  1. Board of education organizers is August 17, 1945, Education Foundation Surabaya abbreviated YPTA. YPTA was established on August 17, 1954, that was initially built in SMA and SGA. The Foundation was founded by several people who think nationalists are aware of society's condition and the new Indonesian nation regardless of occupation. The founders of the Foundation to realize that during the Dutch and Japanese colonial period, the public can enjoy a minimal education. Therefore the established Foundation engaged in the field of education, in order: "Come seta national life in order magentas society of ignorance and poverty, to realize a just and prosperous society." On November 10, 1958, Selection of majors tailored to society's needs and the determination of the curriculum under the direction of the Institute of Public Administration (LAN) in Jakarta. In 1962 merged with the University of Surabaya AANN August 17, 1945 (UNITA) Jakarta's position as a branch under the name "Academy of State Administration and Commerce University Surabaya Branch abbreviated AKADIANN 1945. In 1964 AKADIANN developed into the Faculty of State Administration and Ketataniagaan (FKK). During the period 1963/1966 established the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Social and Political Department of Publication, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. All of the faculty Mercatus registered and is a branch of the University of August 17, 1945, in Jakarta. With the establishment of the Education Foundation August 17, 1945, Surabaya Deed R. Yuliman Reksohadi No. 14 dated May 30, 1966, and based on Law No. 22 of 1961 on Higher Education (State Gazette of 1961 No. 302), UNTAG Surabaya split off and is no longer a branch of Untag Jakarta. With the enactment of Law No. 2 of 1989 (State Gazette 1989 No. 6), the National Education System Law No. 2 1961 is no longer valid. The Ministry approved the UNTAG Surabaya Statute of Education and Culture of Indonesia with SK. No.0722 / u / 1977, dated December 31, 1977, had to be adjusted again. Statute UNTAG Surabaya now is the statute that changes by the existing development, especially Law No. 20 of 2003 and No. 60. 1999. The university's vision is the realization of value-based Unggul University and National Character in the Year 2035. The university's mission is to implement Tri Dharma College, which refers to the standard of higher education on national, regional, and international levels. University strengthens good governance (Good University Governance). Empower (empowering) university resources and establish networks (networking) with institutions in the country and abroad to optimize the implementation of Tri Dharma College. Instill and foster moral values, academic, cultural, and national character Indonesia for academicians. AIM is to Produce graduates whose competence is recognized nationally and internationally. Produce scientific works whose quality is recognized nationally and internationally. Applying for innovative works productive through community service activities in order to improve the quality of human life. Running good governance which refers to the management of international standards (Good University Governance). Having the advantages of a workforce that are empowered to strengthen the competence of UNTAG Surabaya. Has a cooperation network that can optimize the achievement of the Vision, Mission UNTAG Surabaya. Having academicians who beridentitas value and character of the Indonesian nation. We are named after Indonesia's proclamation day of independence, to inherit the spirit of freedom of our nation.
