  1. At Sekolah Ciputra our Motto is Non-Scholae Sed Vitae Discimus: We learn not for school but life. This affirms our commitment to life-long learning in a real-life context. We place our emphasis on holistic education. The curriculum is broad and balanced with programs that support the growth of the developing child, encompassing academic, ethical, social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs. Students are guided to become independent learners and well-rounded individuals who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to prepare them for life in the 21st century. The school’s programs support students to be compassionate citizens who are respectful and accepting of cultural diversity while retaining and valuing their own culture and language. We take pride in the many activities and learning opportunities our children are exposed to. Additionally, our facilities are internationally first-class. Every classroom at Sekolah Ciputra has a Smartboard or large screen TV and every teacher at the school has completed training to ensure effective use of technology. Ciputra Hall, our Performing Arts Centre has a seating capacity of 710 and uses state of the art technology to serve the students of Sekolah Ciputra as well as the wider community. Our new Pre Elementary School will open in January 2018 and will accommodate the increasing enrolment of our younger students. In the last few years, teams of our students have competed in the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Regional Rounds in Surabaya, Bangkok, Dubai, and Singapore, and then on to Yale in the US for the Tournament of Champions. Sekolah Ciputra hosts a Regional Round of WSC which attracts over 240 students from 13 schools. The school also competes nationally and internationally in the Model United Nations (MUN). Students have many opportunities to explore the world around them. Some engage in video conferencing for the Model United Nations, some support and attend environmental workshops around the world, whilst some go overseas on cultural exchange programs. Students can learn a musical instrument from our qualified tutors, enjoy a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, and, of course, play many different sports both internally and as representatives of the school. We maintain a very active website that highlights student participation in a wide range of activities. Academically, last year was the best year in the school’s history. In the IB Diploma Programme examinations, 91% of our IB Cohort achieved the full Diploma. We had three students achieve over 40, including a school's best score to date of 42. The average grade in the DP has been increasing steadily over the last five years and sits above 5 (from a maximum of 7): a wonderful achievement for students the majority of whom complete the examinations in their second language. This truly fits with our mission. Students of Sekolah Ciputra are proud of their national identity, embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship, celebrate cultural diversity and possess the skills, integrity, and resilience to participate in a changing global society. Vision students of Sekolah Ciputra are proud of their national identity, embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship, celebrate cultural diversity, and possess the skills, integrity, and resilience to participate in a changing global society. Sekolah Ciputra is the largest single-campus International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and the only IB school in Surabaya and East Java to offer all three International Baccalaureate programs. These programs span the years from Play Group to Grade 12. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) provides the educational framework for our students in Play Group, Kindergarten, and the Elementary School, the IB Middle Years Programme for Grades 7-10, and the IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11-12. Currently, students going into Grade 11 are also able to choose a Science or Humanities strand in a two-year School-Based Programme which leads to local matriculation. Students graduating from the IB Diploma Programme find that their opportunities at tertiary institutions around the world are enhanced because the program is widely recognized and highly regarded. Our graduates are enrolled in leading universities around the world, in the United States of America, Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Europe, and Indonesia, studying a range of courses from Business Management and Economics to Engineering, Science, Medicine, Information Technology, Communication, Art and Design, and Tourism and Hospitality. Sekolah Ciputra provides a rigorous education with a strong international focus, one which enables students to take an active role in any society while retaining and valuing the customs and traditions of their cultural backgrounds. The curriculum is broad and balanced with programs that support the growth of the developing child, encompassing social, physical, ethical, emotional, and cultural needs in addition to strong academic development.
