Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, as it is now known, was initially established in 1896, following the Royal wishes of King Rama the Fifth to set up a secondary school based on the typical public school of the United Kingdom. It was formally called "King's college" and located at Somdej Chaopraya Borommaha Srisuriyawongse (Chaung Bannag) 's residence. The meaning of the word residence in Thai is "Ban," which led to the name "Bansomdej Chaopraya" later. Over the following century, the University has significantly developed. In 1995 we were highly honored to receive a Royal Award as Thailand's most outstanding Institute under the Ministry of Education's higher education category. At this time, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej bestowed the name "Institute of Rajabhat." The Rajabhat Institute later became Rajabhat University, following the Royal Command of June 14, 2004. This gave as a current title Bansomdej Chaopraya Rajabhat University. The University officially has all the honors of other State universities to provide education from kindergarten up to doctoral degree level. In BSRU, Art and Cultural Centre Meeting Hall was built during the era of King Rama VI. It is a modern 2-story meeting hall designed by Western architects. It has 1000 traditional style seats. It was awarded the Excellent Architecture Conservation from The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage in 2012 and accepted the award from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Presently, this hall is preserved as the University's cultural heritage. The Art and Cultural Centre Meeting Hall is currently preserved as the University's cultural heritage. Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) 's mission is to uphold a "World Class Quality University" by pursuing education, learning, and research at the highest international level of excellence. BSRU seeks to attract a diverse group of exceptionally competent researchers and academic experts across the nation and around the world for academic and research cooperation. To uphold the World Class Quality based on world-class quality knowledge management. To create academic professionals and ASEAN citizens with good moral character. To develop a diverse group of exceptionally talented personnel as leaders from across the nation. To uphold the University as academic learning resources in languages, arts, cultures, and sports. To uphold the University as the Research and Academic Hub in ASEAN and the World. To develop the International Language Centre. To encourage research and learning in various fields of languages. To establish the ASEAN Studies & Resources Center. To build the international standard campus based on economic sufficiency philosophy and international knowledge. The University aims to create "Cream of the Crop," or the high capacity graduated in Thai, English, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Sciences, etc. To create an educational, supportive environment with "Green" and "Clean." Bansomdej Chaopraya Rajabhat University will consolidate its position among 1 of 150 Asian Universities in 2019. It will operate actively for world-class quality education. BSRU will assist the visiting international professors and researchers who are planning a research stay in Thailand. BSRU provides assistance relating to research and provides information and guidance on a wide range of visa and entry requirements and general information about research in Thailand. BSRU encourages the cooperation between the world-class and the national researchers in various fields, such as the Thai Royal Project, ASEAN, and Asian Region. We host international researchers & experts to research in Thailand in various fields as ASEAN study, Sciences, Linguistics, Management, Education, etc. We will offer meals and accommodation, visa correspondence, and a Bangkok trip for researchers, scholars, and experts, including spouses. We seek for staff development cooperation in continuing Ph.D. education, academic and research training, workshop, official academic leave such as academic position documentary writing, research operating, etc. We are glad to promote cooperation in academic and research auditing between our University and international institutes.BSRU seeks to establish ASEAN Studies & Resources Centre. The center is devoted to strengthen, deepen, and emphasize academic and cultural research and study. BSRU plans to develop an Outstanding Campus to promote the "Cream of the Crop" project. Its mission is to improve students' effectiveness by developing knowledge and humanity under volunteer Royal fellows, experts, and English native instructors. The students will be funded and facilitated in the educational supportive "Green" and "Clean" environment and economic sufficiency philosophy of the King to achieve excellence.
