This position is in the CSS (Consumer Services and Solutions) organization that is driving new replenishment service business models like HP Instant Ink, HP Instant Paper & incubating new services. The organizations charter is focused on building lifetime relationships with consumers by offering meaningful products & solutions. HP continues to bolster its strategic investment in services and the group is directly responsible for managing a large portfolio of solutions, growing a strong P&L and continuously innovating to solve for unmet customer needs. Role: PRODUCT MANAGER
This role is for a “classic product manager” responsible for driving new solutions and experiences for HP Instant Ink and/or HP Instant Paper and/or new consumer services. A product manager is the CEO of the product in this team. He / She drives all the pillars of the product management including, customer insights, product strategy, financials and ROI and product execution. Along with these foundational skills, this role is expected to strongly influence product marketing teams on executing the 4Ps and the design teams on the best-in-class customer experience. This is a unique role – it blends in traditional product management encompassing discovery and realization, growth marketing, retention lifecycle solutions & financial management.
Responsibilities: Jack of all trades and master for a few
- Manages the end-to-end product lifecycle (concept to release to refine)
- Drives deeper understanding of the customer via traditional & new market research methods
- Develops the end to end business case for a product/service including clear articulation of the 3Cs, 4Ps, Value Chains and Industry Competition
- Leads and partners with a large group of cross-functional team members towards the successful realization of the vision. Includes R&D, Marketing, Region, Ops, Channel Partners, IT etc. For example, is equally as effective talking to a group of engineers as well as talking to the print category VP at a retailer
- Effectively gets buy-in on the product vision, strategy and commercials from the channel partners
- Is a perfect blend of high-level vs. detail oriented approaches depending on the audience, task at hand?
- Frequently presents to VP and higher on all aspects of the product
- Maintains a relentless focus on data-based decision making, customer insights and execution
- Bring in logical and analytical thinking in problem solving.
- Stays up to date with industry trends to evolve the positioning, experience and offerings
Qualification: MBA preferred. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Business of Technical Field required.
Experience: Brings “Will, Skills and Ambition” to be a Rockstar PM.
- 7 years in product marketing fundamentals
- Demonstrated management skills
- Demonstrated strategic leadership in product design or current product management
- Demonstrated experience working with selling partners, R&D or customers
- Proven experience leading, driving and measuring virtual teams towards a common goal
- Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including senior management
- Minimum 1-year work experience in a general marketing function beyond Product Marketing
- Influence at the vice president and above level, as well as with customers and partners

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $102,500 - $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
