About Me

  1. Oxley Christian College is a Christian school founded by Life Ministry Centre as a church'schurch's ministry expression. It opened in Warranwood in 1979 with 89 students in Prep to Year 8. The College was relocated to the current site in Chirnside Park in 1983. The founding Pastor of Life Ministry Centre (LMC), H.K. Oxley (OBE), stated in 1983, "We aim to produce a sound, academically trained person with a Christian foundation specifically regarding standards, behavior, and absolutes, in short, a balanced, stable, mature and useful citizen of our community. The Senior Pastor of Life Ministry Centre is Pastor Graham Nelson. When the College was founded in 1979, it was with two key objectives: to achieve the highest academic standards and to do so within a non-denominational, distinctively Christian environment. Still deeply committed to its founding principles, Oxley is widely recognized both for the excellence of its teaching and for the outstanding academic performance of its Year 12 students, of whom the majority gain entry each year into the university programs of their choice. At the heart of the Oxley, experiences are Christian perspectives and values (refer to the School Aims and Statement of Faith below), underpinning all aspects of the College program. Every member of the highly qualified teaching staff is committed to the Christian ethos. Each student is encouraged to develop a deep and enduring personal faith, accompanied by respect for oneself as a unique creation of God and by respect and compassion for others. The College also seeks to identify and nurture the individual student'sstudent's talents, which are valued, cherished, and encouraged as unique, God-given gifts. The College attracts students from diverse cultures and backgrounds – including several students from overseas. The College community welcomes all students and families who embrace the school'sschool's ethos and objectives. The College values and promotes the principles and practices of Australian democracy, including a commitment to an elected government, the rule of law, and equal rights for all before the law. We are also committed to and enjoy the freedom of religion, speech, and association. Our College community practices and actively promotes the values of openness and tolerance. Set in 70 acres of beautifully maintained grounds, Oxley educates up to 1000 students from Early Years to Year 12 on one spacious campus. Contemporary, light-filled buildings overlook the top grade sports oval and the well known Oxley Stadium. All Junior and Senior classrooms are well equipped and air-conditioned. Outstanding specialist facilities include the Senior Science Complex, Performing Arts Centre, Visual Arts and Design Centre, Library Resource Centre, Food Studies Complex, Education Support Centre, and Junior, Senior, and VCE Information Technology Laboratories. There is a Chapel, Theatre, and Assembly Hall. The Oxley Stadium accommodates five competition-sized basketball courts suitable for all indoor sports, a fitness center, and a sports cafe. There are extensive ovals, playing fields, outdoor courts, and play equipment.
  2. Canisius College, since its establishment in 1927, has had several musical groups. It used to have a drum band, a string orchestra, a classic guitar group, and a band. The life of these musical groups was waxing and waning depended on the students’ enthusiasm and the condition of each class. Canisius, however, was always consistent in giving attention to the development of art activities and programs no matter what kind of art activities and programs were chosen by the students. Vision Canisius College aspires to be a center of excellence for the education of future leaders moved by principle and inspired by faith. Mision as a school, Canisius College strives to educate its students to earnestly live up to the principle of competence, conscience, and compassion. As a Catholic school, Canisius College strives to accompany its students in the habit of reflection, through which they thrive as fully grown persons responsive to the love of God and capable of finding the greater glory of God in the service of others, especially those in need. As a school set in Indonesian society, Canisius College strives to guide its students to constantly seek out the truth in the spirit of honesty, to share and put into practice the very quest for truth for the development of their fellow citizens, environment, culture, and the nation of Indonesia.

  6. “UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” The College is one of seventeen schools and Colleges that make up the UWC movement. This means when you join the College, you automatically become a member of a global movement that puts at its heart its mission in which “UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” To be the Principal of this school is so immensely rewarding. The College is an extremely vibrant community consisting of just over 250 students, representing over 80 different nationalities. This means that students have the opportunity to live and study with students from a very wide range of cultural backgrounds. Our website and our Facebook page only give a flavor of the very special atmosphere here. All the students and the College teaching staff live on the campus of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong. This means that a very unique community develops based on students and staff. All students follow the IB Diploma curriculum. A special feature of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong is the breadth and depth of activities that students undertake outside of the “taught” curriculum. In the afternoons and weekends, students are involved in over 90 different activities based around the themes of Creativity, Action, and Service. Students also participate in at least one activities week either in China or the rest of the world per year. Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong was established in 1992. We are situated on a large peninsula on the edge of Ma on Shan Country Park, in the New Territories. The campus was purpose-built with excellent classroom facilities including Wi-Fi access across campus. The purpose-built residential campus in Wu Kai Sha stands next to the steep, tree-covered slopes of Ma On Shan (Horse Saddle Mountain), adjacent to Starfish Bay, and overlooks the waters of Tolo Harbour. Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong (LPCUWC) is one of 17 colleges that share the value and philosophy of the UWC movement and the mission of UWC. Sharing a firm commitment to diversity, LPCUWC is a boarding school that goes beyond being “international.” We are a vibrant community interwoven with more than 250 students from over 80 different nationalities, cultures, and various socio-economic backgrounds supported by scholarships. Living in a fully residential college, students get to learn from and with friends of different backgrounds in their shared living experiences.
  7. We are very much an inclusive community where we value and nurture effective and productive relationships between students, parents, and teachers. The diversity of our community is something we value and celebrate where each member of our community can find a place where they can be themselves. The first thing that strikes most visitors to the College is our warm, welcoming, and vibrant learning environment and culture. There is also palpable energy and sense of purpose as well as a strong work ethic, exemplified by staff and students alike. Our students are serious about their learning and our teachers and staff nurture, guide, and support them every step of the way. Our exceptional examination results speak for themselves and highlight our commitment to academic achievement and success for each student. That alone however is only one part of what we value at Sha Tin College in ensuring our students are well-educated and prepared for life beyond school. With numerous extra-curricular activities and opportunities on offer, students are encouraged to get involved and engage with a wide range of experiences. We especially focus on building self-awareness, self-esteem, and leadership skills in our students and encourage them to lead active healthy lives. Our culture of the community is most evident in our House system. All students and staff are members of one of our four Houses: Dragon, Griffin, Pegasus, and Phoenix. The Houses are run by senior school student leaders and focus on a variety of activities, events, charities, and competitions throughout the academic year. There is an equal measure of healthy rivalry between the Houses and students supporting each other, which all culminates in the award of House trophies at the end of the year. Our Sha Tin College mission statement says it all. “Ours is a culture where we take responsibility for fulfilling our potential and that of others for the good of humanity” – a laudable goal for sure but one we strive for every day!
  8. Welcome to the family of St. Paul’s Co-educational College. For over a century, SPCC has been providing a quality whole-person education for a socially diverse student body. Students are admitted by merit and potential regardless of their family or social backgrounds. As one of the oldest schools in Hong Kong, we cherish an unbroken tradition of academic, aesthetic, physical, and musical excellence and a reputation for being at the forefront of educational developments. Much as we value scholarship and intellectual development, we stress even more on values and attitudes and laud integrity and modesty. Learning at SPCC is not confined to the classroom. With an extensive array of experiential learning and exchange programs, our students are exposed to different cultures and learn from new perspectives. We seek to provide the best opportunities to groom them into global citizens who would serve the public good and lead a responsible and magnificent life. Our graduates, being leaders in their respective professions, have long been recognized for the invaluable contributions they made to society over the years. Education is our passport to the future. I look forward to welcoming you to the SPCC family and taking your child on the wonderful journey of holistic, enlightening, and challenging education. In the spirit of " Faith, Hope, and Love ", to nurture our students as future leaders by instilling in them a culture of excellence, high moral values, an altruistic spirit, a passion for lifelong learning, and a global perspective. We stress integrity, scholarship and excellence, and also modesty and simplicity of life. We are dedicated to making the Schools a loving and caring community where students from different social backgrounds can interact, learn and pursue academic excellence together so that they may lead responsible and fulfilling lives. SPCC offers the curricula of the local Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in parallel. We believe the provision of the dual curricula enables us to better cater to our diverse student body, which encompasses a broad array of talents and interests and different learning styles. We are a school under the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui and students are given care and guidance by the Christian faith and its emphasis on the value of the individual. Christian teachers and pastors provide students spiritual care and guidance. The discipline panel, the counseling group, careers staff and school social workers work closely to offer students counseling services and organize related activities for them. Civic and moral education programs are held regularly at school to inculcate in each student a sense of self-worth, social responsibility, and cultural and civic awareness.
  9. In 1901, a group of eight Chinese businessmen and community leaders wrote to the Governor of Hong Kong asking him to open an English school for Chinese children residing in the Colony. Through the concerted efforts of Sir Kai Ho Kai, Dr. Tso Seen Wan, Bishop Joseph Hoare, and Archdeacon William Banister, St Stephen's College was opened in 1903, with six borders and one day pupil, as a Christian boys' school. The object of the Founders was to offer an opportunity for Chinese boys to acquire a highly regarded education similar to that provided by well-known English Public Schools of those times. It soon attracted overseas students, particularly Chinese from Southeast Asia. Today, we have many graduates who are international high achievers in every field. They have exemplarily realized the aims of our founders over 100 years ago. St Stephen’s College aims to provide quality education and training for the whole person, with a balanced emphasis on moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual development, in a caring and supportive Christian environment. We believe in equipping students with life-long learning skills, sound moral principles, and broad global perspectives so that they become competent, committed, and resourceful leaders of tomorrow. The S1 - S3 Programme provides students with a comprehensive curriculum covering all the eight Key Learning Areas (Chinese Language Education, English Language Education, Mathematics Education, Personal, Social & Humanities Education, Science Education, Technology Education, Arts Education, and Physical Education), as well as a range of school-based individual challenges for life-long and life-wide learning. 10. ICHK is a school that is proud to embrace innovation in learning. We deliver a stimulating curriculum for expatriates from around the world and English-speaking local Chinese students. At our primary and secondary sites, inspirational teachers work in partnership to deliver a through-train education to students of all nationalities. At our kindergarten and primary school, we have been delivering high-quality education for more than 30 years, following the IB Primary Years Programme with a strong focus on English and Maths. Specialist learning includes Student Support, Chinese, PE, ICT, Music, and Art. Our vision is to be a leader in outdoor learning and Forest School education. From the early years, the development of a Growth Mindset is key to our learning philosophy. We believe in encouraging and fostering the talents of every child and are committed to ensuring that every child is happy, motivated to learn, and fully prepared for secondary school. In Years 7-9 we offer an exciting and innovative curriculum aimed at preparing students for the IGCSE and IB programs in the senior school. Learning is centered on emerging best practices, using insights and innovations from around the world. In Years 10 and 11 we follow IGCSEs. We ensure progression and continuity by building on the achievements of the earlier years and by preparing students for the rigors of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) offered in Years 12 and 13. All students take the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Second Language, PSHE, Human Technologies, Enrichment, and Flow and PE. Students also select two options from subjects including Art, Drama, Media Studies, Environmental Management, Economics, History, Expressive Arts, Global Perspectives, and Enrichment and Flow. Human Technologies helps students discover and develop skills for learning including self-management, collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, inquiry, and ICT skills, whilst practicing self-reflection and self-awareness. Enrichment and Flow offer students the opportunity to dig deeper into areas of personal interest and passion and to take more control over their learning.
  11. Discovery College is an international community of learners who respect the diversity of experiences and perspectives we each possess. Here, we strive to create an environment that fosters a passion for learning, which enables all students to Grow. Discover. Dream. We have exceptional teachers and staff who provide wonderful classroom programs, which are engaging and fun for students. Discovery College’s diverse student body underscores the importance of international mindedness and the shared spirit of respect that is a tenant of the College’s Guiding Statements. We welcome students from across the Hong Kong community and are proud to help every student achieve his or her very best. In addition to the robust and comprehensive IB curriculum, which includes specialist courses in the performing arts and PE from Year 1, sports and outdoor activities play a major part in the lives of the students at Discovery College. Sports are provided not only through a comprehensive and highly competitive College program, but also through very strong local sports clubs in Discovery Bay. Likewise, co-curricular activities provide students with opportunities to explore new interests across a wide range of areas. The College’s location also provides a strong sense of community for students and staff alike. With no private cars, Discovery Bay is an ideal choice for many families. It is a self-contained residential area with its bus service, including routes to the Sunny Bay MTR station, Tung Chung MTR station, and Hong Kong Airport, as well as a 24-hour ferry service to Central. Its relaxed atmosphere lends itself to a more leisurely pace of Hong Kong living. It is one of the few places in Hong Kong where children can walk, cycle or skate to school. The many ways in which Discovery College supports learning and prepares students for later life are too numerous to list, but I believe you will get a sense of our school community through this website and by reading our biannual Shi Jie Magazine. Discovery College is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and offers the three IB programs: Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students 4-10 years, Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students 11-16 years, and Diploma Programme (DP) for students 16-19 years. DC’s Guiding Statements consist of our Vision Statement (with Guiding Principles) and Powerful Learning Statement, which help to define what is important for us as a school. These are underpinned by the IB Mission, IB Core Values, and IB Learner Profile. At Discovery College we believe that powerful learning and teaching occurs under a shared spirit of respect, which dignifies and prizes our diversity of experiences and perspectives, reaches into our traditions as well as into the future, excites a passion for ongoing inquiry and strives to help all learners reach for enduring excellence. The design of the Discovery College campus respects the context and natural environment surrounding the site. Older residential developments are perching on the hilltops to the south and west. The building form steps down towards the sea with a series of open terraces. The intention was to create a building that blends in and harmonizes with the surrounding natural terrain and minimizes the obstruction of sea views enjoyed over many years by our neighbors. In response to requests from residents, significant redesigning of the structure took place to further reduce the visual impact of the structure.
  12. St. Lawrence College offers British education to children ages 3-18, in a modern purpose-built campus set in more than 20 acres of glorious countryside in southern Athens. The school’s stunning location provides the ideal setting for unpressurized learning. It is served by an excellent communications network that provides easy access to pupils based across the entire Athens-Piraeus conurbation. In this peaceful rural setting, complete with first-class resources and facilities, children can develop their study skills and achieve lasting and meaningful learning. The education our pupils receive is based upon the English National Curriculum and British educational values throughout, from pre-school through junior school (Key Stage 1 & 2) and senior school (Key Stages 3-5), with IGCSEs being taken at the end of Year 11 and AS & A-Levels in Years 12 and 13. The vast majority of our pupils progress to UK universities, while others choose to embark on their higher education experience in the US or elsewhere in the world. Under the guidance of an outstanding body of teachers, our pupils succeed in reaching far more than their academic potential alone. They become citizens of the world, fully equipped to recognize and respect diversity, either in their immediate society or within the global environment to appreciate and utilize the opportunities provided for them, and to understand the value of being an active and considerate member of their community. They forge bonds of friendship within an inclusive environment of pupils from more than fifty nationalities backgrounds. Our school is one community, united in our respect for each other and ourselves tolerant of differences and proud of our diversity honest and positive about our learning and behavior every day. We promise to provide an environment that gives our pupils the best possible opportunities to develop as happy, curious, independent, and eager life-long learners, who believe in themselves and in their limitless ability to learn who are considerate of others and their needs and who care about their responsibilities as young citizens within a shared community and a diverse society. We will help our pupils gain appreciation and respect for the education itself, and for the amazing opportunity, they have been given by attending St. Lawrence College. When they eventually progress on from our school, every one of them will leave us fully equipped to face the world and its challenges.

    Byron College

Byron College was established in 1986 by a group of idealistic parents and teachers. They believed that there was a need for a school in Athens that would provide a British Education that was egalitarian and inclusive and would pursue academic excellence while maintaining the highest standards of self-discipline, behavior, and community participation. The pupil body is now just over 400 and is divided relatively equally between Primary and Secondary pupils. These pupils come from over 50 different national backgrounds, but about half of our children are permanent residents of Greece. The language of instruction is English, and pupils follow a program of study that is necessarily based on the UK National Curriculum. Given the nature of our pupil body, we have a secure EAL section, attention is paid to the needs of our Greek parents, a range of modern languages is offered, and the History and Geography syllabuses are designed to reflect the international character of our pupils and the obligation to produce citizens with an awareness of global challenges that our society faces. Byron College is one School on one side, and all children share the same day and the same school holidays. The School accepts children from the age of 3, and many stay with us until they leave to study at university, aged 18. During their time with us, pupils from Nursery to Year 9 will follow a broad-based curriculum based on the UK Key Stage modal and in Year 10 will begin a 2-year cycle of study leading to the sitting of IGCSE exams in Year 11. Our Sixth Formers (Years 12 and 13) are prepared for university and college entrance through the dedicated teaching of AS and A-Level GCE subjects. Part of the School's unique character is that children across a range of ages can mix safely together to be involved in the joint activity. Our senior pupils can develop a sense of responsibility toward the young alongside their obligation to be community leaders and positive, healthy role models. Formal qualifications are obtained at the School via the following examination bodies. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (Years 10 and 11). AS and A-Level General Certificate of Education Exams (Years 12 and 13). These qualifications are awarded by the University of Cambridge International Examinations Board. Byron pupils can also enter for the exams conducted by the Greek Ministry, Ellinomathia. Byron College is the leading School in Athens founded on the British tradition of academic excellence while embracing a global perspective. As we grow, we continue to welcome pupils from a diverse and enriching range of cultures and backgrounds. We are consistent in our efforts to discover the talents inherent in every child, inspire creativity, and encourage individuality. Our highly qualified staff is dedicated to building confidence in our pupils by celebrating their many accomplishments and maximizing their potential. Byron pupils - past and present - are a living testimony to our successes individuals who benefit their community, society, and the world of tomorrow. We are a vibrant element of the community. Our pupils act as ambassadors who uphold and promote our altruistic philosophy and environmental commitment while striving to build bridges among cultures. In the spirit of Lord Byron, Byron College is bold, egalitarian, boundary challenging, and adventurous. Byron College is a British international school in the northern suburbs of Athens comprising pupils from diverse cultural backgrounds. Our pupils have inspired learners who develop into responsible, confident, motivated young adults. We aim: To maintain high expectations from our staff and pupils To instill a robust set of moral values To engage the future through evolving technologies and innovations in education To sustain the positive sense of a caring community while the School develops. To enhance the range of academic opportunities as facilities and departments continue to develop To continue being a powerful, positive voice in the local community and in a broader national and international context, sentiments founded on our appreciation of the country we live in To foster an environmental conscience To generate an atmosphere of mutual respect. We promise to continuously reflect upon our School, adapting and changing for an even better future.

  19. Tucked into a glen in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland, our informal and welcoming campus provides an educational home for a lively and talented community of students and teachers. Conversations that start in the classroom spill over into the courtyard, leading from one insight or question to the next. Our students discover and develop their intellectual and creative voices in an environment where high standards are the norm, and the inquiry spirit is palpable. College Prep students come to the school from over fifty different middle schools to learn with and from each other. Guided by inspiring teachers and mentors, they create a vibrant community rooted in shared values of kindness, respect, and a willingness to learn from others' perspectives. They care about each other and the broader world in which we live. College Prep's educational results go far beyond impressive college outcomes. Our graduates shine in their intellectual resilience, a deep sense of interconnectedness, and an optimistic appreciation of possibility. At College Prep, we believe in the foundational importance of scholarship, the value of dialogue, and the need for academically curious young people to belong to a kind, creative, diverse, and joyful community. We challenge our students to engage deeply in learning, appreciate one another, and grow into adults who are intellectually adventurous, ethically sure-footed, and generous of heart and spirit. Guided by Mens Conscia Recti, "a mind aware of what is right," College Prep develops each student's strengths and capacities through an education based on ten core beliefs. We value the individuality of our community members and our egalitarian school culture. We believe that high expectations, kindled curiosity, and dedicated effort encourages students to discern excellence and strive to do their best. We affirm that deep learning requires patience, creativity, reflection, and practice. We cultivate an awareness of self and others rooted in respect and empathy and emphasize the importance of taking responsibility for one's impact and actions. We work in a collaborative environment that gives young people opportunities to take risks, express themselves, and appreciate others' perspectives and gifts. We embrace the variety of backgrounds and life experiences within our community and recognize that the rich expression of diversity is essential to a meaningful education. 20. Strake Jesuit is a Catholic, four-year college preparatory school for young men grades 9-12. The school was founded in 1960 by the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, a religious order of priests and brothers, also known as the Jesuits. The Jesuits bring over four and half centuries of tradition and commitment to academic excellence. Located in southwest Houston, the school physically resembles a small college with its various buildings spread around its fifty-two-acre campus. This provides the school community with numerous outdoor grassy spaces and shaded areas for gathering and personal enjoyment. The current student population numbers just over 1,100. Faculty, staff, and administration total over 110 yielding a student-to-teacher ratio of 10:1. Also, fifty-seven percent of the faculty have advanced degrees in their areas. Ninety-one percent of the student body participates in extracurricular activities directed by numerous schools school faculty members. The student body–with forty-five percent of minorities–and the staff reflect Houston's diverse character. To ease the tuition burden for their families, approximately 15% of the student population receives assistance from a financial aid budget of $1.8 million. The first day a student steps foot on campus, he begins actively working with his teachers, coaches, and counselors to practice the ideals of Jesuit education – to become a Man for Others. We often talk about being a Man for Others at Strake Jesuit because it is part of Jesuit education's rich spiritual and intellectual tradition. For nearly 500 years, Jesuits have been teaching, coaching, and forming students to be loving, religious, committed to doing justice, intellectually competent, physically fit, and open to growth. And in Houston, we have been faithfully dedicated to that mission at Strake Jesuit since 1960. Our students commit to intellectual growth, and they learn to lead by being engaged in our school community and beyond. They also experience the joy and responsibility of serving others by completing a minimum of 155 service hours during their time at Strake Jesuit. Whether in the classroom or together on retreat at our Retreat and Leadership Center, competing on one of our athletic teams, our outstanding debate team, or in our accomplished music programs, our students are cultivating values and learning skills that we believe will prepare them not only for college but for life. The Strake Jesuit graduate is approaching the threshold of young adulthood. Leaving the childhood behind has involved anxiety and embarrassment and taking fearful first steps into sexual identity, independence, first love, or first job. It has also involved physical, emotional, and mental development that brought out strengths, abilities, and characteristics adults and peers began to appreciate. During the four years before graduation, he began to realize he could do some things well, sometimes very well, like playing basketball, acting, writing, doing math, fixing or driving cars, making music, or making money. There have also been failures and disappointments. Even these, however, have helped the student to move toward maturity. Fluctuating between highs and lows of fear and confidence, love and loneliness, confusion, and success, the Strake Jesuit student at graduation has negotiated during these years many of the difficulties of adolescence. On the other hand, the graduate has not reached the maturity of the college senior. During his senior year of high school, he is especially beginning to awaken to complexity to discover many puzzling things about the adult world. He does not understand why adults break their promises, how the economy "works," or why there are wars, or what power is and how it ought to be used. Yet he is old enough to begin framing the questions. And so, as some of the inner turmoil of the past few years begins to settle, he looks out on the adult world with a sense of wonder, anxious to enter that world, yet still unable to make sense of it. He is more and more confident among his peers. He can more easily read the clues of the youth culture of which he is a part. Furthermore, he is independent enough to choose his response. As for the adult world, he is still a "threshold person," cautiously entering adulthood. View full school
  21. Welcome to St. John's – a faith community formed in the tradition of educational innovator St. John Baptist de La Salle. St. John's has become synonymous with quality, diversity, leadership, and service throughout the years. All St. John's programming derives from our Lasallian mission to learn from and serve one another. What makes Catholic education in the Lasallian tradition exciting and unique is that it emphasizes holistic personal growth and innovative thinking, strengthening and continually transforming the school community. Viewing today's world through a Lasallian lens creates compassionate, forward-thinking individuals prepared to excel and make meaningful contributions to the greater community. In November 2015, we unveiled the 20-year vision for St. John's – a vision that encompasses both the facilities our students require and a forward-thinking curriculum to secure their success in college and life. One aspect of the master plan, launched in the fall of 2015, was the new Entrepreneurial Center for Innovation and Leadership, a one-of-kind four-year curriculum at the high school level. Built upon the success of our alumni and St. John's core values of leadership and service, our students have the extraordinary opportunity to develop their creative and innovative thinking skills further. Furthermore, in May 2017, the first phase of the master plan was completed. The new facilities include the Donatelli Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, a 15,000-square-foot space that includes renovated and expanded professional art studios, classrooms, individual practice rooms, and elevator access to the Cap Mona Family Student Center and Gleaner Courtyard, which provide multiple places for our students to gather as a community to create, explore their passions and put their faith into action the black box theater complex, which encompasses a director's office, dressing rooms, storage and the Gene Morrill Black Box Theater for small, intimate rehearsals and performances and the Lasallian Center for Mission and Ministry, which supports our ever-expanding Christian service and retreat programs with a shared student lounge, conference room, and private offices. Faithful to the charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle, St. John's College High School is an independent, Catholic preparatory school whose mission is to provide quality education to young men and women from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. St. John's is a community of faith and zeal, which seeks to respond to youth's needs through Christian education. At the core of the St. John's community are dedicated Lasallian educators committed to the students' academic, spiritual, cultural, and physical development. Rooted in Christian values, the Lasallian experience prepares young men and women for lives dedicated to leadership, achievement, and service to the community. At St. John's, the enthusiasm students have for their school is found in classrooms and clubs, on stage, in concert, and on athletic fields. Because of its size, St. John's offers ample opportunities to get involved through various clubs and other extracurricular activities. By graduation, nearly every student has participated in at least one sport and at least one club. The experiences outside the classroom help our students develop lasting friendships. Also, involvement in extracurricular activities strengthens students' sense of community. View full school
  22. St. Ignatius College Preparatory is more than merely a high school. It is a community of lifelong learners that supports students as they develop into thriving adults. With a commitment to intellectual excellence, leadership, service, and justice, our students strive to respond courageously to the opportunities and challenges of our time. Through a rigorous and integrated program of academic, spiritual, and co-curricular activities, St. Ignatius educates all aspects of our students according to the Jesuit philosophy of Cura Personalis, cares for the whole person. St. Ignatius College Preparatory is a Catholic, Jesuit school serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1855. Through a rigorous and integrated program of academic, spiritual, and co-curricular activities, St. Ignatius challenges its students to lead lives of faith, integrity, and compassion. Students are enriched by a diverse and loving Christian community and are called to become life-long learners who develop their talents for the greater glory of God. With a commitment to intellectual excellence, leadership, service, and justice, we strive to be men and women for and with others, responding courageously to the opportunities and challenges of our time. Under the Jesuit ideal of social justice, St. Ignatius College Preparatory fosters a community of understanding, respect, and inclusion of students of all backgrounds. SI promotes respect for all forms of diversity and strives for solidarity within the entire school community. Studies have shown that, regardless of socio-cultural backgrounds, all students exposed to diversity are better at critical thinking, problem-solving, interacting with a diverse workforce, and becoming effective and empathetic leaders and agents of change than their counterparts who had little exposure to diversity. Through education and awareness, SI provides students the opportunity to honor and understand the diverse world in which we live to cultivate empathetic, influential leaders, and agents of change. Since 1855, we have been offering the young people of the Bay Area an education based on the philosophy of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. The Jesuit philosophy of education is centered on the reality that God is present in all things – from the beauty of nature to an algebraic formula's intricacy! A large part of what we do each day helps our students learn to understand how God is alive in their daily lives. The men and women – both Jesuit and lay – who serve our students and their families, are exceptional educators. Our community is blessed with a rich tradition steeped in the care of each individual. Our ultimate desire is to help form young women and young men into the people God is calling them to be – people for and with others. St. Ignatius is committed to integrating meaningful technologies into the curriculum. We invest in making available to students the experiences, resources, and connections to explore current and emerging technologies. To that end, our teachers invest time and purpose in assessing the value of these technologies, including Canvas, our learning management system, mobile devices, online/blended learning instruction, robotics, coding, and engineering. We work towards ensuring these technologies are used with purpose and support our school's mission and strategic direction. We believe in supporting our teachers to be both enthusiastic and curious life-long learners in a digital age. St. Ignatius is also committed to addressing the gender gap in technology by leveraging our connections in the Tech industry through our alumni and strong network here in San Francisco. We do this to provide connections to innovative and inspiring speakers for girls interested in pursuing their interests in STEM fields. View full school
  23. In 1938 in Belmar, New Jersey, Dr. Percy Crawford founded The King’s College to provide a challenging liberal arts education, a deep, meaningful understanding of biblical faith and prepare students to take their education and understanding into the world and its strategic institutions. The King’s College stands firmly rooted in the grand tradition of the animating ideals of Western Civilization, and yet fully engaged in the debates regarding the future of our society. For more than 75 years, the College has produced graduates who lead and bring real change to the strategic public and private institutions worldwide. Through its commitment to the truths of Christianity and a biblical worldview, The King’s College seeks to transform society by preparing students for careers in which they help to shape and eventually to lead strategic public and private institutions, and by supporting faculty members as they directly engage culture through writing and speaking publicly on critical issues. We educate young leaders to seamlessly integrate their faith, ethics, and morality into their lives and careers. Students are immersed in challenging academic and spiritual study that demands thinking, communicating, and problem-solving with the mind, heart, and soul. We require engagement with complex ideas to guide society's strategic institutions — government, commerce, law, media, civil society, education, the arts, and the Church. We participate in a demanding curriculum and present unique opportunities to students in the heart of New York City. We are not a college for the timid soul — we value bravery, commitment, and action. One of the great strengths of The King’s College education is the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum. Students explore a wide range of ideas and topics, but most importantly, they study the relationships between ideas, generating interest in and recognizing the value of multiple disciplines. Our fifteen minors support each major of study so that students graduate with an impressive, agile intellect and a dependable ability to influence our culture. View full university

In doing so, we provide quality optometric care to more than 150,000 individuals annually and serve the community through a network of health care organizations and access to vision screenings. Our comprehensive vision centers, NECO Center for Eye Care, are part of the NECO Clinical Network, the patient care, and the clinical education affiliate of the College. New England College of Optometry is a small, independent graduate institution that currently enrolls students from 34 states and eight countries. Our Boston location provides access to a richly innovative and active higher education and the Boston area's healthcare community. We are looking for agile, committed people to join our community to support our world-class optometric education and patient care experience programs. Although our school is small, our impact is enormous. Through community partnerships such as the Boys and Girls Club of Boston, clinical rotations in our network of community health centers, and medical missions to provide eye care in other countries, our students have the opportunity to impact the health care of the communities in which they serve. We provide vision care to more than a quarter of a million people in the world each year. New England College of Optometry has an active Board of Trustees that provides leadership and oversight to the College and advises the President. Members of the Senior Administrative Team also support the President. For over 120 years, the New England College of Optometry has been educating optometrists. Initially founded in 1894 as the Klein School of Optics, NECO is the oldest continuously operating Optometry school in the United States. At New England College of Optometry, we prepare future doctors for the complexities of practicing in the real world by providing students with great professional experiences. Whether through comprehensive patient care in team-based health delivery models, intense cultural immersion within our extensive clinical network, research focused on improving patients' lives, or debating public policy for eye care, we educate and prepare the profession's future leaders. Throughout their education, our students make an immediate and lasting impact on the community while serving their patients. At the heart of our commitment to preparing students for successful careers is our applied approach to learning – we provide students with early and diverse clinical experiences to reflect and reinforce the knowledge they acquire in the classroom. Students receive a strong academic foundation in visual, ocular, and systemic care. At the same time, they experience various patients and community settings through clinical work in community health centers, private practices, schools, and veteran's hospitals. New England College of Optometry is located in the heart of Boston. This vibrant city allows students to intern in hospitals, community health centers, medical centers, and private practices and gain access to the world's best medical facilities. The opportunities for applied learning in a clinical setting are unparalleled in diversity and number. Students have an experience as diverse as Boston itself. Clinical rotations throughout the city and the country allow students to prepare for their careers, not just seeing patients, but through the whole process of patient care. At New England College of Optometry, we believe experience is everything. We provide great academic, clinical, research, and student experiences to help you become a great doctor. We provide education not for those merely looking to start a career but for those looking to lead the profession. At NECO, we give optometry's future leaders the confidence, skill, and knowledge to practice effectively and expertly anywhere in the world. At NECO, we foster a community that provides opportunities to question, challenge, and explore. We believe great optometrists are compassionate and skilled practitioners, thoughtful collaborators, innovative diagnosticians, and lifelong learners. Our curriculum is designed and continually enhanced to reflect the optometric profession's evolving needs and public health. We combine classroom learning with extensive work in a variety of health care settings throughout our clinical network. These allow you to learn, explore, and hone your abilities as a doctor of optometry in Boston's innovative and active healthcare community. Great doctors understand the people and communities they serve, the ever-changing inter-professional health care environment, and the new technologies for diagnosing, treating, and managing vision and visual disorders. We prepare doctors for optometry practice today but ready to adapt to discoveries, innovations, and patient expectations for future practice. We offer seven-degree programs to meet the needs of our students. These programs are carefully designed to prepare future optometrists by providing a strong foundation in visual, biomedical, and clinical science and integrating this with diverse patient care experiences.
