About Me

  1. The Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union (HKCCCU) is a Christian organization with a long history. HKCCCU was founded in 1915, by the concerted efforts of seven Christian churches, namely, the London Missionary Society, the Anglican Church, the Congregational Council, the Chinese Rhenish Church, the Tsung Tsin Church, the Methodist Church, and the Baptist Church. In 1948, the Union was registered as a legal organization (Hong Kong Register of Societies No.1025). At present, there are around 306 member churches and a total of more than 200,000 Christian members. Since its inception, the HKCCCU Education Committee has been providing all-around Christian education using forums and youth camps. HKCCCU has established scholarships for theological education and it publishes a weekly newsletter, “Christian Weekly,” which provides a channel for churches to express their views. On its 85th anniversary, HKCCCU created its first school to realize the teachings of the Bible and to encourage Christians to serve and be a beacon of hope for others. Logos Academy, a “through-train” school, combines both primary and secondary education. The establishment of Logos Academy expresses the Christian commitment for both the pursuit of quality life and education, as well as the fulfilling the Christian ideal of serving the community. HKCCCU will also continue to serve the people of Hong Kong through evangelistic activities, educational services, medical services, charity work, and publications. Logos Academy is founded on the Truth of the Bible and a global education perspective. It adopts the “through-train” mode of primary and secondary education, takes advantage of the flexibility of the direct-subsidy scheme, and enjoys well-equipped classrooms and buildings with high-tech learning facilities. With these, Logos Academy is in a privileged position to develop into a unique school of character, meeting world-class standards and comparing with high-quality schools around the world. We strongly believe that the heart of education is the education of the heart. Logos Academy is committed to assist our students to pursue an abundant life built on truth, goodness, and beauty. We aim at providing an all-around education leading to students’ spiritual, moral, cognitive, aesthetic, physical, and social growth. The school also cultivates and enhances students’ ability to inquire, reason, self-learn, solve problems, and face the many challenges of life. We aim to cultivate a culture of learning whereby learning is an effective and pleasurable undertaking for students. In addition, we work to ensure that this culture will also be shared among school board members, the principal, teachers, and staff members as well as parents. We trust that life kindles life. On this basis, Logos Academy will serve as a meeting point for talented local and overseas educators to work hand-in-hand in various positions throughout the school. We maintain a strong connection with external organizations, staying up-to-date with the latest educational and scientific research, and implement new educational theories and ideas to ensure our continued progress in the direction of excellence. We also share our practices and experiences with other schools to raise the quality of education throughout the world. The school invites parents to collaborate with management. We will set aside resources to enhance the professional growth of our teachers and to enrich their personal lives. Ongoing improvement and adjustments in the curriculum, teaching methods, and the design of learning activities, assessments, and management will help the school set the right direction to provide quality education for the community. Logos Academy, with two school sites that span over a total of 162,000 sq. ft, is built according to the standard Y2K Primary and Secondary School Design. The campus itself is essential in providing an optimal learning environment maximizing the student’s learning opportunity. Besides the contemporary facilities that support the needs of formal teaching, our campus incorporates a broad range of facilities and resources to inspire their minds in various zones. Their learning process will not be limited to the classrooms. A diversity of skills and knowledge will be developed through their participation in different activities. The greening of the environment is done throughout the campus. Students will be kept in a close relationship with nature. Not only will it provide them with environmental knowledge, but it will also help to achieve a healthy balance between their mind and body. Students are encouraged to exercise regularly to maintain good physical health. We have 6 basketball courts: four outdoor and two indoors in the school campuses to suit different sports activities and/or to host different events. Music cubicles with pianos are provided for students’ use. The rooms are designed to encourage students to appreciate and share their musical experiences. The activity corners are designed to inspire the students’ minds and encourage students’ interactions. It is built in each level of our primary campus, each with a unique theme serving a specific purpose. Different forms of games and activities will be carried out in different corners. Through participating in these activities, the students will be able to develop skills other than those learned in the classrooms.
  2. Hong Kong Adventist Academy offers a Christian educational program from pre-primary to Grade 12. The school is located in Clearwater Bay, the southeastern part of Hong Kong. The majority of students come from the communities of Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung district, and Hong Kong Island, but some of them are from as far as the continents of North America, South America, and Africa. Hong Kong Adventist Academy offers an international curriculum that combines the best features of the American, British, and Hong Kong curriculum. The school is organized into four sections, namely, pre-primary, elementary, middle school, and high school. In the pre-primary section, we offer International Primary Curriculum with added Chinese elements. In the elementary and middle school section, we offer a hybrid of the American common core, International Primary Curriculum, and local Chinese and Mathematics curriculum. In the high school section, we offer a US high school diploma program in affiliation with Griggs International Academy (GIA). Thus, the senior secondary students would be able to graduate with an accredited US high school diploma offered by GIA. Our school does not exist just for the imparting of academic knowledge. An Adventist pioneer Ellen White once wrote “True education means more than the perusal of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man.” Thus in our school, values and beliefs of Christianity are not just tacked onto an academic program – they are foundational and central to everything that happens within our school. We believe that what this world needs more than anything now is men and women of character who are prepared to make a difference, and this includes both teachers and students. In a world that seems to have lost its direction, we endeavor to provide an education program that delivers not only high academic outcomes but more importantly, has a positive eternal impact on our students.
  3. Fairchild Junior Academy is an inquiry-based early learning center where the development of the whole child in a play-focused environment is central to everything we do. Our teaching and learning are based on the British Columbia and Ontario, Canada, Early Learning Frameworks, as well as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) from the UK. Our teachers base their methods on the Reggio Emilia approach to facilitating learning. Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and confidence in each child through an inquiry-based approach to learning. Our vision is for Fairchild Junior Academy to be a place where: The ‘smile index’ is high within an atmosphere of happiness. Children love to come to school every day and know they are valued. Play is integral to learning as well as social, physical and emotional growth. Children build confidence but remain humble. Risk-taking and unfamiliar challenges are welcome. Children are inspired to be creative, curious, adventurous, and inquisitive. The staff is passionate about children and loves to be around them. Staff and parents support children through an inquiry-based, hands-on, and engaging approach to facilitate learning. The environment is the third teacher after the parents and teachers. Children will be fully prepared to enter the best local and international school programs in Hong Kong. Fairchild Junior Academy has been inspired by the fundamental principles of the Reggio Emilia approach and is committed to interpreting these ideas. The child as the knowledge maker, collaborator, and communicator The teacher as partner, nurturer, guide, and researcher Cooperation as the foundation of the educational system The classroom environment as the “third teacher” The parents as our partner in their child’s learning journey Children have a lifetime to be adults we encourage them to enjoy their childhood with playful, interesting, and developmentally appropriate activities. We create opportunities for exploration, creativity, and use of imagination. Growth and development are unique to the individual and are sensitive to each child’s time clock. We believe life is a journey and not a race. A natural drive to play is universal across all young mammals, from lion cubs playfully wrestling and baby monkeys jostling to kittens rolling a ball of yarn. These young ones are exploring their world through play like humans. Play is a crucial vehicle for exploring and learning, developing new skills, building relationships, and connecting with others. The play has key neurological, cognitive, socio-emotional, and physiological benefits for children’s health. Pretend play has been linked to creativity and creative problem-solving. The play has been described as practice in divergent thinking because, in play, children are constantly coming up with new ideas and recombining them to create novel scenarios. Most importantly, play is how children form loving, trusting relationships. There is a close link between play and healthy cognitive growth.

  5. We are founded on the 470-year-old Jesuit educational goal of forming men for others for the Greater Glory of God. Our graduates are leaders in their communities. They strive to be competent, religious, loving, open to growth, and committed to justice. When you meet our graduates, you will find that they are leaders: in the business world, in the arts, in religious life, in politics, in the sciences and technology, in sports, and especially in the community. Our school and Jesuit education aim to prepare our young men to be leaders-- to engage the world, not just to observe it. As you encounter our students and graduates, you see that they are well rounded and confident as they strive for the Magis, excellence in all things. This is part of the Jesuit goal of "Cura personals," the formation of the whole person: mind, spirit, and body. A U of D Jesuit graduate has learned to feel compassion for the victims of injustice and has a sense of urgency to implement societal changes that will help such victims protect their rights and human dignity. He is involved in public service and feels an obligation as a Christian to participate in the building of a humane, civic, and ecclesial community in a way that respects the pluralism of that community. We offer this kind of education because we want our students to do well and make a difference in their world. When the first Jesuit schools were founded 470 years ago, their goal was to do God's work and work with others for the good of all in the Kingdom of God's service. Jesuit education helps students realize that talents are gifts to be developed, not for self-satisfaction or self-gain, but rather, with God's help, for the good of the entire human family. "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam," for the greater glory of God. University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy is committed to providing the highest quality of Jesuit college preparatory education to young men in southeast Michigan. In collaboration with parents, U of D Jesuit will challenge its students to go beyond academic excellence, be reflective, be committed to the service of personal faith, and the promotion of justice: to be men for others. Since 1877, U of D Jesuit has earned a reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to faith and service. In part, this reputation encourages students from the entire Metro Detroit area to attend 'The High.' Attracting students from St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe to the East, Dearborn and Grosse Ile to the South, Plymouth and Northville to the West, Rochester Hills and Bloomfield Hills to the North, the city of Detroit, and all points in between, is only one aspect that makes U of D Jesuit unique. More than 940 students in grades seven through twelve currently attend You of D Jesuit. In 2018, our 168 seniors were accepted into four-year universities, community colleges, or military service academies such as the University of Michigan, Colgate, Boston University, United States Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Boston College, Michigan State, and University of Southern California. Also, they were awarded more than $23 million in scholarships and grants. Since 2000, U of D Jesuit has had more National Merit and National Achievement Semi-Finalists than any other Catholic school in the state. In the beautiful Jesuit tradition, U of D Jesuit is not solely interested in "the numbers" - we seek to enroll a diverse student body of young men who are academically ambitious and who are open to the idea of growing and maturing into "Men for Others." Our goal is to form students who are open to growth, intellectually competent, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice. U of D Jesuit is proudly accredited by the Jesuit Schools Network (JSN) and North Central Association, an accrediting division of AdvancED. JSN initiates programs and provides services that enable its member schools to sustain their Ignatian vision and Jesuit mission of educational excellence in forming young men and women of competence, conscience, and compassion. Our accreditation by the North Central Association demonstrates our dedication to continuous improvement in all that we do. View full school
  6. Union Springs Academy was founded in 1921 and is owned and operated by the New York Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The academy traces its roots to various "home-schools" which began in western and central New York in 1901. The USA is situated on a hill overlooking Cayuga Lake, the largest of the Finger Lakes. The present school campus was formerly a Quaker boarding school known as Oakwood Seminary. Over the years, the campus has grown to include buildings for administration and classrooms, dormitories, church, faculty housing, farm, orchard, and athletic facilities. For over nine decades, Union Springs Academy has provided quality Christian education to young people from New York, New England, Canada, and abroad. It is part of the USA's purpose to educate students for a lifetime. The Seventh-day Adventist Church's unique and vibrant beliefs are present throughout the campus in-class instruction, work duties, behavioral standards, and dormitory life. Daily worship services and Bible instruction enhance the lives of faculty and students alike. Union Springs Academy offers three diplomas and a certificate of attendance. The General Diploma meets the class credit requirements for graduation as outlined by the NY State Department of Education and the Atlantic Union Conference Office of Education. The College Preparatory Diploma requires seven credits in laboratory sciences and analytical mathematics and three credits of a foreign language. The College Preparatory Diploma or the Honors Diploma provides the best preparation for SAT and ACTs and college admissions. Candidates for the Honors Diploma must meet the College Preparatory Diploma requirements and listed under "Honors Diploma." View full school

In 2002 it was taken over and converted into an international boys boarding school to improve intercultural dialogue and the opportunity to access the best universities within America and worldwide. Students came from a variety of countries worldwide and from a large number of states within America. Putnam Science Academy is nestled in the quiet corner of Northeast Connecticut. 11. Preparing children for a faith-based life built on a strong foundation of academic excellence and personal character was the dream of Providence Academy's Board President in 1994. After gathering a visionary group and working for many years, they founded Providence Academy in 2001. As the vision turned into reality, the ground was broken on March 25, 2000, in Plymouth, Minnesota, a western suburb of Minneapolis. As an independent, nonprofit, coeducational Roman Catholic school, Providence Academy opened its doors with a starting enrollment of 206 students. The stately school building is beautifully designed for state-of-the-art functioning and student comfort. Currently, approximately 840 students are enrolled in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. The school employs more than 100 Lower, Middle, and High School faculty and staff, including four full-time counselors (guidance and college), a full-time nurse, and full-time security officers. About 60% of faculty members hold master's degrees, and roughly 8% hold a Ph.D. Providence Academy is approved as a Catholic School and affiliated with the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The school is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) and the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. The State also approves it of the Minnesota Department of Education. Providence is also a member of the MAIS (Minnesota Association of Independent Schools). As a member of the Minnesota State High School League's Independent Metro Athletic Conference (IMAC), Providence Academy offers 25 sports and many additional activities. Approximately 80% of high school students participate in athletics, and many more benefit from additional activities and clubs. Providence Academy is a Roman Catholic college-preparatory school with a comprehensive, core-knowledge curriculum that promotes superior academic achievement, mastery of skills and content, character development, and citizenship within a faith-filled, Christian environment. From the heart of our motto, "Faith, Knowledge, Virtue," Providence Academy develops habits of spirit, mind, and action to prepare students for future leadership invocations and civic life. The faith and morals taught by the Catholic Church provide the foundation for time-honored training in the liberal arts and sciences. An emphasis on the intellectual and cultural heritage of Western civilization highlights principles of freedom and justice necessary for American self-government. The curriculum's rigor instills customs of discipline and assures breadth and depth in students' mastery of educational basics. Extracurricular activities and events incorporate the diverse God-given talents and interests of young people according to our mission. Providence Academy aims to graduate citizens who are good believers, good thinkers, good citizens, good people—in a word, good Christians, prepared to meet American life's challenges and complexities in the 21st century. Providence Academy accepts the governance of moral and civil law. We are a community of individuals who respect the good in each of God's children, in our thoughts, our words, and our actions. We recognize rightful authority. We speak truthfully. We are honest in our work and our dealings with others. We are compassionate, gracious, and courteous to all. We aspire to be citizens who honor God, country, and neighbor. Providence Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national and ethnic origin in administering our educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. The Providence Academy community is a Christian educational community dedicated to serving the needs of our students. Whether those needs are spiritual, moral, or intellectual, we try to be people who serve Christ's Kingdom. Our faculty, staff, and administration see PA's communal focus as helping children become independent adults by educating their minds, hearts, and souls. Such independence only happens when parents, students, faculty, and staff work together toward a joint mission rooted in the Gospel vision of love. Alumni are our pride and joy. They represent everything that our school has worked so hard to foster. They are their parents' and our success stories. At Providence Academy, the Lower School and Middle School core knowledge curriculum specifies what content is taught from one year to the next and encourages mastery of skills based on content. The curriculum incorporates United States history, world history, geography, essential math, science, art, music, oral and written expression, classic stories, and poems. Phonics and traditional math instruction are among the proven teaching methods applied in classrooms. Exposure to foreign languages is offered K-5, with Latin added in 6-7. Small classes ensure adequate personalized attention. Our Upper School's focused curricular philosophy channels students' efforts into classes beneficial for college admission. State-of-the-art facilities enable students to pursue electives such as Studio Art, Engineering Lab, Publications, Photography, Family and Consumer Science, Speech and Debate, Theater, Band, Choir, and Strings. Sports and other extracurricular activities help students develop skills and talents while providing fun outside the high school classroom. View full school
  12. Begun in 1848 as a local school for the children of Andover, New Hampshire, Proctor has undergone numerous evolutions en route to becoming what it is today: a boarding and day school of 370 students serving as a national leader in experiential learning and academic support programs. Taking inspiration from our motto, Proctor Academy creates a diverse learning and living community that values the individual and recognizes each member's potential to stretch beyond what had been thought possible. Balancing academic rigor, structure, and support with students' freedom to explore, create, and define themselves, Proctor encourages students to achieve their optimal growth. A deep commitment to a learning skills program and a strong emphasis on experiential learning is interwoven throughout Proctor's academic, athletic, artistic, and environmentally conscious programs both on and off-campus. Proctor students graduate from understanding the values of honesty, compassion, respect, and responsibility, proceeding with confidence and strategies to become lifelong learners and thoughtful contributors to their communities. Each year gives reason to pause and reflect on the nature of community – what creates it, what allows it to flourish, what makes it resilient, and what makes it fragile. There are moments - locally, nationally, and globally – that challenge community. Again and again, we come to marvel at the latent strength within the Proctor family, whether to support a student in crisis or a faculty member battling a life-threatening illness, or a community after a fire. Proctor's total of its moving pieces operates in conjunction with community aspirations. We are a global school operating in four different countries worldwide: France, Spain, Costa Rica, and China. We are a floating school, voyaging each fall from Gloucester, MA to San Juan, Puerto Rico. We are a rolling school, traveling with ten students through the Southwest and West in pursuit of answers to essential questions around water, big agriculture, border issues, and community, and we are a rock-ribbed New Hampshire school with a commitment to core values and meeting each student where they are. One might think that this far-flung educational landscape dissipates the community, makes it harder to hold together. Not so. Maybe it is because we hire, support, and belief in faculty and staff who can teach their respective disciplines and the needed skill sets to maintain and run a campus successfully and make a healthy community. It requires flexibility. It requires an acceptance of the other. It requires tolerance. It requires being able to look objectively at one's bias. It requires a sense of humor. And it requires a belief that community matters. In a world growing more complex and challenging, the art of teaching community by living community is an essential component, we believe, of a healthy living and learning school. We hope you see this play out in the following pages, and more importantly, we hope that you see this when you step onto our campus. View full school

The TCA programs challenge our students academically, spiritually, and physically and develop in them the skills, knowledge, and wisdom necessary to lead fruitful lives that are glorifying to God. We accomplish this mission first through a robust and integrated academic program. From PreK through twelfth grade, students are taught that God is the author of truth, that Jesus Christ fully embodied God’s truth, and that all subjects or disciplines originate from His creation and lead to a fuller-service of Him and His world. Our academic, aesthetic, and athletic programs are balanced by extracurricular programs designed to foster personal spiritual growth, compassionate human outreach, and healthy leadership development. Each new student is assigned one of our school colors. This then becomes a student’s Eagle Day team. The winner of the day’s events, held each spring, claims the victory flag, which is flown over the school during the next academic year. Vaughn Rd Campus - Grades 6-12 Address: 3240 Vaughn Rd, Ala. 23. The King's Academy is an independent college preparatory school for grades 6-12, which exists to honor and glorify our King Jesus Christ. The King's Academy is a Christ-centered school that inspires academic excellence, servant leadership, and enduring relationships. Graduates of The King's Academy are transformed by Christ, live a life that honors God, and use their gifts to influence the world for Him. Choosing a school for your children is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. At TKA, we listen very carefully and intentionally to parents who repeatedly tell us that they are concerned with developing their child's whole being. We are committed to that development. All school programs are grounded in a Biblical worldview, affirming that proper education recognizes God as the supreme source of all truth, knowledge, and wisdom. Faculty and staff are Christian role models who have been called to ministry and love young people. The King's Academy desires that students have teachable hearts and coachable spirits to grow in Christian maturity. God's Word calls us to do all things with excellence. The King's Academy offers a college preparatory curriculum to develop God's best for each student. Highly qualified teachers who are passionate about their subject will challenge and support all students. TKA promotes academic, artistic, and athletic excellence as part of a balanced and joyous education. Local and global service is an integral part of The King's Academy. We engage students to look beyond themselves and reach out to others in love and compassion. We equip students to share the Gospel and provide students with opportunities to contribute their God-given gifts and talents. All students are encouraged to serve the school community and lead by Godly example. The King's Academy offers a loving environment where students are encouraged to grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ, their families, teachers, and peers. We strive to partner with parents to bring their children up "in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4). Our program includes numerous relationship-building opportunities that create a school culture defined by respect, integrity, and love. The King's Academy admits students of any race, color, and national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate based on race, color, or national and ethnic origin in administering its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. At The King's Academy, teachers and staff have a passion for knowing your students' hearts and building relationships, both inside and outside the classroom. Additionally, the smaller student body, low student-teacher ratio, and parent involvement at TKA give students the support and encouragement students need to grasp complex academic concepts, work to their potential, and get involved on campus. Your child will not be lost in a crowd. The King's Academy offers multiple study tracks, custom-tailored to the individual student's talents and aspirations. Students are encouraged to choose the track that best suits them, whether it be a challenging all-around course of study or tailored to a more specific interest or goal. This multi-faceted curriculum prepares graduates for a college career built on the cornerstones of intellectual curiosity, ingenuity, diligence, and confidence. View full school
