  6. Set up in the year 1954, the Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha has been portrayed by numerous prominent educationists as an establishment more noteworthy than a university because, under its aegis, a child can start its training in kindergarten and continue to procure a degree and also a doctorate in various fields of learning. Simultaneously, the Mahavidyapeetha has not failed to fortify the foundations of our old learning, knowledge, and culture and their application in everyday life. Sanskrit Pathashalas, Yoga Kendras, Spiritual Retreats, Gurukulas, Art and Cultural communities are doing this work. Today the Mahavidyapeetha has developed into a focal point of learning that aides and oversees more than 310 establishments spread throughout Karnataka, neighboring Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. Consistently a great many hopefuls of education and learning join the overlay of the Mahavidyapeetha. 8. On December 6, 1945, among the ruins of post-war Gdańsk, a school of fine arts was created and granted a state artistic academy's status. Although the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk was initially located in Sopot and socially thought of as the "school of Sopot," in September 1955, now as the State Higher School of Visual Arts, it was moved into the Great Armoury – the Arsenal. The vertices of the western façade evidence the initial purpose of this building – obelisks and statues, ferrule-like decorations, and most of all the orbs, exploding with tin flames. In the 1920s, a shopping arcade occupied the ground floor of the Armoury. It was there that the mother of the three-year-old Oscar from the novel by Günter Grass bought the red-and-white drum, which in the hands of the rebellious boy became a tool to make statements about the surrounding reality. The academy's doyens were a group of artists guided by their need to contribute to the rebuilding of the ruins of post-war Gdańsk and to animate its artistic life. Their coinciding views on creation corresponded with stubbornness, passion, and consistent actions, thus promoting the realization of their mission to search for the place of art in society. Fulfilling the Positivist ideal of work at the grassroots, they created an ideologically homogeneous, vibrant circle of pedagogues and artists. This feeling of community, demonstrated by respect for traditional aesthetic values, correlated with the increasing rank of this artistic academy, the activities it promoted, and the undertaking of other, though conservative, initiatives. What is characteristic is that this group of artists, among whom most exhibited moderation and distrust towards transformations, a quality so criticized by the then avant-garde, was inspired by the idea of not disturbing others. Like the Renaissance philosopher Giordano Bruno, they noticed the need not to deny any artistic discipline the right to express itself in its way. The harmony of the world resides in its freedom, objective manifoldness, multiformity, and variedness. Imitating others is undemanding, but it is an art to create according to one's poetics. Nature provides man with wings, and the role of pedagogues is to help him to spread them. It was not long until these attitudes found response. The professors' experience and the passion of youth soon bore first fruits, noticed on different latitudes. Contemporarily, the historical Arsenal in Gdańsk receives a new function as it becomes the Armoury of Art. It is supposed to attract the attention of a complete circle of viewers, contributing to the increasing participation in culture in the metropolis of Gdańsk, and satisfying the ambitions to teach and promote art and culture. The Academy of Fine Arts, as the school is called since 1996, is a home in which art is being born and lives under the patronage of Minerva, who supports the building of a positive image of the demanding profession of an artist in the contemporary world. With their works, the pedagogues, graduates, and students of the Gdańsk academy shape the image of Tricity. In the 1950s, they contributed to the old-town Gdańsk, returning splendor and charm to its monuments. At the beginning of the 1960s, they experimented by clashing poetry and visual art, which found reflection in the students' theatres' activities. From year to year, the identity of the Coast changes. These processes and transformations do not occur automatically. To a great extent, the credit goes to the alumni of the school – painters, sculptors, graphic artists, architects, ceramists, industrial designers, fabric designers, and others. More and more frequently, the viewer is being invited to engage in discussion with the creator – culture is supposed to function in the open public space, and the viewer is its indispensable element, first critic, and, sometimes, co-creator. The effect of the artists' joint efforts will be the cycle of workshops, planned to take place in autumn 2017, which will draw on the utopian ideal of the interpenetration of artistic disciplines, their unity, and common source. Over the 70-year history of the academy constitutes proof that in art, impossible is only that about which we are unable to ask. For us, an art academy with over seventy years of history, culture signifies the mission and responsibility connected with young artists' education. For us, the students are the most important – it is for them and thanks to them that the Academy functions and our work make sense. The incredibly talented graduates of MA studies can develop their artistic, design, or scientific interests during the Cross-Faculty Doctoral Studies. The rich program, scholarships, and cooperation with outstanding artists and researchers open before them completely new horizons, enabling them to look at their chosen discipline from a broader perspective. It would be difficult not to mention every researcher's crucial need to access a rich book collection. The Library provides it, a part of a unitary library and information system of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Its structure is comprised of the Reading Room, Lending Library, and Information Office. The profile of the book collection corresponds with the majors offered by the academy. It constitutes a response to the students' research needs, faculty members, and visitors of the academy. In particular, it encompasses literature from the field of history and theory of art, including painting, sculpture, architecture, industrial design, interior design, and furniture making, graphic art and applied graphics, fabric, clothing, ceramics, glass, artistic craftsmanship, photography, folk art, as well as theatre, aesthetics, philosophy, social sciences, history and theory of culture, and global and regional history – in total, more than 20 thousand volumes. The Reading Room offers access to national and foreign journals. The Library belongs to the Tricity Library Complex and participates in the project Pomeranian Digital Library. Equally important is the other face of culture – open, functioning in the public space, based on dialogue, co-created by artists and viewers. This is why, with attentiveness and engagement, we prepared a diverse cultural and educational offer aimed at all lovers of the art of all ages. View full university

The possibility of obtaining financial state support by the agricultural producer is established both by the Russian Federation laws and by legal acts of those regions in which the activities of the commodity producer are carried out. In particular, it is possible to receive subsidies for the development of the material and technical base (for example, the acquisition of modern equipment), support for plant growing and livestock breeding (for example, the purchase of farm animals, seeds, and planting materials, fertilizers), reimbursement of part of the cost of interest on loans and borrowings, development of design estimates and construction (acquisition, repair, reconstruction) of production and storage facilities, other facilities required for production, storage envy and processing of agricultural products. Thus, the purposes for which grants and subsidies can be provided are very diverse. Financial support is provided to both peasant farms (the head of the farm can only perform duties if he has an individual entrepreneur) and agricultural consumer cooperatives. The exact size of the financial support provided depends on such circumstances as the size of the farmer's funds, the business plan, the expenditure plan, and the amount of money available in a particular region's budget. Regional authorities determine the procedure and amount of receiving a grant or grant. Therefore, for more detailed information on agricultural producers' financial support in your region, you should contact the Department of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Vologda region. College is a match to be made, not a prize to be won. Recommendations may include the selection of a particular school within a college or university. College admission has become increasingly competitive. Students should broaden their choices whenever possible. College Guidance will continue to recommend other schools where we feel our students can maintain an Orthodox lifestyle. For example, this year, HAFTR students applied to Brown University, Drexel University, Northwestern University, Penn State University, Rice University, Rutgers University, Syracuse University, Vanderbilt University, University of Connecticut, University of Delaware, University of Miami, University of Michigan, and schools to which they had very infrequently applied in the past. In addition to assisting seniors in every step of the college admissions process, our expanded College Guidance team provides guidance services to all students in the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes. Each student is assigned to one counselor, who monitors the individual student's academic progress, guides the student in course selection, assists the student in Naviance, and introduces the student to the college search process.
  18. Hillcrest started in 1918, birthed out of a youth revival movement. Calls from churches around the nation inspired the Lutheran Brethren Church to offer a high school option to match their Bible School program. It is with this historical background that we are entering a new century incorporating Classical Christian Education. By the time our students graduate, they will be leaving Hillcrest with so much more than just a diploma. Starting at a new school can be intimidating. We work hard to make your school transition smooth and comfortable at Hillcrest. Nearly half of our student body is new each year. Our Danielsen program, a partnership with the Danielsen School in Bergen, Norway, brings 25+ students each year. In addition to that, Hillcrest enrolls 60 to 70 new students each year. That means you are not the only one who is new. To help students assimilate and make friends, we organize a Welcome Week. The week is devoted to orientation. There are athletic practices, school orientation meetings, and faith-forming services and teachings that help students understand what school is like at Hillcrest. Every student, new or returning, participates in Welcome Week. This starts the entire student body together as we begin the school year. The culture at Hillcrest is warm and inviting, with returning students excited to meet and befriend new students. The teachers are known for their connection with students, and we conduct surveys of our student body to ensure that our students feel cared for and encouraged in their classes. The student life and classrooms at Hillcrest are fun, and you will find it easy to learn and grow in your academic knowledge, relationship with Jesus Christ, and connect with your fellow students inside our program. Our philosophy drives us to help you make friends and build strong mentorship connections. We believe that if you feel cared for, you will be more open to the maturing and growing opportunities that await you at Hillcrest. Hillcrest holds a long and storied tradition: Alumni love Hillcrest. This is partly because students develop and fortify a Biblically-based view of the world that stands true outside the doors of Hillcrest. Hillcrest instructs students to love God's Word, have a passion for the world God created, and be active in His Kingdom. Academic excellence is an expression of worship. As students build an understanding of God's love for them, they are inspired to understand God deeper in their academic pursuits. By building a comprehensive Biblically-based view of Hillcrest's world, Students see that right living involves Biblically-based thinking. It is our prayer that our 18-year-old graduates will not merely attend college, but that they will impact their university with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At Hillcrest, there is a healthy practice of staying in contact with graduates in genuine concern for the spiritual, academic, and social life. Students and staff often write letters of encouragement to recent graduates, and Hillcrest grads visit teachers and staff regularly. In this community, Hillcrest students build muscles to manage life. They share rooms with students from other cultures, learning how to communicate in the face of conflict and cultural differences. These cultures spill over in the classroom. A simple example is that Hillcrest students come from countries that support communism, socialism, capitalism, and tribal ideologies. The Hillcrest classroom holds varied perspectives. Students learn to use logic and to communicate in love inside the classroom setting. The Bible governs the living and learning environments at Hillcrest. Students are taught that every person is made in the image of God and holds special rights. They are also taught that ideas have consequences that impact image-bearers. Ideas are handled with logic, while students are treated with love and support befitting their image that rests in God's character and not the content of an idea or argument. Inside this learning environment, students build muscles that strengthen confidence and equip them for life. Students' sense of self is reinforced in the image of God, where they study and are taught that their value was set in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Inside this framework, Hillcrest students report that their first years of college are completed with confidence, facing difficulties but having the ability to handle the obstacles.
  19. Harbert Hills Academy was established in 1952 as an independently owned and operated twelve-grade school built and maintained on the doctrines and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA). It is the goal and objective of Harbert Hills Academy to offer a Seventh-day Adventist Christian education to all of its students, with a balanced emphasis on the spiritual, mental, physical, and moral development of each student. Throughout this handbook, many quotations appear that were written by Ellen G. White, the pioneering proponent of Christian education for the SDA Church. Students, parents, and academy staff would do well to memorize and review these often, because they support the standards of this school, and help to maintain a sharp focus on our objectives. Our Academy emphasizes personal academic success for each student with a belief that education is most successful when based on the eternal principles of education found in the scriptures and writings of Ellen G. White. Based on solid academic preparation and a passion for service, our students will be trained to help others achieve their best. Our Academy’s reputation will be founded on following God’s plan for education, personalized to each student’s needs, facilitated by a committed staff who have dedicated themselves to understanding and implementing God’s plan for education. We will fulfill this through our Mission: We are committed to fully demonstrating God’s plan for education: focusing on character development, academic excellence, and applied skills, to enable self-reliance, and to know the joy of unselfish service. Our School will strive to accomplish the mission by committing to: Fully following God’s plan for education, challenging young people to pursue their quest for excellence – spiritually, physically, and academically, which will enable them to be of service to man and God. Use spiritual leadership, mission service, practical education, and Christ-centered learning to mold the characters of our students. Our Strategic Plan brings together our strengths to provide a Christ-centered preparatory education that applies relevance through integrated vocational programs. HHA’s strategic direction is guided by the basic beliefs and values inherent in the Mission and Vision of the Academy: Nurture – Providing a place to grow closer to Christ Service – Encouraging students to reach beyond themselves Restoration – Demonstrating God’s power to reproduce His image in humanity Discernment – Teaching students to be thinkers not just reflectors Usefulness – Providing opportunities for hands-on experience Teamwork – Working with parents, staff, and students to achieve maximum progress Balance – Strengthening the body, mind, and character in a harmonious way
  20. At Harrisburg Academy, we view education as a fantastic journey of self-discovery and challenges not only met but surpassed. Our students, preschool through high school, are well-rounded scholars and artists, talented athletes and musicians, and globally-minded philanthropists. They all benefit from the advantages of a small learning community every day -- and the advantages are many. The Academy is the Harrisburg area's flagship independent school and is widely considered the best private school in Central Pennsylvania. We partner with families who value education as a priority in their family setting, seek an institution that encourages deep, authentic learning, and desire an alternative to public and religious school offerings for their child. Our families appreciate the right partnership in learning between student, teacher, and parent thanks to small class sizes. Our student body currently draws from 27 school districts and six counties in the Midstate, representing families of all socioeconomic, racial, religious, and geographic backgrounds. With a strong, college preparatory-focused liberal arts program, we provide a rigorous core curriculum of "reading, writing, and arithmetic," science, the arts, and technology. However, we also incorporate 21st-century learning strategies and innovation into our students' experience. Our institution maybe 234 years old, but we operate as a forward-thinking school of the future. Education is a personal learning journey at the Academy – a journey that is challenging and nurturing at the same time. Our public school colleagues must focus on enabling a group of children to meet an established set of standards determined to be "proficient." On the contrary, as a small school community, the Academy can maximize our families benefit from being small. Most importantly, our faculty and staff know each child, focus on educating the "whole child" through the liberal arts, effectively partner with students and their parents, and achieve an environment that supports deep, meaningful learning with a globally-minded perspective. Our school may be physically located in Central Pennsylvania, but our community's reach extends across the globe. At the Academy, we define global education as the study and discovery of worldwide culture and philosophy, including the subject areas of art, science, music, and history. This approach instills lifelong learning skills and stimulates a desire and enthusiasm to ask questions and to seek new knowledge from a global perspective. One way our emphasis on global education is demonstrated is through our success with the International Baccalaureate Diploma program and the introduction of the IB Scholarship for Summer Study for our high school-aged students. This global perspective is also evident in our student population (including 157 international students from 28 countries since 1989!), our curriculum, and our global outreach. The Academy's numerous unique advantages inspire children in a fundamentally different way to grow, think critically, and treat one another in a caring manner. Our faculty provides dynamic, collaborative learning opportunities that promote discovery, creativity, and innovation while providing the one-on-one attention necessary to ensure each student's success. At the center of the Academy, the experience is its parent-school partnership. We partner consistently with every family in our diverse and globalized Academy community. The student outcomes we measure demonstrate the success of our approach. Our students learn and grow as we ignite a passion for learning that enables them to reach their full potential, develop a strong sense of integrity, and seek to better our local and global communities. Perhaps the greatest testament to our parent-school partnership is our alumni. They live proof of the power of the educational journey that is Harrisburg Academy and its countless advantages experienced through their connection with our school. Although our alumni have since left our campus, they carry the Academy's spirit and its essence at their core, across the globe, in all they do. Our graduates are remarkable people, in part, because of the Academy's role in their growth.
  21. Hawai'i Preparatory Academy was founded on March 12, 1949, when Episcopal Bishop Harry Kennedy and a group of Big Island citizens signed the Articles of Incorporation for Hawai'i Episcopal Academy. The school has grown from five boarding students in a World War II building in Waimea to about 600 students on two campuses encompassing more than 220 acres amid the world-famous Parker Ranch. While HPA is known for the things that make us unique, you will find much in common with great schools around the globe: Firm, supportive relationships with faculty members and coaches who live for the moments when you grow and become stronger through overcoming challenges and bursting beyond imagined limitations A wide variety of excellent academic programs with opportunities for independent study options that will allow you to find and stretch your wings A close-knit peer community built on mutual trust and shared experiences that will cheer you on as you begin to settle for nothing less than personal excellence in the classroom, studio, athletic arena, and on the stage. But, our differences make all the difference. Nowhere else will you be able to experience all of the above, and more, in an environment this diverse and in a community that will challenge and help empower you as we will. We blend these raw ingredients into a shared, often-magical journey of life, work, and play in the surroundings of otherworldly beauty. As you will learn from exploring this site, our island is home to a surprising, unique, and accessible world of landscapes, climates, cultures, and communities, providing tailor-made opportunities for you to discover passions that will inspire you for a lifetime. Our windy perch in Waimea's ranching country, a 2,500-foot saddle between the Kohala Mountains and majestic Mauna Kea, forces us to become deeply rooted in sustaining values while allowing us to see what Hawai'i Island and the world beyond has to offer and build it into your experience. The mission of Hawai'i Preparatory Academy is to provide exceptional learning opportunities in a diverse community honoring the traditions of Hawai'i. Our school community encompasses both day and boarding students. Together, they create a vibrant community where learning occurs everywhere—in class, across campus, and out into our stunning island and ocean. Our local students forge international friendships; our boarding students discover people, places, and ideas that will forever feed the soul and the imagination. We value our students as individuals with immense potential. We take the time to understand different learning styles. Our ultimate goal is to empower each student toward a personal sense of purpose, giving them the tools to thrive in careers that will expect innovation, creativity, global perspective, and a pioneering mindset. We combine a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum with the chance to design and conduct your own high-level, real-world research, or creative projects. Through the Energy Lab, capstone projects, outdoor adventures, and many other programs, we support and empower you to explore your sense of purpose in the world as you prepare for college and life. All your learning takes place within a global school community that is unlike any other. Day students from Hawai'i are joined by boarding students from 17 other U.S. states and 25 countries to build a diverse, international 'ohana (family). From the moment you step on campus, you will feel accepted and appreciated in this safe and welcoming environment where everyone "lives aloha." Hawai'i is traditionally known as a melting pot of cultures and peoples. At HPA, we are proudly local and international. Thanks to a mix of day and boarding students from Hawai'i, the U.S. mainland, and 25 nations, HPA can offer synergies in learning and living that no other school can currently offer. When you join our 'ohana (family), you will enjoy strong relationships with your teachers, coaches, and staff. You will discover lifelong friendships with fellow students. These relationships with people from every corner of the Earth will challenge and transform your view of the world and help you discover the person you are meant to be. Our school community comes together regularly through activities and traditions that include athletics, dorm events, open-mic nights, outdoor adventure, and our annual all-school, four-day Olympics. Whether you leave HPA for Waimea or a distant country at graduation, you will be ready to foster your version of 'ohana—to reach across cultural, social, or other divides and find a connection. These lessons grow more precious every day in our diverse, competitive, and often conflicted world. Here where the sea surrounds us, the land supports us, and the heavens are arrayed above us; we learn to honor and enjoy our place in the more remarkable human family.

  23. At Hampton Roads Academy, you will find an atmosphere of community and learning unmatched and unmistakable. While our mission states that we prepare students intellectually, artistically, physically, and morally for higher education and life rigors, we do so by living within a culture of honesty, respect, and responsibility. HRA students believe in themselves, find value in others, and carry these sophistications out into the world as they grow. They emerge with the skills and confidence they need to make a difference in a complex and ever-changing world. The hallmark of HRA is its cultivation of a community of compassion and excellence that nurtures the student. This community is achieved through a top-quality academic program, personal attention to each student, and an environment that is safe both physically and emotionally. Every student is encouraged to explore various experiences, academic and extra-curricular, from the science labs to the playing fields, to the stage. At HRA, each student is valued and encouraged to cultivate their strengths. We know that our students’ success is built upon the relationships developed in our community. HRA is proud of our dedicated, talented faculty who know the students as individuals who guide them as role models and teach them and inspire them to think creatively, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively. Our graduates go to highly competitive colleges and universities, confident in their abilities and ready to meet the higher education and life challenges. Hampton Roads Academy, an inclusive community of service and compassion, prepares students to excel intellectually, artistically, physically, and morally in higher education and life. Students are challenged by an academically demanding curriculum and supported by a caring, compassionate community. The goal of the Lower School is to develop students intellectually, artistically, physically, and morally. Therefore, faculty and staff incorporate a comprehensive, instructional approach supporting the Academy’s core values of Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Students understand and internalize the qualities that help them grow into caring, successful, and productive citizens. The extensive curriculum is enhanced by the wealth of cultural and enrichment opportunities available throughout the Hampton Roads area. Students are also offered the opportunity to become involved in community service, clubs, and extra-curricular activities sponsored by teachers and parents. College counseling at Hampton Roads Academy begins, in essence, when a family chooses to enroll their child at the Academy. As a college preparatory school, the curriculum is structured to prepare all students for success at the college or university they ultimately choose. The College Counseling Office works with students and their families to guide them through the college search and application process. This process begins in the ninth grade as faculty advisors work with students in planning appropriate courses. Advisors also work with students to balance academics with a range of extra-curricular activities and athletics. College Counselors meet with students and host periodic parent information sessions throughout the ninth and tenth-grade years. Formal college counseling begins in the junior year when students and their parents attend the annual College Night program where families are introduced to the process and the year ahead. Each junior and his or her parents have an individual meeting with a college counselor early in the spring semester to create an initial college list. Over the next year and a half, students and parents continue to work closely with the college counseling staff from the first meeting through graduation. The college counselors serve as resources, guides, and advocates for students and families as they navigate the process of investigating colleges and universities, applying to schools, and making the final decision of where to attend.

  25. Highland Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school offering quality education to grades 9-12 in a rural setting about 40 minutes north of Nashville. Its forerunner was the Fountain Head Rural School which was established on this property in 1907. Until 1945, it was operated as a self-supporting institution, a school and a hospital. Since 1945 the academy has been owned and operated by the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The school campus consists of approximately 400 acres located in a rural area. Included in the school buildings are a classroom/administration facility, boys’ dormitory, girls’ dormitory with the cafeteria on the ground floor, gymnasium, grounds/maintenance building, music building and industrial building. A beautiful church is located next to the campus. Students and faculty join with community for religious services in the church. Also located adjacent to the campus are a long-term care facility, The Bridge at Highland, and the Highland Elementary School. Highland Elementary is operated by the Highland SDA Church and offers grades K-8. The mission of Highland Academy is to develop Christ-like characters and lifelong learners. In the context of the SDA church and writings of Ellen G. White, education is viewed as an essential element in renewing that right relationship with God, and must focus on development of the whole person. Through proper development of the spiritual, intellectual, occupational, social, and physical dimensions, the individual is better equipped for a life of service to mankind. Within this philosophical framework, the student development goals are as follows: Spiritual – To create a safe, nurturing community of learning in which students are exposed to concepts that foster a relationship with God. The goal is for each student to have a “personal encounter with the Lord” as part of their Highland Academy experience. Intellectual – To facilitate student mastery of the core curriculum while developing the cognitive skills of critical thinking, reflective judgment, effective communication, and integration of creative solutions to problem-solving. Occupational – To assist students in developing a work ethic and to attain excellence in skill-based competencies. This prepares the student to enter the workforce by providing experience and a tangible skill set. Social – To provide students opportunities to continue to grow socio-emotional maturity that will enable them to form Christ-centered friendships and make wise future relationship decisions. Physical – To encourage students to take responsibility for their well-being through a balanced lifestyle while developing a healthier mind and body to serve God and others. Our staff has a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people. Visit our Faculty & Staff page to learn a little more about us.
