Tadika Diyana is a purpose-built kindergarten offering total development for children. We started in 1985 with four classrooms and have grown to our present spacious premises, which is equipped with 25 classrooms, a computer room, library, cultural room, multi-purpose hall, outdoor play area, playhouse, music room, sickbay, canteen, and field.
Tadika Diyana utilizes a Thematic Teaching Approach in our education program and is guided by the Montessori philosophy. Thematic Teaching is offered both in the morning (English) session and afternoon (Mandarin) session. There are ten academic months each year, and each month boasts a different theme. Themes include flowers, animals, me and myself, me and my family, careers, science and the environment, and so on. The theme of the morning and evening sessions of each month is different.
The teachers, all with a background in Early Childhood Education, use an integrated teaching method combining storytelling, discussion, art, music, pictures, and other non-monotonous activities to encourage children to learn. Children absorb knowledge differently and the combinations of varied teaching methods help create an interest in learning.
Tadika Diyana also offers optional after-school extra-curricular activities such as ballet, art and craft, speech and drama, mini-tennis, mini-badminton, basketball, soccer, taekwondo, modern dance, science discovery class, Lego bricks, agama class, and so on.
Our philosophy is to provide a conducive teaching and learning environment that integrates the best practices in Early Childhood education and to optimize children's potential in a holistic and integrated way. Our ultimate goal is to develop individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, physically balanced and capable of contributing positively to family, community, and environment.
