At CGS we strive to provide an academic setting where every student’s skills and character can flourish to the fullest by encouraging meaningful connections between the classroom and real-life experiences. Our students work in an environment of ongoing inquiry, cooperation, and mutual respect as they acquire a high caliber education and positive life attitudes to contribute to the world they live in.

Established in 1970 and governed by a Board of Directors, CGS is one of Greece’s oldest and most prestigious private schools, providing educational programs from the pre-school to the secondary school level. Located in Pallini, a northern suburb of Athens on a 67,000 m2 campus, CGS has a student population of 1,260. The majority of the student body is comprised of Greek nationals but there is an emerging international and bi-cultural student population. There are 187 teaching faculty across all levels and 154 members of the school administration.

CGS is a multifaceted and multi-level school authorized to offer three International Baccalaureate programs, ranging from the pre-school to the secondary level.

    • Kindergarten Κ-6 / International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)
    • Primary School Κ-12 / International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)
    • Gymnasium / International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) -Gymnasium
    • Lyceum
    • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP)

At the secondary level, students follow the Greek National Curriculum delivered through the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and receive the qualification, “Apolytirio Gymnasiou” and the IB MYP Certificate. Grade 10 (MYP 5) students may choose to follow the Pre-IB DP program alongside their regular studies as preparation for the IB Diploma Programme. The Policies and the Operating Regulations * governing school life and everyday life are formulated through the collaboration of the heads of all levels and the school administration. They are reviewed and updated systematically, and it is thus necessary for both parents and students to be updated at regular intervals. Additions and updated articles are labeled in such a way that they can be easily identified.

Parents are requested to accept the CGS and IB World Schools Policies and Operating Regulations by signing the Re-enrollment Form whereas new parents to CGS should accept by signing the student’s application for registration. The opinions of CGS Parents (Parents & Guardians Association), whose contributions are of the utmost importance, have been taken into account in the formulation of the articles of the Policies and Operation Regulations. For senior secondary level, students decide on whether to follow the Greek National Curriculum, leading to the high school diploma, “Apolytrio Genikou Lykeiou” or the IB Diploma Programme (DP), leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
