As a Data Specialist, your primary focus will be on using your pharmacy knowledge and experience to enter prescriptions and prescriber orders into Kroll.  Along with accurate processing of patient prescriptions, changes and refills you will also be responsible for maintaining and updating patient profiles. You will use your strong communication skills to discuss important information between coworkers and external partners (e.g. physicians/nurses located at the long-term care home), as it relates to the patient/resident prescriptions and their profiles.

We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude and willing to learn new skills. Strong communication skills and time management skills will be important in this fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Retrieve faxed or electronic physician's orders, prescriptions or requests for prescription refills
  • Communicate over the phone with nursing/retirement home staff and patients regularly to clarify orders and obtain information as required
  • Process prescriptions, refills and prescription changes into the patient's record and ensuring billing practices meet legal requirements
  • Create new patient profiles and maintain existing patient records on the MediSystem Kroll database
  • Perform various support tasks as required to ensure compliance with Regulatory bodies

What You'll Need:

  • Pharmacy related diploma/certificate is preferred with a minimum of 1 Year full-time working pharmacy experience
  • Previous pharmacy experience using paperless Kroll is an asset.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Positive attitude
  • Self-motivated with a passion for providing high quality client services and building relationships
  • A team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate through a variety of computer systems quickly
  • Accurate and efficient prescriptions entry skills
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent telephone customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work experience / knowledge with weekly dispensing either in multi-dose packaging or compliance packaging is an asset

This role requires employees to be flexible to work a variety of shifts during the business’ hours of operations.
