At Yorkville High School, we must provide help and care for the students new to Canada. We understand that it is challenging to study complex subjects using the language you have not mastered yet, for we have been through the same road ourselves. That is why all of our courses will have a particular emphasis on ESL education and differentiated instructions.
It is our goal to see you become successful, but not just academically. Our goal does not stop at assisting you to receive offers from universities, and it is to help prepare you for what is to come after you go to universities. However, being accepted by an excellent Canadian university is already not an easy task. That is why we must implore the parents' help and, most importantly, your initiative and passion for learning. Because the goal of education isn't just getting into a university, it is about applying the skills and knowledge you learn from every single class to your future endeavors.
Yorkville Academy is a private secondary school registered under the Ontario Ministry of Education. The primary goal of Yorkville Academy is to help and educate our students in receiving the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) successfully. All Yorkville Academy students must complete a total of 30 credits (18 of which are compulsory), the Ontario Literacy Test, and 40 hours of community service to be granted the OSSD. An OSSD is globally recognized as being equivalent to those obtained from the United States or Commonwealth countries.
At Yorkville Academy, students are taught in an enriched manner, which focuses on developing academic skills to prepare students for entry to post-secondary education in colleges and universities. Our graduates experience great success at leading universities in Canada and throughout the world. Yorkville Academy is conveniently located in the City of Markham (Greater Toronto Area) and is easily accessible via the 401, 404, and 407 highways and public transit. Yorkville Academy offers a wide range of courses, extracurricular activities, individual guidance, and high academic standards. Canada's high academic standards and rigorous quality controls give our students a high-quality education experience that benefits them over the long term.
We are concerned about students' academic, but we are also concerned about the students' personality cultivation. Small class teaching will provide each student to receive adequate attention in class. Teachers and the school will provide the most significant support to achieve a common goal. We believe personality is established by outstanding achievement. YIA's strict management and one to one counseling will help students to better personality. YIA has high admission percentage for the top universities globally, including Stanford and the Universities of Toronto.
We believe "talented people working together will achieve a better outcome" YIA has many well known secondary school partnered for activities program. Through the partnerships, we will organize activities together, allowing a student from a different school to interact and work together to exchange their talents. Unionville Academy organizes social practices that allow the students to fully understand the social and cognitive fully and help improve students' independence and sense of responsibility. Every year our students will participate in all aspects of volunteering work, university campus tours, and internships. These social practices will guide the students in their future goals and career.
We at Yorkville aim to provide high-quality education to our students. We believe that every child has excellent and unique potential, and Yorkville is the place for growth. We will never give up educating successful university students and further leaders. In recent years, 96+% of our graduates have been admitted to universities.
