St Michael's Lutheran Primary School will provide a Christ-centred dynamic and innovative education in an inclusive school community. As a community, we are passionate about learning. We believe that every student can learn and develop in their way and be supported to meet their potential to be equipped for life.
First established in 1839, St. Michael's is the oldest continuing Lutheran school in Australia. Upon starting a new life in Hahndorf, the German settlers founded the school so that their children would be taught the Lutheran faith and German heritage. The school was closed by an Act of Parliament in 1917 at the First World War height and remained closed until its reopening in 1946.
