Ysgol Bro Tegid Primary School is located near Lake Bro Tegid, Bala. The school has stood for over 100 years and has changed quite a lot over the years. The school began in 1905 under the name Bala Primary School, but it’s known to the residents of Bala as the 'Red School' as red is the color of brick. By the end of the century, Bro Tegid was the name on the door. On the school logo, it shows a unique species of fish, the ‘Gwyniad’ swimming in the lake and a boat sailing on Llyn Tegid. In the background is the Aran mountain which stands on the outskirts of Llanuwchllyn. 115 children currently wear a pale blue polo shirt, a navy sweater, and dark trousers to come to school. The school is divided into 5 classes with an average of 23children in each class. At lunchtime, we promote healthy eating every day. We often compete in various sports and support the Urdd annually by actively competing in the Eisteddfod.
At our school, the pupils are allowed to participate in several activities from year to year. We have taken part in a variety of sports, eisteddfods, out-of-school activities and many interesting visits. We are pleased to have the opportunity to take part and we’d like to thank the coaches, organizers, parents, and Friends of the School for their great support.
