St Edward’s College is a Catholic academy (an independent school funded directly by the government, so free of charge to attend), part of the Edmund Rice family of schools, founded by the Christian Brothers and following the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice. The College selects 20% of its pupils based on musical aptitude and is the choir school to Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, many of its pupils are involved in leading choral worship there week by week. The remaining places are allocated according to our admissions policy to young people of all abilities who want to experience a traditional, academic curriculum within explicitly Catholic culture.
