About Me

  1. Calrossy Anglican School is a leading educator in New South Wales. A Calrossy education is one shaped on a focus of success and wellbeing for every student, at every stage, from Preschool through to Year 12. It is a journey where every individual girl and boy is valued and supported to learn, grow, and serve and be prepared for life beyond school. Calrossy, located in Tamworth in northwest NSW, boasts a unique "diamond" structure deliberately designed to ensure the best education for students at each stage. Calrossy has grown to house more than 1000 students, it now features Primary, alongside Secondary Boys and Girls and Boarding. The Diamond Model means all students are taught in Prep to Year 6 on the sprawling rural William Cowper Campus (WCC). Girls and boys are separated in Year 7 to 10, with the boys on WCC and the girls on the Brisbane Street Campus, in the heart of the city. They combine again for a co-ed Year 11 and 12 across both campuses. This means the curriculum, wellbeing, sport, and co-curricular activities can address each gender's learning styles and specific needs of each gender, especially in the crucial junior high school years. Calrossy is a dynamic, caring, and Christian environment where boys and girls may grow to be adults of faith, integrity, courage, and compassion, with a love of learning. Calrossy Anglican School is a leader of New South Wales through excellence in education and connection to the community, with a Christ-centered focus. Calrossy Anglican School seeks to create a dynamic, caring, Christian environment in which girls and boys may grow to be adults of faith, integrity, and compassion who value learning and pursue life with confidence and initiative, committed to excellence and truth. Calrossy Anglican School is a "Diamond School," meaning boys and girls are taught together until Year 6, separately from Year 7 to Year 10, then combine for classes in the senior years. To consolidate our Christian journey Calrossy Anglican School focuses on four core values: Integrity Selflessness Inclusiveness Resilience View full school

  3. The Arden learning journey commences with an engaging Pre-School program for three and four-year-old girls and boys. Our program offers young children the ideal environment to prepare for more formal schooling. Our Pre-School is licensed to cater for a maximum of 25 children per day and operates between 8.30 am and 2.45 pm. We have three full-time staff on duty each day. In general, children who are three years old by 1 February attend on Thursdays and Fridays while children who are four years old by 1 February make up the older group and attend on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. At Arden, each child in our care is recognized for their unique gifts and is treated as an exceptional individual. Our Pre-School curriculum is an exciting first step as we encourage children to become lifelong learners. We provide a Christian, nurturing, and educational environment for children to prepare them for the future. Our Pre-School curriculum is developmentally appropriate and based on the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Learning in the Primary School is focused on the provision of exceptional teaching in literacy and numeracy to foster each student’s proficiency in these areas. Student learning is enriched and broadened through our science, Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE), music, languages, art, library, computing, and physical education programs. Our original Christian context means students are also encouraged to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and in exploring or developing the Christian faith. Arden follows secondary school curriculum set by the NSW Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards from Year 7 to Year 12. The curriculum initially allows for a breadth of experience and then for a higher concentration on a student’s passions. 4. Established in 1912, Anglican Church Grammar School, known internationally as Churchie, has as its central mission the development of young men of good character, strong intellect and generous spirit who will move confidently into the global community and who will use their talents and gifts to lead and serve others. Churchie offers a wonderful variety of learning experiences in local, national and international settings. As an academic institution, we deeply value intellectual and scholastic pursuits and recognise our role, in partnership with parents and the community, in assisting our young men to develop habits that will enable them to continue their pursuit of knowledge and learning throughout their lives. Churchie’s four founding tenets of academic excellence, spiritual awareness, personal growth and service remain at the core of day-to-day activities. Our values, centred upon the Christian faith, are expressed through a commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, serving and personal development, bound tightly by tradition, culture and community. As a school community, we are dedicated to celebrating achievement, character, creativity and effort across a vast range of academic, sporting, cultural and service pursuits, believing that every boy can achieve success and benefit from a broad, liberal education. Churchie men have for many decades been viewed as well-prepared gentlemen, scholars, athletes, musicians, leaders and servants, who are prepared to make a worthy contribution to the communities in which they live. A visit to our beautiful campus will reveal a dynamic and purposeful atmosphere as young men and staff go about our core business of learning. Our world-renowned resources, borne of the vision and commitment by so many people for over 100 years, provide an ideal setting for boys to ‘run and grow and learn’ just as Churchie’s founder, Canon WPF Morris, had envisioned. After extensive collaboration with parents, staff and Old Boys, the School Council has released Our Strategy, Churchie’s strategic plan for 2018 to 2022. Our Strategy affirms our identity, character and tradition while targeting key areas on which the School will focus in the coming years. This will advance our mission and continue preparing our young men to be leaders, learners and servants for the world beyond Churchie. Churchie’s mission is ‘The making of men’, which aims to develop young men of good character, strong intellect and generous spirit who will move confidently into the global community and who will use their talents and gifts to lead and serve others. We achieve our mission by pursuing balance across Churchie’s founding tenets of academic excellence, spiritual awareness, personal growth and service. As an organisation with over 100 years of tradition, we value: Future-focused learning and thinking A balanced curriculum Emotional intelligence, wellbeing and resilience Tradition, culture and community Commitment to excellence Respect, compassion and support Openness and integrity Our Strategy is driven by a focus on five strategic areas within which we will advance our mission and continue preparing our young men to be leaders, learners and servants for the world beyond Churchie. With world-class facilities, future-focused learning programmes and research-based teaching, we strive to encourage the whole school community to excel and grow. Churchie’s partnerships with leading universities such as Swinburne and The University of Queensland, continue to develop, enabling tertiary-inspired programmes and research for students to learn from. With the emotional intelligence and pastoral programmes, the effective implementation of the new Queensland Certificate of Education (ATAR) and the delivery of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Primary Years Programme, Churchie students are continually challenged to develop courage, skills and resilience to further strengthen the possibility for excellence in all fields. Churchie has an extensive programme to develop staff professionally, believing that lifelong learning should be modelled. Staff are encouraged to vigorously pursue professional interests and many hold, or are undertaking, higher research degrees at leading universities. With increased staff activity in key research areas, data collection, analysis and publication, Churchie staff will continue to strengthen their existing synergies, improve teaching and learning practises, and be supported in their continued learning endeavours. The School will focus on a balance across the four tenets (academic excellence, spiritual awareness, personal growth and service) to promote the development of the whole person and, indeed, the making of men. The learning environment at Churchie challenges students to consider not only their academic journey but their position in a community and how they will apply their talents and gifts beyond the classroom to lead and serve others. Churchie offers a wonderful variety of learning experiences in local, national and international settings, including academic, cultural, service and sporting tours to Europe, America, Asia, South Africa, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. Churchie offers the study of Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and French, recognising that our young men will need to be well prepared to compete and flourish in the global community. The delivery of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Diploma Programme also enables Churchie to provide a rigorous, world-class curriculum to prepare internationally minded young men. The Old Boys' international network will play a vital role in Churchie's globalisation and the opportunities for boys. Providing opportunities for continual learning to all staff, not just teaching staff, is a key strategy to ensure that Churchie has, in all facets, a flourishing, creative and innovative community, able to support one another and the students in our care. The key initiatives involve delivering the built environment master plan and providing exceptional facilities in which our students and staff can learn, teach, work and grow. View full school
  5. Welcome to the All Saints Anglican School, So what are some of the influences that guide us as a school in our policy and decision making? In a rapidly changing, often inconsistent world, it falls to our schools to imbue the young with a sense of purpose and a clear set of values. The primary role for any school must be to instill in its pupils a sense of personal and collective integrity, which can stand firm in the shifting sands of technological innovation and materialism. Education, which is, by definition, a dynamic and proactive force in society, has undergone a transformation inspired by the rapid onset of information technology and the consequent shift in societal expectations about how young people should learn. The challenge for contemporary educators is to embrace much greater flexibility in both the individual learning styles of students and in curriculum and syllabus design. All Saints Anglican School is ideal for offering such flexibility, with its commitment to the regular curriculum and syllabus review, and it is the innovative, intellectually curious staff. The pursuit of academic excellence must necessarily form a fundamental tenet of independent schooling. However, where this is done without an accompanying concern for the individual's spiritual and emotional development, it can become barren and meaningless. We believe the exact role of educators in the world is to prepare people to lead fulfilling lives, whatever their academic potential may be. One of the keys to this lies in the development, preferably during one's school years, of both a sense of self-discipline and a genuine sense of altruism. Our Vision All Saints Anglican School is a world-class Christian school where everyone joyfully reaches their full potential. In this School, students and staff members will act confidently and considerately, rejoicing in the knowledge that they are giving their best in a community where they belong and are valued. They will be aware of the integrity that flows from balancing their spiritual, academic, social, physical, emotional, and creative impulses. A sense of wellbeing and optimism will characterize all aspects of school life. Our Mission To have passionate, sensitive, and intelligent staff who are nurtured and inspired to work together to fulfill the vision of the School. Every member of the All Saints community is aware of the vision of the School and of their role in enacting that vision. Regular, honest, and thoughtful communication between all community members reassures stakeholders who know they have a voice that is valued and heard. The School is open to all students irrespective of ethnic or religious origins and is dedicated to: The education of the whole person The pursuit of excellence The fostering of enquiring minds through a broad but well-balanced curriculum will enrich students' lives through the development of initiative, character, and personality. The curriculum encompasses all of the planned and guided learning experiences offered to the students by the School. The individual student with his/her needs, abilities, and interests is the center around which the curriculum is developed. The curriculum at All Saints is designed to provide a continuum of experience and knowledge acquisition from Pre Prep to Year 12. Emphasis is on the education of the whole person - intellectual, cultural, physical, and spiritual. All Saints offers a Junior School, Middle School, and Senior School. Each section is semi-autonomous with its Head and Administration within a combined Pre Prep-Year 12 School. This separation of the School into three semi-autonomous groups - Junior School (Pre Prep-Year 6), Middle School (Years 7-9) and Senior School (Years 10-12), enables All Saints to: Enhance and further develop curriculum and support structures appropriate to the students' developmental and intellectual needs Extend the Pastoral Care system which caters for the needs of each student and Expand specialist facilities, tuition, and support necessary to complement the child's growth and development. 6. Wollondilly Anglican College was conceived out of the need to provide Christian education in an environment that encourages excellence. With over 900 students, it has grown to be a College of choice for those in the Wollondilly Shire and surrounding districts. They seek reinforcement of family values and life skills, self-discipline, and broad educational options. The College promotes academic excellence. There is a differentiated curriculum to provide extension opportunities, and the EDGE Academy caters for acceleration by subject or by grade. We are blessed with an experienced staff of dedicated professionals, selected from many applicants. The College provides for the education of students from Pre-Kindergarten (4-year-olds) to Year 12 and offers specialist facilities to cater to all core subjects and a variety of academic electives. Modern, technology-focused, comfortable, air-conditioned learning facilities accommodate all classes without any portable or demountable buildings. The controversy surrounding the values that schools teach is never far from the media spotlight. It has even been suggested that some schools are value-neutral. I would challenge this assertion. All schools pass on values to students. Parents do not choose schools based on a presence or absence of values but instead based on the quality of values that are in evidence. Wollondilly Anglican College espouses the virtues of traditional Australian Christian values. These include freedom for students to shine, the development of God-given talents, and a family environment exemplified by quality pastoral care and a sense of community. The spectacular, award-winning grounds and modern, stylish uniforms are testaments to pride in staff, students, and parents' belonging. This is enhanced by an emphasis on a safe environment, where students have a right to personal security and are encouraged to share responsibility for others' safety. Wollondilly Anglican College is one of 17 schools operated by The Anglican Schools Corporation. It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational College. Located in pleasant rural surroundings at Tahmoor, about 60 minutes from Sydney's CBD, it strives for educational excellence in a Christian context and includes modern, permanent, air-conditioned buildings. Vision Statement is Wollondilly Anglican College endeavors to provide a disciplined, caring, learning community where students and staff pursue excellence and lives are transformed for Christ's glory. 7. Welcome to Peter Moyes Anglican Community School. We are a school that aspires to excellence, enabling students to achieve their full potential and pursue their chosen pathway. We aim to be a school where all students become successful learners, confident and competent individuals, and active and informed citizens. We provide students with an academic, sporting, cultural, and religious environment that offers a wide range of learning experiences and opportunities. Engaging in learning experiences within and beyond the classroom is an expectation for all our students. We believe that students' full and varied involvement best promotes their ability to discover and develop their talents, interests, and capabilities. Peter Moyes Anglican Community School is a proud member of the Anglican Schools Commission network of schools. The school opened in 2000 and has proliferated and developed a distinct identity in its relatively brief history. The school is set in northern Perth's coastal area with fantastic panoramic views of the nearby Indian Ocean. Our students enjoy an excellent campus with high-quality facilities, supported by a hardworking and dedicated team of staff assisting them in reaching their full potential. Across each of our Sub-Schools - Primary (Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6), Middle (Years 7-9), Senior (Years 10-12) - students and staff work within a distinct pastoral care structure that aims to meet the needs of their respective students best. An integral component of the school is the development and expression of the Anglican tradition's values. We seek to develop a sense of grace and Christian purpose in our students' lives. Students actively contribute to the school's Anglican life through their participation in weekly Chapel, Religious Education classes, and Eucharist's marking significant events on the Christian calendar. I hope you enjoy the snapshot of Peter Moyes Anglican Community School's life and times that this website provides. I think you will find that a sense of connection and community is palpable in our students' informal photographs as they participate in the events that make up the School calendar. Suppose you and your child are excited by what we offer here at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School. In that case, I invite you to take a tour to see first-hand our community of confident, resilient, and engaged learners and to talk with our motivated and innovative staff. At the opening of Stage Three of the School in 2002, Mr. Peter Moyes spoke of his wish that a student named in his honor would display: "Personal excellence with compassion for others." Accordingly, the School wishes, in the Anglican tradition, to foster, model, and build the following values within its students, staff, and the broader community: Knowledge & Insight: The pursuit of truth through organized learning is conducted to emphasize collaboration and honesty. Equality & Compassion: Where all have the same value and rights as others in such a way that each can be oneself and enable others to be themselves in a spirit of equity, trust, and the acceptance of diversity. Integration & Wholeness: All work to develop the inner capacity to organize the mind, body, and spirit into a coordinated, harmonious whole. Confidence, Competence, and Responsibility: All have real confidence that they can achieve positive and are personally accountable for the development and fair use of those skills, exhibiting respect for others' rights. Self-worth: All know that others they respect and esteem know them and affirm that they are worthy of their care, respect, and protection. Members of the School community are encouraged to explore Christian beliefs, think, feel, and respect differences without denouncing other identifiable value systems. We aim to develop each person's faith within a community framework to assist each in their own spiritual and social development. The school aims to focus on the whole person's needs – intellectual, aesthetic, moral, spiritual, emotional, physical, and social. These are incorporated in the total range of activities experienced at the school, commonly known as curriculum. The curriculum includes the formal academic component of school education, developing knowledge and insight into the world of learning, and integrating experiences from various sources such as the Co-Curricular program. All students can learn. Learning is best conducted in a safe environment, where mistakes can be made without ridicule. School life's focus must be a holistic one that includes the full and balanced development of each school community member. A healthy balance must exist between school and home life demands for all students, staff, and parents. Learning is best when the learner integrates experience, imagination, information, and application. Regular feedback is vital for teachers, students, and parents. Students are recognized for their uniqueness. Our sense of community is built around the quality of relationships between staff, students, and parents. Therefore, it is partially dependent upon staff welcoming parents into the school as much as possible and associating with them on other occasions. Students need to communicate clearly and work with other students, staff, and parents. Parents need to be involved with the school as much as possible, taking an active interest in developing their own and others' children. Our school is committed to demonstrating an open and inclusive approach to all aspects of School life. Entry to the School is non-selective, and the school seeks to demonstrate a democratic approach to the education and participation of its students in all School activities. The Anglican tradition and the School's Vision and Values for its students reinforce this inclusive school environment's commitment. View full school

  9. One of the challenges parents face when deciding where to send their children to school is 'How do we choose?' Education today has changed, and parents should not use the learning experiences and methods they had as students to measure what they believe is the best today. Today's global, digital, and collaborative world is what students are already engaged in and need to be prepared for. Penrith Anglican College prepares students for a bright future, from the inquiry-based, student-centered learning in Pre-K classrooms through to the various academic and co-curricular opportunities offered throughout the Primary and Senior years, including our impressive Music and Performing Arts programs. Our Year 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to choose between the Higher School Certificate or the globally recognized. The Anglican Schools Corporation established Penrith Anglican College with a clear vision: to encourage students to live with purpose and develop a personal faith in Christ. That founding vision remains at the heart of our College. In 1994, John Lambert, the NSW Assistant Director-General of Education, recognized a need in the rapidly growing Penrith area for a low fee, academically excellent Christian school, and felt the Anglican Church could fill this gap. To educate students to become informed and responsible global citizens who follow Christ and serve others. Penrith Anglican College was established in 1998 with a clear vision – to educate students to live with purpose and develop a personal faith in Christ. The College seeks to provide an innovative, rigorous, and Christ-centred education that encourages a culture of personal excellence through inquiry, learning, and achievement. Penrith Anglican College provides a broadly inclusive and nurturing community, where students are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the College. Many opportunities are available to students to develop their unique talents to serve the College and broader communities – now and in the future. The College stands for personal excellence and a progressive approach to learning, preparing students for the future, and a life of purpose through Christ. At Penrith Anglican College, every student is encouraged to strive for personal excellence and grow as a forwarding thinker. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) College, we adhere to the IB Learner Profile. We believe these values help our students become responsible and active participants in our local, national, and global communities. Penrith Anglican College offers a range of activities and opportunities to develop these characteristics. As IB Learners, we encourage students to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. At Penrith Anglican College, we believe that caring for and developing the whole child within an environment of Christian care is essential. As well as nurturing excellence in academia, sports, the performing, and creative arts, the College highly values the well-being of its students. The College believes that humans are made in God's image, and so all human life is valuable, deserving of care and respect. Motivated by the example of Jesus Christ, students are encouraged to value themselves, relationships with others, and God. We believe the most effective way we can equip our students to strengthen their well-being is through implementing an evidence-based Pre K-12 Positive Education framework. Positive Education encompasses the science of Positive Psychology in conjunction with the best practice in teaching and learning within an educational setting (Green, Oades & Robinson, 2011). It encourages educators to look at the whole child, helping students to develop holistically through a proactive approach (Waters, 2011), building on the capabilities God has given humans. 10. Few joys can match walking alongside a child as they grow from toddlers through childhood and into a young adult. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, and family friends share in the excitement of watching first steps, hearing first words, pasting first paintings on walls, watching the first team sport, musical performance, dance concert or reading their first book. The pride matches this excitement from various transition points through that child's life as a student and into the world beyond school. At Overnewton College, all staff members share in this joy, too, because we work and walk alongside families in this journey with their children. Families provide the most crucial relationship in a student’sstudent’sstudent'sstudent's life. The family provides the moral, spiritual, and relational framework upon which a young child grows. The College and broader community work together to support the family and, therefore, our students' growth. All members of the staff are personally committed to living by the beliefs and principles contained in the following statement: The fundamental truths of Christianity are contained in the Bible. The Bible declares that there is one God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The purpose of the Bible is to bring people to salvation by trusting in Jesus Christ and to teach people the right way to live so that they may be thoroughly equipped for every good thing that God wants them to do. Jesus Christ was in very nature God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, was crucified, dead, and buried. He rose again on the third day and will one day come again to judge the living and the dead. Only by faith in Jesus Christ can people be saved from the consequences of their sin, have the assurance of forgiveness, the Holy Spirit's presence in their lives, and eternal life. View full school

The Sydney Anglican Schools Corporation had a very similar vision. They had established affordable fee schools in the western suburbs of Sydney and Milton on the South Coast. The Corporation was searching for a suitable site to expand its schools' network. For twenty-six years, the Nowra Information Centre stood tall on the outskirts of Nowra. When the Shoalhaven City Council decided to sell the site, including Apex Park, this seemed ideal for a new Corporation school. View full school

  20. Welcome to Walford Anglican School for Girls, where, for more than 120 years, educating and caring for girls has been our priority. Our school is a vibrant community where students happily engage in learning. With the support of highly qualified teachers, students are encouraged to think critically, communicate courageously, and develop a deep respect for themselves and others. At Walford, learning and teaching is our focus. Teachers provide regular feedback on student learning and use data obtained through an assessment to inform and refine their practice. Our curriculum, which is internationally recognized, aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to participate in an ever-changing world. While the academic results of our students are consistently excellent, our school offers so much more. It is a place where girls realize that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to. From an early age, students are encouraged to take on leadership opportunities. They enjoy a broad range of cultural and sporting activities and are actively involved in community outreach projects. Our campus has been carefully planned to promote the sense of belonging, which began in the family home of Walford's first Headmistress, Miss Adamson, back in 1893. Friendships are easily facilitated across year levels, and each girl is known by name and valued for her unique talents and strengths. Beyond Walford, our students continue the friendships forged at school. They join a network of accomplished Alumnae who remain connected with their school, wherever they are in the world. Excellent girls' schools continue to be in the press because they are educating students who gain outstanding academic achievements and because their girls become strong, confident women. Our strategy Towards 2020 serves as the framework upon which future priority setting and decision making is based. It guides the school's operational initiatives, which are reported to our community at the end of each year. We were delighted by all who chose to provide their input, which saw more than three thousand pieces of information collected. In recent months, the Walford Governors, with the Executive Leadership Team's support, have worked to distill this feedback and articulate our plans for the future. Walford was founded in 1893 by Miss Lydia Adamson in her family home in Fisher Street, Malvern. Under her astute leadership and then that of Miss Ellen Benham, who encouraged the sciences, the school flourished. The family ethos of early years remains a distinctive characteristic of Walford today. Hundreds of schools opened in those early first decades of Adelaide's settlement. Walford is one of the few who survived the Depression and continued its growth to become a leading girls' school in Australia today. In 1917 Miss Mabel Jewell Baker bought the growing school and moved it to its present site. Miss Baker fostered a sound scholarship reputation from a religious base and encouraged students in the arts, sport, and co-curricular activities. She also introduced the Old Scholars' Association (1918), the Prefect system, the Parent-Teacher Association, and the school motto, Virtute et Veritate. At the end of 1955, when Miss Baker retired, Walford had 450 students and a well-established boarding house. Walford was incorporated as a Church of England Girls' Grammar School in 1956 with Miss Nina Morrison as Headmistress. She was followed by Dr. Helen Reid AM (1972-1991) and then Mrs. Marilyn Haysom (1992-2004). As the school grew, adjacent properties were purchased, and an extensive building program was undertaken. In May 2004, Mrs. Helen Trebilcock became the first Head of Walford to use the title of Principal. Mrs. Trebilcock had a strong commitment to girls' education and was respected by her peers for her energetic, inspirational, and dedicated approach to her work. Until her retirement, she reinforced Walford's reputation for encouraging the pursuit of excellence in every student. In October 2012, Ms. Rebecca Clarke accepted the Council of Governors' invitation to become the eighth leader of Walford. Today Walford aims to provide an adequate education for girls through rigorous and challenging teaching, an extensive and varied co-curricular program, and a supportive and encouraging Christian environment. The love of God, tolerance, and compassion for others is modeled across all College areas. The Habits of Mind and the Spiritual Compass are models of attitudes and behaviors to complement the Biblical teaching of the Christian Ethos. Matthew Flinders Anglican College's origins are to be found in the deliberations of the Rural Deanery (Sunshine Coast) of the Anglican Church of Australia. The Foundation Committee of the College decided on the name "Matthew Flinders" to recognize one of our distinguished explorers' spirit, in the same way, that James Cook and Charles Sturt have Universities named after them. The College aims to promote individual excellence with a school community based on Christian principles. The College motto "Faith, Skill, Endeavour" evokes the spirit of Matthew Flinders and the values that the College is attempting to instill in its student body. Founded in 1990, the College is a separately incorporated independent day school that commenced with 160 students in Years 5 to 8. Since that time, the College has built a fine reputation as an educational institution of excellence and, in 2015, has a total enrolment of 1,315. The demand by parents for the type of education we offer at Matthew Flinders is increasing, in part, due to the type of citizens we encourage our students to become. View full school

  23. Mamre Anglican School is a co-educational Prep-12 day school. The school is committed to achieving high academic outcomes for its students and growth in understanding of the Christian faith. Parents and students need not be Anglican. However, they must be supportive of the school's school's Christian philosophy and practice. The school is owned and supported by the Sydney Anglican Schools Corporation, and operational policy is vested in a School Council. Daily operational matters, including staffing and the various educational programs, are the responsibility of the Principal. A Christian School is striving for academic excellence and a love of Jesus." MAS seeks to develop the uniqueness that is in every child. We want students to use their gifts to serve the Lord and the Australian community. MAS strives to equip students with personal, academic, and technological skills to excel in their chosen fields. Students are encouraged to grow towards leadership in their families, communities, and the workplace. Our school offers a Christian perspective in all teaching programs within the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curricula. The school provides programs in all Key Learning Areas from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school concentrates on the fundamentals of a good education: literacy and numeracy because they are foundational to all learning. Over the last four years, Mamre has proliferated. The school's policy is to develop full classes and break them down into smaller groups, making room for further growth. Where classes need additional support, either because of numbers or the particular needs of students, we are in the habit of providing additional aides in the classroom. Essentially the school is still on a path of growth so that the actual number in a class cannot be stipulated until that growth is complete. Finally, our policy ensures that, with additional support, no child is left to their own devices. The School endeavors to foster in all students an appreciation of the creative arts. Consequently, Music, Visual Arts, Dance, and Drama are taught to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. From Year 3, all students learn a musical instrument. Visiting music tutors provide tuition in a variety of instruments. The school is a member of CSSA (Christian Schools Sports Association). Students can represent the school in several team sports and Swimming, Athletics, and Cross Country. Also, each student from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 10 participates regularly in Physical Education lessons. MAS endeavors to model the Christian faith, and students are encouraged to adopt Christian values. All students attend a weekly Chapel service and are involved in the school's Christian Studies program. The school emphasizes care for each student and the development of each student's student's God-given talents. MAS teaches that there are absolutes of right and wrong, true and false, and urges students to seek the methods of reaching the truth through their curriculum studies and a close examination of god's god's word, the Bible. The school requires the highest standards of behavior, courtesy, and dress. Corporal punishment is not administered at MAS. The school is beautifully established on 22 ha in a rural area in Kemps Creek. It has air-conditioned classrooms and a large oval and playing areas and tennis, basketball and netball courts.
