Description -

Global Indirect Procurement (GIP) is the HP corporate function responsible for managing the procurement of all nonproduction goods and service, spanning diverse categories such as marketing, technology, business services, labor.

The GIP Marketing Category Team has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Procurement Category Manager (Expert) who will be responsible for managing procurement category activities for HP within the designated Marketing commodity codes, such as Creative and Brand, Content and Production, Media, Search Engine Marketing, Social Marketing, Retail Marketing, B2B, Public Relations and Executive Communications, Market Research, Web Design, Affiliate Marketing, Branded Merchand etc. The Category Manager will be working closely with the Marketing stakeholders to meet business requirements, maximize value and mitigate risk.

The primary focus of this role is to manage all category/subcategory activities, including category strategy planning, execution, sourcing, supplier selection and award, contract negotiation, supplier and contracts management, supplier development and supply base optimization in line with the stablished procurement policies and processes to achieve specific Category business objectives and designated targets.

Job specific responsibilities:

• Effective management of the designated Category (global and regional level) and provision of centralized category/ subcategory support across the globe covering diverse services portfolio of Procurement activities including:  Negotiation, Risk mitigation, Contracting, Sourcing, Business continuity, Supplier/Spend Management and cost/operational improvement.

• Execute cost savings and value generation projects in accordance with GIP goals and individual targets.

• Provision of day-to-day procurement guidance and operational support to internal stakeholders across all Business Units in HP and Global Functions.

• Solid analysis of category data, industry information/market intelligence, and business requirements to embed expertise and criteria while negotiating and providing a strong procurement recommendation and consultation to our stakeholders.

• Close collaboration with Category and GIP peers and Global Category Strategists to ensure connection and execution of the strategy determined to the specific area of spend.

• Supplier sourcing activities coordination.

• Contract and pricing negotiations and management of different type of supplier engagements.

• Preparation, review and analysis of different type of GIP Contractual documents.

• Risk mitigation through effective contracting, business controls, and on-going risk assessment.

• Participation and involvement in different projects focused on innovation, transformation and business processes improvement or employee engagement.

Education (degree) and professional experience required:

• First level university degree or equivalent experience; may have advanced university degree.

• Typically, minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement,  supply chain functions or equivalent business expertise; previous marketing procurement category experience (media, creative, production, retail marketing, B2B, web design) is a strong plus.

• Solid understanding of overall E2E procurement processes, systems, industry, markets and strategies; Marketing Procurement category expertise preferred.

• Solid negotiation and contracting skills.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Strong prioritization skills, influencing, project management skills.

• Mastery in English and local language, additional Foreign languages skills being a plus.

• Strong business application skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Ariba, RPA etc.).
