Transition Manager- (East, remote)

Description -

The Transition Manager is accountable for starting up new service contracts supporting local and global Commercial-Enterprise complex personal computer environments based in North America (U.S. and Canada).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and transition the customer from their current support contract to the newly awarded statement of work.  This includes starting up all the services defined in the contract, testing them, validating they meet/exceed the customer needs, documenting everything in a playbook, and then handing over the ongoing support to the steady-state governance delivery team using a Change Management framework.  
  • Apply advanced support delivery knowledge to solve complex business issues during the startup initiating phase and is regarded as a subject matter expert in this field following Project Management/Agile practices.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods to drive tool and process improvements.
  • Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors using Six Sigma quality improvement methodologies.
  • Lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
  • Act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
  • Represent the organization to external customers/clients.
  • Exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
  • May provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees and must work well in a collaborative team environment.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years experience in project management or in like roles/businesses.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of key HP Services' operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to project management.
  • Speaks with authority to most layers of depth related to project management methods.
  • Makes use of and contributes to HP s PM Professions community.
  • PMP Certified or in the path of getting the certification.
