The school is an Infant/Junior School and therefore caters to children from the age of 3 to 11 years. The Authority has categorized the School as a Dual-stream school. This means that the school can offer English medium or Welsh-medium education. The children in the English classes are taught Welsh as a second language whilst the children in the Welsh classes are taught Welsh as the main medium of communication. Children leave the school in the July following their 11th birthday, to attend a local Comprehensive School - usually Dyffryn Taf or Bro Myrddin.

It is a means of promoting good relationships so that people can work together with the common purpose of helping everyone to learn. This policy supports the school community in aiming to allow everyone to work together in an effective and considerate way.
The school expects every member of the school community to behave in a considerate way towards others. We treat all children fairly and consistently apply this behavior policy. This policy aims to help children grow in a safe and secure environment and to become positive, responsible, and increasingly independent members of the school community. The school rewards good behavior, as it believes that this will develop an ethos of kindness and cooperation. This policy is designed to promote good behavior, rather than merely deter anti-social behavior.
