What a Manager, Japan Sales Operation and Sales Enablement Management does at HP:

  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies.

  • Has accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction and people management.

  • Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility.

  • Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' work may involve strategic issues.

  • Recruits and supports development of direct staff members.

  • Manages and controls activities within a single country or a sub-region which is part of a larger geographical Region.

  • Manages at least 4 employees and typically between 8 and 15 direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

As a Manager, Japan Sales Operation and Sales Enablement Management, your major duties are:

  • Process Engineering and Project Management within the Sales Operations Transformation Program to increase sales teams experience and customer NPS and acting as Strategic Planner for Japan Head Sales Industrial Print Sales Operations.

  • Communicates strategic process decisions and plans, program status, issues and workarounds in order to achieve alignment with the top level of the business, function, or region. 

  • Collaborating with other departments ( P&S/Service/Supplies/Sales ) and upper management to identify business goals

  • Leads internal or external programs with significant complexity and risk, provides feedback on programs, and conducts post project evaluations.

  •  Represents the needs of the business, function in Japan on an ongoing basis to drive process improvements, creating and managing automation tools to increase sales process efficiency.

  • Provide recommendations on action to be taken based on Industrial Print HQ strategic objectives, Tool-processes enhancement, or performance metrics.

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to gather business requirements, supporting the design of tool/processes of significant complexity, and understand business/customer impact. 

  • Leads efforts to identifies the need for new processes/tool as well as significant improvements to major processes/tool and drives their development and implementation from HQ into Japan. 

  • Manages a distinct team of exempt individual contributors that support a complex business segment.

  • Lead Change management in Japan for sales, customer, partner & leadership team on process and tools.

  • Be integral to the change management process ensuring adoption of new processes and tools through performance measures.

  • Responsible for setting and monitoring annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.

  • Meets with business leaders to understand and discuss trajectory of the business in Japan.

  • Full accountability in Japan E2E Sales operations functions from lead to Order, Order to Cash as well as invoicing in value complex business.

  • Networks with other groups to share knowledge and drive own team's interests.

  • Develops action plans to address roadblocks or issues affecting team.

  • Follow ethical practices with partner/consumer and partner/customer data.

We are looking for an individual with:

  • First-level university degree or equivalent experience; may have advanced university degree.

  • Typically 8+ years of experience in a business-related function, preferably Sales, Sales Operations, Supply Chain, order management, IT .

  • PMP/Scrum/Agile Certified or knowledge recommended

  • Three + years in a Managerial position with increasing responsibility.

  • Advanced knowledge and subject matter expertise for HP operational processes, industry trends, and customer/partner requirements.

  • ​​​​Advanced understanding of core HP businesses, segmentation, GTM/RTM approach, revenue cycle, quota deployment and readiness cycle.

  • Superior communication skills (i.e. written, verbal, presentation in Japanese and English), leadership, consulting, influence, and negotiation skills. 

  • Ability to lead and experience in leading complex process improvements using industry standard quality improvements tools and concepts, and has thorough understanding of change management processes and procedures. 

  • Excellent program management, problem solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to execute a program within the scope of overall strategies. 

  • Strong financial and business acumen with Japan, with knowledge of TAM, segmentation, sales cycle , sales stages and customer driven sales methodologies for Digital Print Industry. 

  • Strong analytical skills with respect to performance metrics; ability to know when and where to make adjustments to improve or maintain metrics.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including goal-setting, conflict resolution, performance management, budget planning, problem solving, evaluation and employee engagement.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including MS Access, MS Excel and MS Power BI/Apps

  • Ability to problem solve, work well in groups and multitask
