The Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS) is a multidisciplinary University. It has establishments throughout the Alpes Maritimes. Each year it welcomes over 25,000 students. It has over 2,700: over 1,600 teachers professors-researchers and tutors over 1,100 administrative staff (library staff, engineers, administrative and technical staff, service or health workers) The Université Nice Sophia Antipolis has some essential advantages that make it very attractive to students and researchers. It is research-intensive (it is among the top 3% of universities worldwide in this respect), multidisciplinary, and international (nearly 20% of registered students are foreign). The UNS’s ability to organize itself to access the significant funding programs will determine its future. This objective necessarily involves a site strategy. The establishment of the Université Côte d’Azur will serve as the fundamental alliance necessary to coordinate this academic center for higher education and research and become a candidate for the Investing in the Future Programme (PIA). The Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, with establishments throughout the Alpes-Maritimes, is home to 9 Training and Research Units, 2 institutes and 2 schools (Polytech Nice Sophia, Ecole Supérieure du Professorat et de l'Education). A multi-disciplinarian University with a health faculty, the Université Nice Sophia Antipolis boasts 1,300 researchers distributed throughout 51 laboratories covering all the main research fields, including 21 UMR (Mixed Research Units) and 19 EA (Reception Teams). The UMR is associated with the leading national research establishments, the CNRS, the IRD, the INRA, the INRIA, the INSERM, and the CEA. All laboratories welcome French and foreign doctorate students and provide excellent working conditions.
