  4. Rockway Mennonite Collegiate provides its students with an opportunity to grow and thrive through a comprehensive school curriculum that includes rigorous academics, character building athletics with fantastic coaching, a varied arts and music program that includes drama, vocal, and orchestral opportunities and additionally highlights the importance of spiritual practice. On February 15th, 1945, delegates from the Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada decided to open a new Mennonite high school. With seven months to plan, they went to work and hired the school's first Principal, Harold Groh, and secured a 14-acre plot of land located close to the Rockery (now Rockway Gardens). A fundraising goal of $50,000 was quickly set, and the community went to work in making alterations to the existing house and barn to accommodate the first group of students. Rockway's first teacher, Salome Bauman, was also hired to guide the academic program. Thus, Rockway was born 27 students crowded into the grade 9 room and 11 students into Grade 10 that first year. School life was closely monitored, and extracurricular activities were closely regulated. A devotional committee was struck, the student newspaper was called "Classroom echoes," a social committee began, and instead of custodians, students had to clean that facility. Boys swept, washed blackboards, emptied ashes from the furnace girls waited on tables, washed and dried dishes, peeled vegetables, and cleaned the second floor's dorm area. Overriding all of the logistics of both opening and operating the school was the underlying vision and mission of Rockway. Rockway's founders desired a school that would provide a vital academic and faith education while also creating opportunities for students to grow in character and understand their ability to impact the world around them positively. Rockway is, first and foremost, an outstanding school with a rigorous academic program. More than ninety percent of our students go on to universities and colleges in their program of choice. More than half of our graduates last year were Ontario Scholars. We offer an enriched program in small classes designed to reach students of diverse learning styles, taught by a remarkable team of dedicated and gifted teachers. Our students are deeply involved in our school's life, its activities, and its engagement with the broader community. As you will see throughout this website, our small size is a considerable asset. It offers us tremendous flexibility in developing and delivering a rich, creative program that addresses our student body's academic, social, athletic, artistic, and spiritual needs in an affirming learning environment. Rockway is a Mennonite school, and approximately half our students have personal connections to that faith tradition. Ours is a religious tradition concerned with putting its values into action through service and peacemaking, an awareness of our obligations to one another in community, and discerning together what makes for a just and compassionate world. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and appreciate the richness that this diversity brings to our classrooms and our school. Rockway offers an outstanding and rigorous academic program for students in Grades 7 through 12. Our school is fully accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education and awards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Rockway offers a more enriched and dynamic learning environment than you will find in most schools. Moreover, our students emerge from their time here ready to succeed and excel in whatever futures they choose to pursue. Rockway's Grade 7&8 program offers rich academic programs in which small class sizes facilitate unique learning opportunities designed to reach students with diverse learning styles. We offer our Grade 7 and 8 students many opportunities for leadership development not available to all students in other schools, and the difference is clear: our 7&8 students embark on a path towards graduation ready to pursue their dreams, eager to make a difference, and prepared for life's challenges. Rockway offers many unique opportunities for faith and character formation. The entire school community gathers twice a week for the chapel. Through scripture, prayer, music, visuals, hands-on spiritual practices, celebrations, storytelling, sharing, and thoughtful reflections, all participants are encouraged to explore and grow their understandings of a life lived from a Christian faith perspective. Rockway's Business program offers our senior students an entry into the world of international business and leadership through in depth study, discussion, and hands-on learning. Our goal is to expose learners to local businesses and international leaders through Rockway's values' unique lens. Students have the opportunity to explore business issues through practical case studies, learning tours, and conversations with community leaders. Whether you are playing a pick-up game in the gym at lunchtime or competing on a school team, Rockway values the student-athlete and their contributions to our school. Rockway students lead an enriched arts life having the opportunity to get involved in the Visual Arts, Drama, and Music in all grades. In addition to the in-class study, Rockway offers various opportunities to take skills development to the next level through events like our Visual Arts Exhibition, Christmas and Spring Music Concerts, and our annual Dramas/All-School Musicals. 6. In 2002, Adventist College Preparatory Center (ACPC) was founded to provide part-time English Language tutoring for high school students and college-placement assistance for students interested in attending English-speaking universities. During the first year, the school provided tutoring to 30 students and college placement to 6 students. Throughout the following years, the student population increased and, in 2005, the English-language training was eventually integrated into an American curriculum high school. In 2005, the Academy had its first high school graduates—a class of three. In the fall of 2005, ACPC changed its name to Taipei Adventist Preparatory Academy or more commonly known as TAPA. The Taipei Adventist Preparatory Academy continued to grow throughout the years until, in 2012, it reached over 150 students. During this time TAPA had many successes. One of the most notable was the transition to becoming a 1:1 iPad school in the fall of 2011- the first in the Seventh-day Adventist school system (of over 7800 schools worldwide) and the first in Taiwan. After 10 years of service to the students and families of Taipei, TAPA changed its name once again to include a stronger statement of the mission and goals we have for our school in the future. We are excited to share that our name is now The Primacy Collegiate Academy (or “Primacy”) and that our logo has been updated to include symbols that directly relate to our school mission statement as well as incorporate a color the represents the newness of spring: green. Today, Primacy offers approximately 150 students an enriched, expanding academic program. Our fully functioning, transition-to-English-fluency training smoothly integrates into a traditional American high school curriculum. As educators, our passion is to provide a holistic, progressive 21st Century educational environment that includes not only academics, but also emphasis on the development of students’ characters through building healthy lifestyles, caring for others, and knowing God. We hope that through their experiences at our school, and opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom, our students develop habits that lead to success for them throughout their lives. A Primacy education is a distinct, holistic approach to learning. Education embodies much more than just the academic pursuit of knowledge. Complete education also includes physical, spiritual, and emotional elements. It’s when you combine the pursuit of knowledge with the physical, spiritual, and emotional that you develop a complete approach to learning. The fusion of these four elements is what sets the Primacy education apart from other educational philosophies. While Primacy does offer a score of possibilities to our students, academic achievement is a top priority. Rigor and relevance underscore our curriculum, and although our teacher’s main objective is to present our curriculum professionally, our teachers are skilled in making sure every student is afforded an equal chance to master the curriculum. Academic students of all levels can find a home at Primacy, as we aim to challenge students with Advanced Placement® courses, while at the same time assisting developing students in achieving their highest academic level. Part of a holistic Primacy education is to encourage students to live active and healthy lives. The Primacy staff has a clear understanding of the correlation between academic achievement and a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, good emotional balance, and being involved in extra-curricular activities, such as sports and clubs, allow students to work on developing their whole being, which in turn gives needed skills to balance the stresses of life. As a Christian educational institution, a major part of our philosophy is to care for others and know God. At Primacy, we work with our students to develop an understanding that all people are created equal, and should therefore be treated with respect. The values that make up this philosophy include mutual respect, caring for others, and acceptance of all people.
  7. We are a new school that draws on a long and established history of educational excellence. The pioneering work of Frances Mary Buss, 160 years ago, in North London, paved the way for an exciting and inclusive movement in the education of young women. NLCS UK has gone on to build on this innovative approach to education and prides itself on its clear vision of academic excellence and passion for subject knowledge and integrity, as well as its holistic approach to all aspects of an exceptional education. Here at NLCS Jeju, we are building on these foundations to create an optimal environment for our community. If you were to ask current parents why they chose NLCS Jeju, they would tell you that the students here are cheerful, balanced, at ease with themselves and each other - yet excited and enthused by the challenges before them. They might add that we succeed in combining academic excellence with a wealth of co-curricular opportunities, all underpinned by a deep commitment to the individual needs and enthusiasms of each pupil. Whilst we enjoy excellent facilities in a prime location, it is our people that make our school a special place. Our staff embodies a wide range of experience and a wealth of enthusiasm. Our parents are tremendously supportive and contribute a huge amount of time and energy to supporting our activities and events. Our students throughout the School are a real delight to teach and have a genuine appetite for learning. If our ethos appeals to you and your son/daughter, then please contact us to find out more. Whilst we hope that our website provides valuable information, there is no substitute for visiting us only then will you truly feel what makes our school a special place to work and to learn. We are a school that prides itself on the ambitious education we deliver. In part, this is possible due to the inspiration we draw from our mother school, NLCS UK, and the important bond that has developed between the two institutions. We are fortunate that our relationship is genuine and close. We have benefited greatly from NLCS UK carrying out regular inspections and monitoring visits of our school, as well as interviewing and training all our new staff at NLCS UK. As the school has grown and developed, we have inevitably carved out our own identity and we are proud of how this is emulated in our aims which, whilst rooted in the pioneering work of NLCS UK, have been adjusted to fit our sense of what makes for a world-class, holistic, international education in Korea. The aims of our Junior School are to provide an ambitious educational program for all our students and to enable each one to develop academic confidence and independence in his or her learning. Our Junior School is a friendly and warm place for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 (Nursery – Year 6). The class sizes remain small to ensure quality interaction between students and teachers. Within this supportive community, the students absorb themselves in the fun and adventure of learning. Currently, we have 315 students, of which over 20% are international students from China, Japan, the UK, and New Zealand. Our highest priority is to maintain a team of outstanding teachers who will inspire and encourage each student. Students in the Junior School follow a curriculum based on that of NLCS UK. This is an academically ambitious program of learning where our teachers create an environment in which children can actively discover new skills, knowledge, and understanding. We aim to develop internationally-minded young people with an understanding of their responsibility to each other and the wider community. To promote positive attitudes and raise self-esteem, we hold weekly Celebration Assemblies for the whole school. In addition, every child in the Junior School, from Years 3-6 belongs to a House, just as they do in the Senior School. As part of a House team, students learn to work with one another, supporting and leading different ages, as well as engaging with the fun of the school-wide House competition. The Senior School provides a rigorous academic education taught by highly qualified, knowledgeable, and inspiring teachers through lively, active lessons. Students are challenged to think for themselves and to develop their minds independently. In the Senior School, we pride ourselves on working closely with families and students to ensure that all children have high academic aspirations and achieve the success needed to ensure they can enter the foremost universities worldwide. The curriculum at NLCS Jeju is based largely on that of NLCS London. In Key Stage 3 (years 7 to 9) departments write their programs of study that aim to provide students with the knowledge base and skills to take the subjects further but also to develop a love of learning for that subject. In Key Stage 4 (years 10 to 11), students work towards their IGCSE course, and in Key Stage 5 (years 12 to 13) students follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. North London Collegiate School Jeju was founded in 2011 as a Boarding and Day school. We are located on the amazing island of Jeju, in South Korea, but our proud heritage is from the United Kingdom, wherein 1850 education pioneer Frances Mary Buss established the North London Collegiate School. NLCS Jeju has become, in a short period, a reference for excellent international education in Asia, providing an aspirational academic education taught by highly qualified, knowledgeable, and inspiring teachers through interactive, thought-provoking lessons. The strategic geographical location of this island makes NLCS Jeju a suitable school for students from Korea, China, Japan, Russia, and the rest of Asia. Ours was the first international school to be opened as part of the Global Education City on Jeju Island, which is becoming the center of English education in Korea and the educational hub of Asia. We exist to give our students an exceptional platform for life after school. We are immensely proud to say that our students obtain places at the most prestigious universities around the world, and we are confident you will too.
  8. The Wykeham Collegiate was founded in January 1990 with the amalgamation of Wykeham School, founded in 1905, and Girls’ Collegiate School, founded in 1878. The decision to amalgamate these two schools was taken by the respective Boards of Governors in 1988. In 1989 the relevant buildings were constructed, and the new school welcomed its first pupils on 25 January 1990. The school quickly became recognized as one of the leading independent schools for girls in Africa. The school aims to prepare young women for the real world. It offers a top-quality, progressive and holistic education, based on sound Christian values, in a caring and stimulating environment. The Wykeham Collegiate is a happy school, where girls are encouraged to look beyond themselves and to have an altruistic outlook that promotes the good of all. It is a school in which balance is important and pupils are encouraged to develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Through working, playing, and living together, pupils form relationships and learn to respect one another. The Wykeham Collegiate boasts a track record of excellent Grade 12 results, with an annual pass rate of 100%. All girls are encouraged to give their best, and both the academically talented girls, and those who find academic studies more challenging, fulfill their potential. Our staff members are highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced educators who instill a positive work ethic and a love for learning in the girls. We are an English-medium school and English Home Language is a compulsory Grade 12 subject. Girls seeking additional extensions in English may take Advanced Programme English from Grade 11. Afrikaans and isiZulu are offered at the First Additional Language level. Languages at the Second Additional Language level, currently French and German, are available at extra cost to parents. All girls in Grade 8 and Grade 9 study Core Mathematics, and both Core Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy are offered from Grade 10 onward. Advanced Programme Mathematics is also offered from Grade 10 and is recommended for those girls considering careers in Health Sciences and Engineering disciplines. The Wykeham Collegiate is one of only a few schools in South Africa to offer Sports & Exercise Science as a subject from Grade 10 to Grade 12. Apart from the academic requirements of the course which include physiology, anatomy, and several sports-orientated areas of study, the girls also become qualified coaches in several sports, do first aid courses, strapping courses, and several other sports-related qualifications. The girls have access to a gym as well as to private specialists including a Dietician, Physiotherapist, and Biokineticist on site. Subject and cultural tours to worldwide destinations are arranged annually. Previous groups have visited the USA, UK, China, Thailand, Russia, and Israel, to name a few. Exchange opportunities are provided by AFS and Rotary, as well as private arrangements organized by parents. The Wykeham Collegiate regularly hosts exchange students from foreign countries. Sound, imaginative teaching ensures that girls grow in confidence, make progress, and enjoy school. Our small classes allow dedicated and professional staff to nurture, stimulate and extend each girl. An exciting and relevant 21st Century curriculum, where we consciously focus on developing communication, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills, appeals to the girls. Barriers to learning need to be identified as early as possible. The Junior School has a strong support team to assist our girls. On-campus we use the services of remedial teachers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and social workers. Our focus is learning through play in Grades RRR to R. Activities are carefully considered to prepare our girls for the formal learning years. Drama, Library, Music, Physical Education, and Psychomotor lessons taught by specialist teachers provide opportunities for our girls to gain independence, explore and discover. A voluntary introductory sports program is offered to girls in Grade R. Computer and iPad lessons begin in Grade RR. Girls are taught social media responsibility and coding. We have a well-equipped outdoor area where the girls spend many happy hours on the jungle gyms, trampoline, cycle track, and in the sandpit and gardens. All activities promote the complete development of the child: physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. The Pre-Primary has its unique characteristics based on how children of this age group make sense of the world and acquire the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes which will allow them to maximize the opportunities afforded in the formal learning years. Outings to various venues like the SPCA, Wylie Park, and Botanical Gardens reinforce our belief that not all learning takes place within the classroom. Aftercare is available for girls in Grades RRR – Grade 2. Aftercare is a home base for girls in the afternoon. Girls are lovingly supervised by members of staff. 9. At the time of opening, there were seven classrooms and an initial enrolment of 60 boys. The land purchased for the School was a farm called "The Great Oaks" and true to its name, it was full of many oaks. The oak has become a symbol for the school over the years. St Paul’s takes its name from the greatest apostle of the Mediterranean, Saint Paul a man who laid the foundations of the church in Greece, Italy, and Turkey. From 1963 to 1969 several significant events occurred at the School under the stewardship of Headmaster Hornsby. Among these changes were the construction of the dining hall and the opening of the library and gymnasium and the dedication of the Chapel of Christ the King. Headmaster Tony Hart, 1970 to 1979, was the driving force to establish a venture school. He had a dream that "Surely one could let a boy spread his wings for a spell and live". This dream was fulfilled in the opening of Tihoi Venture School in 1979. 1985 saw the introduction of girls to St Paul’s with five girls beginning in that first year and a new house created with Harington Day House. In 1992 Harington Boarding House was opened. St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s leading independent day and boarding secondary schools for Year 9-13 boys and Year 11-13 girls. Located in Hamilton, our school has a reputation for providing a personalized education that focuses on academic excellence. St Paul’s Collegiate School has a reputation for getting the best from its students and for consistently achieving some of New Zealand’s highest academic results. We make no apologies for setting high expectations. We want every one of our students to achieve personal bests in all areas of school life. More than often, these expectations are set much higher than other secondary schools – and our students deliver. While our strongest focus is ensuring our students are achieving their potential in their academic studies, so too is our focus on developing good character in every young man and woman. Through our Character Education program, ‘Over the Fence’ community service initiative, chapel program, and our promotion of an understanding of the importance of emotional intelligence, we are striving to prepare St Paul’s students to be resilient, agile, and contributing members of society. Located in Hamilton with a roll of 750 students, boys are welcomed from years 9-13, as a day or boarding students. The senior years at St Paul’s offer co-ed learning while the junior school, years 9 and 10 remain a single-sex boys’ school. Tihoi Venture School is New Zealand’s only 18-week outdoor program designed specifically for Year 10 boys. Students are stripped of modern technology, such as television and mobile phones, and placed into communal living with seven age-mates, regular schooling, and outdoor experiences. Both the outdoor and academic programs are underpinned by a clearly articulated and modeled virtues and values program that develops young men into independent, responsible, and contributing members of society. Hamilton campus boasts a modern student center (built-in 1998) and a state-of-the-art sports center which includes glass-back squash courts, indoor cricket training nets, spring floor netball/basketball courts, and a fully equipped exercise gym. The development of a water-based hockey turf (2007) was a welcome addition to the school as was a new dining room (built-in 2012) which provides a warm and comfortable space at mealtimes. St Paul’s offers New Zealand’s National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Senior students are also offered the opportunity to sit New Zealand Scholarship examinations in addition to NCEA and CIE. The scholarship is for high-achieving students, providing them with recognition and monetary rewards in their final years of schooling. In terms of preparing students for their secondary school qualifications, the School has a policy on small class sizes of less than 20, allowing for individual learning and one-on-one time between teacher and student. Smaller class sizes also mean that our teachers can tailor their teaching method to suit the needs of each student, ensuring that they continue to improve academically, performing to the best of their ability. In addition to St Paul’s personalized teaching approach, the School also provides a Learning Resources Unit (LRU) and English as a Second Language (ESOL) support to students who require a little extra help to achieve their best. All four of the school’s boarding houses were recently redeveloped to create modern, homely, boarding spaces that our students call their home-away-from-home. The high-tech learning space for St Paul’s Agribusiness course opened in late 2015. In 2017, the expansion of the Mary Hornsby Music School was completed which includes the new Evan McCulloch teaching classroom (doubles as a band practice facility), a recording studio to allow implementation of the new music technology curriculum, three group practice rooms, student storage, music office, and toilet facilities. The large foyer can be used as a teaching break-out space and for performances. St Paul’s is also in the process of redeveloping other areas of the school including a performance complex (extension from the Chapel), Hockey pavilion, and learning hub.
  10. Welcome to Wichita Collegiate School. More than five decades ago, several courageous families, dissatisfied with their children's education, banded together and started Wichita Collegiate School. Their dream for a better school lives on today. The mission of Wichita Collegiate School is to educate today's students to be tomorrow's leaders through a diverse and caring community with passionate teachers and an inspiring curriculum. Collegiate's founding emphasis was on academic excellence in a college preparatory program. It provided individual attention to and recognition of each student in a low student-teacher ratio environment. It underscored the importance of the development of sound personal values for responsible citizenship. Collegiate has always remained committed to providing the highest quality educational environment while embracing necessary changes that have made learning more effective and more meaningful for our students. WCS offers a rigorous college preparatory environment where academics come first. Daily after school tutorials are a hallmark of the Middle and Upper School schedules. Our Upper School curriculum offers more Advanced Placement classes than any other school in the region. The culture at WCS is one of caring and respect. Helping others begins in the classroom with our youngest students and continues through high school as our students reach out to the community. Our students learn this not because hours are required but because our students love giving back to their community. Wichita Collegiate School is committed to academic excellence. We strive to provide innovative and challenging educational programs to prepare students for higher education and productive and personally fulfilling lives. Our commitment to academic excellence includes an accelerated curriculum, opportunities for advanced-level courses for students who desire greater depth in a subject, and a focus on finding the optimum college placement for each of our graduates. Our focus is on the individual student, and our goal is to inspire each student to do his or her best. This is facilitated by small classes, an "active learning" environment that combines hands-on experiences with learning by doing, and close relationships between our faculty and students. Experienced educators designed Wichita Collegiate School's academic approach and curriculum from Preschool through Grade 12. Our program depends on careful sequencing, avoids unnecessary duplication, and ensures broad coverage of traditional subjects. Students at each level are fully prepared for the next level, ensuring a well-rounded student who can discover hidden aptitudes and passions. Wichita Collegiate School provides a technologically integrated and innovative environment in which students connect, communicate, collaborate, and create. The Collegiate classroom incorporates age-appropriate technology in every student's hands to streamline workflow and maximize hands-on learning. Our students gain skills, knowledge, and self-confidence through their use of technology and become digitally literate citizens. Wichita Collegiate School also has Innovation Labs for both the middle and upper schools, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities to use technology, machines, and creative materials to research, diagnose and design creative solutions to real-world problems, better-preparing children to be productive global citizens. When a student has been identified with a learning difference, we create an individual learning plan with targeted accommodations. Examples of accommodations include using a calculator, providing a reader or recording for quizzes and exams, using a scribe, oral testing, extended time on tests, testing in a quiet room, and allowing students to use books on tape. WCS also has a fee-based Learning Lab program on campus, providing private tutors that meet during school hours to help students achieve academic success. They help with specific skill-building as in Alphabetic Phonics and provide classroom support for homework preparation, study skills and strategies, and exam preparation. Classroom teachers are trained and know providing accommodations and working with a variety of learning differences. Classroom teachers and enhancement teachers follow the Individual Learning Plans and evaluate each student's progress throughout the school year. We have had such fantastic success with our two children in the program. Our teachers' and tutor's attention to detail is phenomenal and have left no stone unturned when it comes to our children's accommodations, learning plans, tutoring sessions, and after school tutorials. We are so very grateful to Collegiate for offering this assistance to learning different children! WCS is a school where it is as cool to be a musician to be an athlete. Students do not have to choose between athletics, academics, and the arts because they can do it all. WCS students are encouraged to become involved in multiple activities and discover their passions.

  18. Collegiate is divided into Lower School (Kindergarten-Grade 4), Middle School (Grades 5-8), and Upper School (Grades 9-12). Each division has its administrative head and core faculty. Many faculty members teach in more than one division of the School. The students and faculty enjoy a small-school environment's advantages while benefiting from the stimulation a college preparatory school can provide. The atmosphere at Collegiate is shaped by the close interaction of the student body and a sense of community within the School. Collegiate is a founding member of Interschool, a consortium of eight independent schools working cooperatively to develop programs and activities involving students and teachers from the participating schools. Programs sponsored by Interschool include an annual College Night for juniors and their parents, the tenth-grade trip to Frost Valley, and meetings of special-interest groups to exchange ideas and organize events. The Interschool member schools are Brearley, Browning, Chapin, Collegiate, Dalton, Nightingale-Bamford, Spence, and Trinity. From Kindergarten to 12th grade, our boys' curiosity, energy, and passion radiate throughout the School. We expect our students to take their academic responsibilities seriously but to possess sufficient humility so that they can laugh and not take themselves too seriously. We expect those very same classrooms to be defined by respectfulness and civility. We aim to be a community that strives for its students to seek academic and personal excellence. Those goals are of great importance to the faculty: they are fundamental. With approximately 650 boys in thirteen grades, our size encourages strong, supportive, resilient, and trusting friendships among the boys and between the boys and their teachers. The School's culture of kindness, respect, and generosity helps foster an ethos rooted in partnership and collaboration. Our location on the Upper West Side of Manhattan means that we can extend our classroom to include the full range of New York City's rich offerings. We recognize, too, that we must play an active part in contributing to New York City by helping to meet the needs of our fellow citizens, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Statement of Beliefs: We believe that we are at our best when all school community members conduct themselves with respect, kindness, and integrity. We believe that this old but not old-fashioned School's traditions and values can inspire boys to develop their capacities for personal and academic excellence. We believe that boys learn best when they are members of a diverse and just community that fosters purposeful and spirited engagement, inquiry, and collaboration in academics, athletics, and the arts. We believe that a liberal arts education committed to diligent and discerning scholarship prepares students to be citizens who act with conscience, courage, and compassion. View full school

A school is made stronger when a variety of voices can be confidently and respectfully expressed. We aim to promote self-discovery and individuality and understand, respect, and support each person's ideas and opinions. Our goal is to create an intellectually challenging community of teachers and learners that: recognizes and values a spectrum of viewpoints and life experiences reflect the complex world in which we live, dispels stereotypes and confronts prejudice, rejects cruelty in any form, and inspires us to lead in a global society. Community is integral to the Chase experience. Through understanding an ethical view of life and a clear set of community standards, our kids know and practice compassion. Students build confidence when teachers promote discussion and provide ample opportunity for all voices to be heard. Students are encouraged and supported to take risks. Through success and failure, they gain the courage to push past what is comfortable and grow. We have integrated innovation and design thinking into our traditional curriculum – and created three high and low-tech design labs on campus, providing students the knowledge and space to chart their course in terms of their approach to a project and the outcome they produce. Regardless of what the future will look like when Chase students graduate from college, we know the marketplace will reward creative problem solvers. Chase's educational program and innovation challenges create the right conditions for generating solutions. View full school
  20. The Packer Collegiate Institute is an independent, co-educational PreK-12 school in beautiful Brooklyn Heights, one subway stop from Lower Manhattan. Established on Joralemon Street in 1845, our school is located on a unique and historic campus. The Packer Early Learning Center, one block away at 100 Clinton Street, houses our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. Packer's dynamic curriculum is shaped by enormously talented educators who put students at the center of their own learning experience. Our mission is the foundation of the Packer experience. Think Deeply, Speak Confidently, Act with Purpose and Heart. As a community, we regularly discuss these words' profound meanings, beginning with our youngest learners. In our rapidly changing world, we believe that exceptional individuals develop by engaging, questioning, and participating in the community, and Packer students embody our mission in ever-inspiring innovative ways. Grounded in rich traditions while embracing the future, Packer is a diverse community that balances the value of scholarship and the intellect with the importance of meaningful and sustained relationships. Guided by dedicated adults, Packer students are challenged to develop talents, pursue aspirations, and become empathetic, responsible, globally-minded individuals. Our mission drives our six core values. Together, they capture our commitment to nurturing both head and heart in balance: Scholarship: supporting meaningful intellectual engagement, rigorous thought, and the life of the mind. Creativity: fostering curiosity, exploration, discovery, and the value of generative work and art. Diversity: embracing difference, access, and inclusion to build understanding and empathy. Integrity: cultivating decency, honesty, goodness, and personal responsibility. Joy: creating a community of positive energy, active participation, and lively engagement. Respect: caring for oneself, for one another, for the space we share, and for the work we do. For Packer students, the benefits of learning in a diverse community where individuality is valued, and equity is affirmed are immeasurable. The conversations we initiate throughout the Packer community are openly held and deeply valued. Our work is often connected to our focus on social-emotional development, community engagement, and global learning. We are actively engaged in cultural competency work because we understand the positive impact on all communities; more importantly, we know the potential this work has for encouraging justice and empathy in the world beyond Packer's doors. Our commitment to the diversity of people in our community encompasses every social identifier, including, but not limited to, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, economic status, family composition, and ability. As a community, we are focused on the encouragement, support, and experience of every student and work with families to ensure students experience full membership at Packer. Our students have established a range of affinity groups and clubs to examine their experiences' commonalities and generate understanding across our community related to various identities, interests, and beliefs. We hold student-centered events and meaningful community events to bring students, families, school professionals, alumni, and neighbors together to share perspectives, find common ground, and build empathy. Our annual school-wide Packer in Action program offers students and adults opportunities to examine, discuss, and dismantle inequities in our community and world. The annual Middle School Equity Simulation gives students first-hand insights into how identifiers impact one's experiences and opportunities in the world. Throughout the year, we co-sponsor speakers, workshops, meet-ups, and other activities to build on our Community Engagement Program, Global Learning Program, and our Alumni Office. We also work very closely with the Diversity Discussion Group of the Packer Parent Association, hosting monthly meetings and bringing in outside speakers to foster growth and conversation. Packer believes that healthy identity development is essential to our students' academic, social, and emotional growth. As educators, we must create an environment where all students feel safe, challenged, celebrated, and an integral part of Packer. Our responsibility is to engage all members of our school community in understanding multiple perspectives and participating in anti-bias work. Ultimately, our goal is to prepare students to become contributing members of a multicultural and interconnected society. From preschool through high school, our academic program directs young people to become critical thinkers and creative risk-takers. Our highly trained, collaborative faculty create age-appropriate academic challenges while providing the holistic support that young people need to realize their full potential in and out of school. With small class sizes and attention to both intellectual and social-emotional growth, Packer students develop a sense of empowerment in all aspects of their lives. They are encouraged to explore their interests and to participate in the world around them. Whether in one of our classrooms, on stage, or in the athletic field, Packer students are confident, curious, and determined. View full school
  21. Founded in 1915, Collegiate is a learning community built on academic excellence. Our JK-12th grade curriculum prepares students to meet the complex world's challenges and stand out from the crowd. Our graduates possess extraordinary academic foundations, leadership skills, and a moral compass necessary for life-long learning, civic involvement, and global engagement. The liberal arts-focused curriculum is intentional, relevant, and transformative. Louisville Collegiate School has a long tradition of academic excellence and creativity within a hot and supportive environment. Louisville Collegiate School is divided into Lower School (Jr. Kindergarten-Grade 5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Upper School (Grades 9-12). Each division has its administrative head and core faculty. Many faculty members teach in more than one division of the school. The students and faculty enjoy a small school environment's advantages while benefiting from the stimulation a college preparatory school can provide. The atmosphere at Collegiate is shaped by the close interaction of the student body and a sense of community within the school. Small by design, Collegiate's size offers students opportunities for active participation in the school's life, the hallmark of our college preparatory program that ignites intellectual engagement, bold leadership, and remarkable character. Collegiate students actively engage in classroom discussions, connect with influential adult role-models, and develop their many talents within a vibrant extracurricular program of arts, athletics, and community service. Even a school with a long history like Collegiate's must remain agile and responsive as it prepares students for success and personal fulfillment in an ever-changing, interconnected, and multicultural world. We are committed to offering the broadest possible access to our JK-12 programs by awarding financial assistance each year to attract talented students. At Louisville Collegiate School, we believe reaching and challenging each student goes beyond conventional methods. Our vibrant learning community exposes students to opportunities and experiences outside the classroom. At Collegiate, our goal is to cultivate each child's unique potential. Our supportive and inclusive community creates an encouraging backdrop for learning. At Collegiate, we strive to foster overall student development through our academically rigorous college preparatory program. We have student support services positioned in each division to work with students and teachers to do everything we can to help our students reach their potential. Collegiate applies a team approach to ensure all needs are met. For example, in Lower School, a dedicated learning support services coordinator works with the math coordinator, Director of Center for Learning Advancement, school counselor, and health support services coordinator to create an individual learning plan to support each student. We believe that our mission's fulfillment requires on-going, meaningful professional development for all faculty and staff. Meaningful professional development opportunities should further the school's mission, promote collegiality, and foster innovation. Professional development takes on a host of different forms: internal class visits, external schools visits, conferences, internal & external workshops, continuing education, webinars, collaborative discussions, readings, research, published writing, working with professional organizations, online coursework, visiting speakers & authors, seminars, curriculum alignment, cultural competency training, technology training and more. Collegiate works to take advantage of all these different avenues to continue to grow as teachers and learners. The Professional Development Committee, made up of division heads and the Director of Academics, meets monthly during the school year to review professional development opportunities and to build collegial networks inside and outside the school. 22. Since our founding in 1926, Lausanne has continually evolved for the better. But our founders’ emphasis on challenging the status quo, commitment to small classes, inspiring teachers, and highly individualized instruction are values we hold dear today. Lausanne Collegiate School offers students a distinctive learning community through an established tradition of educational innovation. We forge meaningful relationships and embrace global mindedness. We learn from one another and honor and celebrate our differences and our likenesses. We have graduated generations of alumni empowered to forge their path. And our students learn to respect and consider others' viewpoints as they work through complex problems today, just as they have for 90 years. That desire for different thoughts and opinions has steadily grown our campus's diversity over the decades, giving our students the ability to form meaningful relationships across stereotypical, socio-economic, and global divides. While we are proud of the history that we have built together, we challenge ourselves to be better tomorrow than we are today. We continually look for ways to serve our students and community further. Lausanne will continue to adjust to fully prepare our graduates for college and life in a global environment. However, our consistent core values will continue to guide us into the future just as they have for the past 90 years. Our school has an incredible history. It has long been a place that helps students find their passion in an environment of tolerance and empathy, and real community support. At Lausanne, the artist, the academic, and the athlete can be celebrated for their interests but not be typecast into a role because of them. At Lausanne, we prepare all our students for life in a global environment. As we look at the world they will encounter when they begin to seek their journeys in college and beyond, preparing them to work, interact, and collaborate with a diverse mix of people is essential for their future success. With girls and boys from 55 different countries and 47% of color students, Lausanne truly is a microcosm of the world. The diversity allows students to learn from each other, giving them better cognitive abilities and improved social skills. Teaching girls and boys how to learn and work together from an early age allow students to see beyond stereotypes and grow their respect for viewpoints different from their own. In a child’s early, formative years, they acquire the building blocks of their education and their perceptions of the world. Under Lausanne’s expert faculty's guidance, students are given a safe environment to learn from people different from themselves. As they mature, they grow in their appreciation of other perspectives, approaches, and responses. This interaction across gender divides promotes more thoughtful students prepared to engage in meaningful discussion and debate. Lausanne develops the individual talents, intellects, creativity, and character of girls and boys through innovative teaching strategies and passionate and engaged learning within our diverse Pre-Kindergarten-12th grade setting. Empowering students to seek their journey is key to the Lausanne Way, and by providing an environment that mimics the world they will encounter, our students are prepared to succeed. Contact our Admission office to schedule a tour and see the Lausanne Way first-hand. Regardless of their gender, each student learns differently, and teachers at Lausanne work to ensure that the right educational approach is used for each student. Our faculty look deeper than stereotypes to ensure that each child is taught most effectively within their co-educational experience. "We live in a mixed-gender, fast-paced, and competitive society. We chose to have our daughters study at Lausanne because we believe that a co-ed school structure will help them build confidence and become used to partnering competing with peers regardless of race or gender. Lausanne offers this perfect balance of skills that will prepare them for the diverse academic and work environments in our society." The unique research- and inquiry-based educational process for boys and girls at Lausanne Collegiate School includes small class sizes inspiring and supportive faculty, and the advantage of sharing diverse cultures, experiences, opinions, and interests. The renowned International Baccalaureate Programme and wide range of extra-curricular activities give Lausanne students a competitive edge in the college admission process and the skills and attributes necessary to explore and find success in a global environment. We welcome girls and boys from 3 months and support them through our four schools - Chapter House (3 months to Year 5), King’s Magna (Year 6 to 9), The College and Faculty (both Year 10 to 13) – to become resilient, confident and independent young adults who are well prepared for their future. The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) awarded the Collegiate the top grading of Excellent across all schools and areas, following an inspection in February this year, praising the pupils’ outstanding academic achievements and personal development. Our exam results speak for themselves, consistently ranking us amongst the top 10 day and boarding schools in the UK, with students benefiting from the wonderful study, boarding, and leisure facilities as part of campus life. 24. We are proud of our tradition of producing independent-minded young women with the drive to make the most of opportunities and a difference in the world. That was the vision of the founder, Frances Mary Buss, in 1850, and it remains at the heart of the School’s ethos today. We have a strong track record of enabling girls to gain entry to their first choice of university, but examination success is only part of the picture and passionate teachers inspire pupils with a love of their subject which goes beyond the examination syllabus. NLCS celebrates the individual and creative spirit of the girls. We provide the springboard for our pupils to find their place in a world which will require not only technical skills but also creative and communication skills to thrive. This is why we continue to invest in and enhance our music and arts provision and offer a wealth of sporting opportunities. Over 50 clubs and societies create a vibrant atmosphere that helps girls to develop a relaxed self-confidence and enjoy their time at Canons. To find their niche, to develop confidence, and to succeed in whichever area they choose. We can’t recall visiting another all-girls school and finding quite this kind of relaxed self-confidence. Every girl matters, the pastoral care at the school ensures students feel supported and valued throughout their time here. We encourage girls to be resilient and bounce back when faced with challenges or disappointments. Academic and pastoral staff work closely together to ensure no girl is without support during her time at the School. As we remember in our Founder’s Day prayer "Thou dost require much from those to whom much is given" and today it is just as important that our students develop a sense of social responsibility and learn how to make a practical difference to the world around them. NLCS has a global perspective that is unique amongst London day schools. In the Sixth Form, students can study the International Baccalaureate Diploma - a highly regarded qualification that is particularly prized by Ivy League, Russell Group, and European universities. In addition to this, the opening of our sister schools in Jeju and Dubai benefits our students through exchange and collaboration opportunities. To provide an ambitious academic education and to enable each girl to make the most of her gifts To maintain a team of professional teachers to whom each pupil is important and who can introduce their subjects with enthusiasm and drive To enable all pupils to recognize academic excellence and to realize that it is attainable To make the School a place where the whole personality can grow To foster good relationships between staff and pupils and between the girls themselves To teach the girls that education is much more than passing examinations and to try themselves out in a variety of ways To maintain a community that is tolerant and teaches service to others. Everyone matters in North London. This means every individual is well-known, valued for who they are, and their contribution is recognized and celebrated. The leadership opportunities, public speaking, performance, creative expression, and sports and outdoor activities are many and varied throughout both our Junior School and Senior School and coupled with our focus on supporting the individual, the result is that students feel happy, and are given the confidence to run their race – to embrace challenges, to be grounded, resilient and to flourish in whatever walk of life they may choose. We want our students to have dreams of becoming the Prime Minister of the UK, finding the cure for cancer, or winning the Nobel Peace Prize. We will prepare you to be the future leaders of your chosen profession and our society. View full school
