We daily reflect God's love for us in our interactions with others. We forgive others as God forgives us, and in doing so, we recognize the wrong, seek reconciliation, and begin anew. We display a moral character based on honesty, truthfulness, and faithfulness. We display patience through perseverance and self-control. We are considerate of others, honor their role, and recognize their worth as individuals.

We interact with others fairly and equitably. We work together harmoniously, and in doing so, acknowledge differences but remain focused on achieving common goals. Give selflessly of our time and talents for others. We face the future with confidence, in anticipation of the possibilities God holds for us. We care for and have empathy with the situations of others as we walk alongside them. We encourage all to aim for excellence through realizing their potential.

Lutheran schools have been a part of Australia's education landscape since 1839 and now extend into every state and territory of Australia except the ACT. Lutheran schools have experienced significant growth, which has led to system support at regional and national levels. Lutheran schools are schools of the Lutheran Church of Australia and, as such, are based on the central message of the gospel, namely the good news in that our acceptance by God does not depend on our worth or achievements but his unconditional commitment (love) for us, evidenced through the life and death of Jesus.

The promotion of Christian growth and development in our students is a reflection of what Jesus has done for us. Lutheran schools offer quality teaching and learning experiences for each child to reflect their uniqueness. They are also seen as a community where caring and respectful relationships are developed and become the essential element binding the school community together to live out the school's ethos and values. As part of the Lutheran school system, St Mark's makes a difference as it respects the past, operates in the present, and looks boldly to the future.
