RTX is looking to staff a Quality Electronics Engineer on our Relocatable over the Horizon Radar (ROTHR) program. The primary work location for this role is at Freer, Texas.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide technical quality assurance services for the ROTHR Texas Radar System on a contractual basis to a government contract.
  • Provide inspection, monitoring, and reports for the ROTHR system radar contract located in Freer, Texas.
  • Provide quality assurance activities as defined in the Quality Program Plan for the customer with a view toward maximizing effectiveness.
  • Ensure Raytheon services/product will be in accordance with the ROTHR Contract, the ROTHR Quality Program Plan (QPP), quality assurance and control procedures, subcontract specifications, and other ROTHR program directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Will track equipment/documentation changes and coordinate changes/updates between the ROTHR Site Managers and organizations originating changes in accordance with established configuration policy and established documentation controls and procedures.
  • Will maintain the necessary data base(s) to meet quality monitoring and statistical techniques
  • Will provide other Quality Assurance activities (as defined in the Quality Program).
  • Categorize current and historical records of Material Safety Data Sheets and or Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs/SDSs), properly storing chemicals by compatibility, properly disposing of used product/containers or preparing for customer pickup.
  • Review chemicals or hazardous products purchased in accordance with the ROTHR Authorized Use List.
  • Maintain and report metrics on chemical or hazardous product use, solid and hazardous waste management, life safety systems, and employee health testing which meets federal, state and regional guidelines.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, OR in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
  • 2 years of related work experience to include electronics, review and translate schematics, work instructions, safety regulations, and other technical documentation.
  • Previous experience within Quality Assurance to include root cause analyze and corrective action.
  • Previous experience working within the principles, practices, and methods of safety, occupational health, and loss prevention programs.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Two years of experience in hazardous waste, environmental cleanup, or chemical handling operations.
  • Quality and/or Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) experience.
  • Certified or able to obtain OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations (24 or 40 hr. HAZWOPER) certification or equivalent.
  • Functional knowledge and experience using maintenance management information systems and ability to access parts and equipment drawings and configuration systems.
  • Experience of methods of assessing safety hazards and controls;
  • Experience conducting accident investigations and safety inspections;
  • Experience in radar/facilities maintenance quality oversight including implementation of quality programs along with conducting effective assessments and inspections;
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing a comprehensive safety program; training techniques.
  • Ability to investigate and evaluate Quality and EHS issues.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data and complete comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to effectively work with people at all levels of the organization; analyze situations accurately and make timely and effective recommendations; interpret safety and environmental laws, regulations, and quality standards; plan and present safety training
  • Knowledge of laws and OSHA regulations applicable to employee safety and occupational health;
