achieving students to our campus twice a year for special Academic Adventures workshops. All of this happens on a truly stunning 104-acre campus. While giving you lots of insights on our School, a website can only go so far. The magic happens when you go from being online to in-person. When you are in the audience to see Seussical or to watch students wrangle steers in our time-honored Kindergarten Rodeo when you talk to an eighth-grader about hiking the South Rim Trail during his Big Bend Trip when you get a front-row view of a hard-fought field hockey game, and, mostly, when you meet FWCD faculty and students in person, then you start to know our School and our community. We are eager to share our story with you in person. Founded in 1926, Cincinnati Country Day School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school emphasizing academic excellence and character development. Through educational programming, extracurricular opportunities, social and environmental awareness, and integrated technology, our goal has remained the same for over eight decades – to produce moral and ethical students who are prepared for success in college and life. We encourage discovery that produces students who are grounded and well-rounded. Students have opportunities to find and refine talents. They are encouraged to pursue what they love and to try something new. We have a demanding curriculum that promotes growth and success. Our approach to teaching ensures that we will meet the needs of each student. Work in the classroom is sometimes traditional, often cutting edge, but always challenging. We have a rich heritage of academic success. We create a community that instills a strong sense of self. A welcoming environment fosters close-knit relationships across students, parents, faculty, and staff. Our engaging program, depth of resources, and impressive setting allow students to build the confidence they need to succeed. CCDS has long been recognized for its rigorous and innovative curriculum that offers our 860 students a full range of academic, athletic, and artistic opportunities. Our goal is to stimulate and challenge our students as they stretch their minds in pursuit of knowledge. Our faculty, comprised of over 100 teaching professionals, embraces a shared commitment to inspire and motivate our students to develop their passions to their full potential. Our students often cite the strong relationships they form with their teachers as a distinguishing aspect of their CCDS education. Cincinnati Country Day School provides each student with superior preparation for college and life. We inspire a passion for learning and independent thinking through a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, personal integrity, and service to others. Our guiding principles: Ensure a school environment where every student, 18 months to 18 years, is known and nurtured. Provide a vibrant learning community with opportunities for students to perform at their highest potential academically, artistically, athletically, and altruistically. Sustain an inclusive, diverse community of individuals who learn from and about one another. Attract and retain an outstanding faculty who stimulates intellectual curiosity and engenders a lifelong love of learning in students. Through examples, relationships, and purposeful instruction, we teach our character virtues of respect, responsibility, integrity, courage, and compassion. Embrace advancements in pedagogy and technology as critical components of contemporary education. Establish productive partnerships with parents to foster student success. Celebrate traditions as they connect the past to the future. Diversity is an educational imperative because it is pivotal to every child's intellectual, social, and moral growth. Diversity brings richness and meaning to life. Students, parents, faculty, and administrators of different backgrounds, perspectives, and talents contribute to a varied and comprehensive learning experience. Consequently, a partnership between the home and school is essential for the full development of all peoples. Country Day explores, respects, and celebrates diversity while recognizing the common goals, principles, and beliefs shared by everyone. Over 33% of the Country Day student body is racially/ethnically diverse. And, nearly 10% of the Country Day community has an international background. Whether a student's family lived abroad at one point, has just moved to the United States from a foreign country, or is part of an exchange/visitor's program, our community has definite international appeal. At Country Day, we believe diversity takes many forms. As a school community, racial/ethnic diversity is as important as our students' geographic and socioeconomic diversity and their diversity in beliefs, interests, and learning styles. Teaching and learning at Cincinnati Country Day School are dynamic, rooted in academic excellence while remaining responsive to student needs and shifting 21st-century demands. We believe that, in order to thrive to potential, every child must be known and nurtured. That level of intimacy is dependent on teachers who can adapt to a variety of learning needs and styles, as well as on learners who are engaged in expanding their minds through a broad range of approaches. Our faculty is informed, collaborative, and in constant pursuit of making the classroom experience an effective and enjoyable one. At CCDS, learning by both students and faculty happens inside and outside the classroom, and we celebrate, nurture, and encourage creative thinking, individual excellence, and constructive collaboration.

We partner with the most outstanding innovators out there to adapt and apply the most effective teaching methodologies. We have partnered with IDEO, an award-winning human-centric design firm, to train all of our teachers on bringing design thinking to the classroom, regardless of the subject. And together with MIT, we are the co-founding partners of the NuVu Studio program, where students receive innovation training provided by MIT scholars, based on the MIT studio model learning. Schools can do targeted and practical work with students and families of underrepresented populations through a Distributive Leadership Model. At Beaver, our diversity director heads the global history department, teaches upper school English and middle school percussion, greets people at the front desk, coaches field hockey and baseball, advises sophomores and sixth graders, directs the spring musical, leads each division, fosters positive alumni relationships, and interviews prospective students. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential aspects of every position. The director is not a she, a he, or a collective we. Conducive with this “we” approach, Beaver’s director of student engagement helps coordinate and monitor our strategies and support systems for this work. Since 1920, Beaver has given students the power to excel in any circumstance. Beaver challenges students to go beyond mastery of content and conventional problem-solving instead;, we prepare students for an undefined era where the New Basics are the cornerstones of professional success and personal development. We stretch the mind's capabilities around academic subjects, particularly when they are connected to complex issues. We emphasize writing skills, persuasive communication, and collaboration to teach students to express their ideas effectively. Multi-dimensional thinking is the platform for success in today’s complex society. The earlier students learn the sophisticated thinking skills needed to master this complexity, the better. In all disciplines, we teach students to see things from multiple perspectives, identify a range of approaches, and think adaptively and flexibly to conceive robust solutions.

At RPCS, we prepare our students to become lifelong learners and leaders. Committed to a healthy, versatile academic program, our School equips students with the 21st-century skills needed to succeed in the larger world. Roland Park Country School honors every child's particular passions and interests through academic endeavors that hone each student's unique analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills while encouraging experience with leadership, fine arts, and athletics. Besides our robust programming, our exceptional and beloved teachers support and develop each child through opportunities infused with joy, deep learning, and a commitment to character development. RPCS is a genuinely supportive community full of spirit and tradition. Roland Park Country School, a college preparatory school for girls, is dedicated to its students' intellectual and moral development. We cultivate creativity, independence of thought, the tenacity of purpose, self-discipline, and emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. We maintain high academic standards, uphold tradition, and promote innovation. We nurture a cooperative, resilient spirit within an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. In a diverse, inclusive, and joyful community, Roland Park Country School strives to instill in its students a lifelong love of learning and the responsibility to look within and beyond themselves to contribute to and serve as stewards and leaders of their communities. The standards of the Roland Park Country School are based on the School philosophy. As a member of the RPCS student body, each student is expected to act under this philosophy and to be aware that she represents her School both on and off-campus. A Roland Park Country School student is expected to have a sense of honor coupled with a sense of responsibility, to be considerate to others, and to exhibit qualities of truthfulness, sincerity, and self-discipline. She values the spirit of fellowship, which characterizes the spirit of RPCS, and seeks to contribute to School life. It is nothing short of honorable to have the responsibility of educating the future leaders of our society. It is a charge that must be approached with the utmost intentionality. To that end, RPCS is dedicated to embracing the diversity among us, seeking further opportunities to diversify across forms of identity, and preparing our students to go into the world to serve as change agents. We intentionally remind our students that they are responsible for standing up for what is right and initiating dialogue across differences, remaining true to their own identities all the while. We find every opportunity to educate them on how vital it is to see the world through the eyes of someone who experiences it differently. We cannot truly exist in this world as leaders without considering the perspectives of those who are often marginalized. At RPCS, we educate leaders by reminding them that pursuing diversity is their responsibility. Every day is a new opportunity to spark change. We at Roland Park Country School believe that girls and young women who build each other up will thrive. There is no hurdle too high for an RPCS girl because she has the collective support of her community, lifting her toward her goals. While this spirit certainly sets us apart from other schools, it is the effect on our graduates that is so remarkable: Roland Park Country School students develop a profound understanding of who they are and how to lead together to impact the world. We are a co-ed early childhood program serving children ages six weeks up to 5 years old. We believe that all children have the potential, curiosity, and interest to succeed, mostly when they are provided with the freedom to navigate their learning with experienced teachers' support. Our co-ed classrooms and teachers embrace the Reggio Emilia-inspired Philosophy, which allows for the teacher, child, and classroom to work in collaboration. This promotes inquiry, discovery, literacy, and numeracy to prepare RPCS preschool students for kindergarten and beyond. Our teachers support academic and character skills, such as persistence, curiosity, communication, creativity, and innovation. They observe and analyze all students' interactions, then plan and create a learning environment to guide each student as he/she progresses. This can take place indoors or in our outdoor classroom and gardens, allowing our students to have hands-on, authentic learning experiences at all times. This comprehensive and innovative approach sets our preschool students up for academic and personal success by establishing a strong foundation of academics and a love of learning. View full school

Our world does not know standstill. We see great innovators transforming society by rethinking and redesigning the human experience at an ever-faster rate. At Riverdale, we believe the future belongs to those who adapt to new situations, ask the right questions, try new ideas, and work well with others. In everything we do, we balance traditional learning with forward-looking strategies. We give students the confidence to develop independence, make the opportunity, and become agents of change. Our goal is always to engage the mind, build character, and encourage community because Riverdale is so much more than a school; it is preparation for life. Riverdale Country School is a Pre-K through grade 12 independent school in New York City committed to empowering lifelong learners by developing minds, building character, and creating a community to change our world for good. These are words that guide us every day at Riverdale. How we learn, who we are, and how we interact with one another are inextricably linked in the Riverdale experience. Riverdale's curricular and co-curricular programs are designed to strengthen character skills through challenging and engaging academic work, mentoring relationships that build self-awareness and respect for others' ideas and needs, and opportunities for exploration and community service to help students find how they can make a difference in the world. In the Lower School, children learn through asking probing questions, building effective work habits, and forming meaningful connections with their teachers, peers, and school community. They participate in stimulating, hands-on experiences that flow from an interdisciplinary curriculum, outdoor exploration, and active play. They learn about character strengths — such as grit, curiosity, gratitude, and social intelligence, shaping how an individual thinks, feels, and behaves. Led by co-teachers who model collaboration, classes are supportive and dynamic. Children develop core academic skills and understand the social and emotional skills needed for success in the world. The Middle School years begin a time of dramatic physical growth and brain development. Students are hungry to learn but also self-conscious and eager for acceptance. Our challenging curriculum inspires them. Our co-curricular programs allow them to try new activities, join new teams, and find their passions. We pay attention to their social and emotional needs, weaving character education through all aspects of the learning daily. We examine how we treat each other, how our actions impact others, and how we can own our mistakes and bounce back from failure. Riverdale encourages its Upper School students to chart their courses. As they balance a challenging college preparatory curriculum, co-curricular activities, athletics, and opportunities for foreign travel, science research, outdoor experiences, and independent study, they create an experience unique to their talents and interests and yet shaped by their collaborative community. The Upper School has a "culture of yes," says Upper School Head Dr. Kelley Nicholson-Flynn. The school gives students the freedom and resources to take their interests in new directions while they also contribute to the community's life. Founded in 1854, Poly has successfully graduated generations of students who have become some of the nation's leading entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, athletes, teachers, public servants, parents, and community members—among many other vital roles and professions. Poly's mission is to prepare and inspire the next diverse generation of leaders and global citizens to act with intelligence, imagination, and—above all—character. In our Upper School (9th-12th grade), our students must complete a community service "curriculum," including freshmen classes in volunteering and service-learning, the completion of at least 40 hours of service with a charity or non-profit before graduation (many go far beyond our minimum requirement and complete hundreds of hours) and a "reflection project" (such as an essay, PowerPoint presentation, or diary) in which students write about, analyze and evaluate the impact of their service on themselves and those they sought to help. Our students join Poly's outstanding faculty—most with advanced degrees and all deeply committed to teaching—in an intellectually challenging yet nurturing learning community. Imbued with humility and the ability to listen, Poly students engage with teachers and peers—from very different ethnicities and backgrounds and with many different talents and interests—to study, take risks, and grow. A cross-section of New York City's best and brightest, Poly offers global learning to train leaders for the 21st century, where many nations and cultures must work together. Through mentoring, formal advising programs, ethical education, health and wellness curricula, and nurturing student-teacher engagement, Poly takes a holistic approach to the growth and development of each Poly student in mind, body, and—above all—character. Through Poly's progressive liberal arts curriculum and an enriching co-curricular program featuring the visual and performing arts, athletics, student clubs and organizations, and community service, Poly students experience excellence across multiple disciplines and in many ways: intellectually, physically, and morally. Poly fosters a culture of excellence that encourages each student to grow, take risks within a supportive learning community, and go "above and beyond" to reach their fullest potential. Before they launch professional careers, our graduates attend many of the nation's best and most highly selective colleges and universities. Academically primed for college, our students have also acquired the intellectual tools, character, self-discipline, and supportive network they need to thrive and make a difference. Our alumni association, founded in the 19th century and active nationwide, offers professional networking well beyond graduation. For those who choose it, the Poly experience lasts a lifetime. Long after they graduate, our alumni share comradeship and the Poly experience with their fellow graduates. Many alumni continue to count Poly graduates among their closest friends. In keeping with its mission, Phoenix Country Day School expects its students to develop a coherent body of knowledge in the humanities, sciences, arts, and a comprehensive range of athletics skills. Excellence in the arts (visual studies, performing arts, music) is reflected in a program structure that allows time for studying and achievement in an area of interest. The balance of these areas and their lessons create broad-thinking, well-rounded, intelligent students of character. We introduce students to a curriculum that responds to the diverse and rapidly changing world where populations live longer, interrelating in new ways, and using newly created technologies and new communication methods. Students learn how to collaborate and how to be global thinkers. They develop excellent listening skills, maintain sensitivity to cultural backgrounds, and awareness of complicated and less-streamlined decision-making. Through the clear objective of quality and excellence, combined with the fundamentals of an extraordinary education, our students gain a foundation and appreciation for a lifetime of learning. The Phoenix Country Day School community strives to be one in which each individual is recognized and valued, each voice is heard, and each considered opinion can find a forum. However, no forms of hatred, prejudice, or bigotry are tolerated. We recognize the richness of the diverse threads that strengthen the fabric of the School. We endeavor to ensure that this fabric reflects the diversity of Arizona and our nation. We want every member of our School community to value diversity and respect one another. We strive to graduate students who love learning and pursue wisdom. Using their talents and skills for the greater good are adaptable, resilient, and responsible citizens in their local communities, nation, and the world and who engage in life with honor and integrity. These values and goals are essential components of a PCDS education: An Education for Life. As the Valley's only Pre-K through Grade 12 independent school since 1961, PCDS has always pushed itself to be at the forefront of student academic and personal growth. From our roots when May Sue Talley envisioned an "Exeter of the West," to our current standing as a national leader in a progressive, student-centered experience, Phoenix Country Day School has always exhibited the best in independent school education: simultaneously staying true to our roots and traditions, while being nimble and forward-thinking to prepare the world's leaders of tomorrow. North Country School strives to create a community that gives children the self-confidence, knowledge, skills, and values to lead satisfying and productive lives while contributing to their world. We believe that children become confident and resourceful individuals when they try new experiences and cultivate their skills toward mastery, with caring adults' guidance. We believe that teaching and learning are most successful when intellectual activity is linked with practical experience. We are committed to simple and sustainable living, making responsible choices about our use of resources. We are committed to sustaining a diverse and nurturing community that supports individual growth and creativity, develops resilience, and promotes social responsibility. Creativity in children is both an innate and a teachable skill. Recognizing that creative thinking is as essential as critical thinking, we nurture creativity in our extensive arts offerings and school life areas. When students learn to be creative in their approach, ingenious science experiments, inspired literary analysis, individual writing voice, and imaginative multi-media presentations result. Recognizing that children are inquisitive by nature and natural problem solvers, we provide hands-on and collaborative lessons that help students make the real world and personal connections. Our students engage with one another, their teachers, and the activities at hand. They learn to ask and answer their questions and develop the skills that help them do so along the way. In the High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park, our campus allows children to learn and explore in a pristine wilderness setting. Our science classes often hold hands-on labs outdoors. English and art classes climb mountains to paint landscapes and write poetry. NCS students hike, camp, ride horses, and ski on our 200 acres and miles of trails. Our students develop a deep appreciation for the outdoors and learn the value of preserving wild places. North Country School is located in the heart of the six-million-acre Adirondack Park, of which two million acres is forest preserve. Our 220-acre campus includes extensive vegetable and flower gardens, a working farm, a maple sugaring operation, a six-trail ski hill, a thirty-six-route rock climbing crag, two riding rings, and over 3 miles of recreational trails. North Country School has long practiced place-based education, taking full advantage of its campus, the High Peaks region, and the cultural and recreational opportunities offered in nearby Lake Placid. North Country School was founded in 1938 by Walter and Leonora Clark. Leonora Clark's sister and brother in law, Helen and Douglas Haskell, had assumed leadership of Camp Treetops in Lake Placid in 1926. Both couples' educational philosophies were influenced by John Dewey and the Progressive Education Movement. They believed that close, nurturing contact, and first-hand experiences were essential for children to develop confidence, knowledge, skills, and values. The two families enjoyed a close educational collaboration in overseeing Camp Treetops and North Country School. View full school

Single-sex education has proven time and again to be fundamental in developing a young woman's sense of self and purpose. Graduates of girls' schools account for a significant percentage of women in leadership positions in industry, academia, public life, and throughout all professions. The curriculum offers a full range of courses through the Advanced Placement level in the arts, humanities, modern and classical languages, mathematics, religion and sciences, and vital programs in athletics and wellness, and extracurricular activities. Newton Country Day students are expected to act with integrity, learn to think critically, communicate, deepen their intellectual curiosity and creativity, and develop and apply scientific and technological knowledge and skill. Through the Religious Studies curriculum, the encouragement of personal prayer and public worship, and a strong emphasis on ethics and community service, Newton Country Day fosters its student's reflection, a commitment to social action, and a critical sensibility toward materialism. Nurturing the student's relationship with God and an understanding of the Catholic Church's evolving tradition, the program also educates to a knowledge and appreciation of other expressions of religious belief. In a society characterized by diversity, Newton Country Day commits itself to inspire each student to build and enrich relationships. Newton Country Day seeks to be a community that embraces differences and celebrates the human family's fundamental unity and the dignity of the human person. Both in the classroom and through community service programs, students are educated to an awareness of economic, political, and social problems. They are made aware of their responsibility to work for a more just and peaceful world. Newton Country Day educates young women to assume leadership and to take the initiative in the School and the world. The School promotes the hope, zeal, compassion, and commitment necessary to meet a complex society's challenges. The entire educational program has as its end the formation of balanced and self-assured women who possess the courage and confidence to respond generously, competently, and responsibly to the demands of their lives and the world's needs. Independent yet united in spirit and purpose, the international community of the Sacred Heart community believes in educating the whole child and preparing her to live fully and wisely. At the core of the Sacred Heart education are the Five Goals, principles that express the intentions and hopes of our 200-year tradition. Newton Country Day School's culture and identity are bound inextricably to the vision outlined in the Goals of Sacred Heart Schools. They awaken and spur our faith, intellect, social action, community building, and personal growth. Whether planning a community service project, tackling an academic challenge, or supporting one another, Newton students and faculty frame their choices and actions under the Five Goals. When faced with challenges, they give us the language and focus on understanding and prevailing. During their years at Newton Country Day School, students measure their actions in the light of the Five Goals until doing so becomes a habit of being. By the time our students graduate, these principles have become an internal well of wisdom and strength from which they draw throughout their lives. View full school
