Description -

HP’s vision is to create technology that makes life better for everyone, everywhere — every person, every organization, and every community around the globe. With the heart, creativity, and energy of a startup, and the brain, muscles, and determination of a Fortune 100 corporation, we continue to deliver ground-breaking new technologies to build on our 80+ year legacy of innovation.

Now is a great time to join HP’s Advanced Compute Solutions organization. Our high-performance compute and Emmy-winning remoting software are the foundation for a new Edge business to deliver innovative compute models and workflows to enable hybrid work. Your proven skills to architect, design, execute, and lead software development to support business objectives will drive success in this role. You will have the opportunity to be integral to the success of this new business.

In this role, you will be responsible for software to support infrastructure automation (configuration, monitoring, alerting, and decommissioning), data strategy, and user experience. You will be responsible for balancing near-term deliverables with longer-term scale and crafting a software development roadmap. Mentoring and uplifting less-experienced employees will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Architect secure and high-quality software to deliver scalable solutions while balancing competing priorities and integrating with various components.

  • Formulate and present proposals and recommendations and drive execution consistent with decisions.

  • Ensure customer SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are measured and met.

  • Provide technical and people leadership. Create and drive a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Review and revise development standards for consistency, security, quality, and developer efficiency, including aggressive use of AI tools.

Required Experience and skills:

  • Experience with several different software architectures and proven ability to use innovative and creative solutions to develop software. This includes enterprise software and microservice architectures and API-driven development.

  • Experience with automated test frameworks.

  • Expertise with several programming and scripting languages.

  • Hands-on experience with software development AI tools.

  • Hands-on implementation experience of automation and monitoring/alerting frameworks.

  • Developing for Windows and Linux.

  • Experience implementing and maintaining software to meet uptime and reliability goals.

  • Expertise to learn and integrate with HP’s CI/CD pipeline, UI/UX and cloud frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of bare metal hardware and virtualization.

  • Proven ability to gracefully work with other leaders and to lead less-experienced developers by encouraging and considering different points of view. Lead decision-making based on objectives and trade-offs.

  • Demonstrated ability to update skills to accommodate evolving technology landscapes, specifically with cloud, hybrid cloud, private cloud, and bare metal products. Maturity to understand when learning is required to make solid technical recommendations.

  • Willing to work an operational schedule, as needed.

  • Proven success in working with internal teams and external suppliers.

Education:

  • Technical bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent.

  • 10 years minimum related experience.

HP offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Dental insurance

  • Disability insurance

  • Employee assistance program
