Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Production Control team (part of Sales & Operations Execution – Surveillance organization) in El Segundo, CA. This critical role will be managing a team of supervisors responsible for the alignment between material availability, production schedule, and contractual requirements in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Shop Floor Control systems. The successful candidate must have effective communication skills, SAP troubleshooting knowhow, an understanding of MRP in a manufacturing environment, aptitude for innovative solutions, and proven leadership skills. The ability to interface with all levels of management from both functional and program will be essential in this job. In this role, the ownership and use of metrics will be key to maintain system health and drive the level of performance that will support customer expectations. The ideal candidate is expected to exude Raytheon’s key values, facilitate conflict resolution, and apply Raytheon process improvement principles in all areas of work.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Set strategic vision, direction and plan to execute on short to medium term program and functional strategies and initiatives

Drive alignment to the financial plan and take direct ownership and responsibility for actions and execution ensure a controlled flow of materials and services

Evaluate program and functional strategy and coordinate tactical and operational solutions

Responsible for evaluating, coaching, and identifying learning opportunities for all team members

Foster collaboration, learning, and sharing knowledge amongst all team members

Organize, coordinate and/or lead training, internal projects, or process improvement initiatives

Ensure materials compliance through the adherence to company rules, policies, guidelines, and audits applicable to the site

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Extensive experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes and/or systems

Extensive SAP knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting skills

Experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related manufacturing engineering ideally in a government contractor environment similar to Raytheon

Deep understanding of the application and concepts of Planning and Production Control fundamentals including MRP, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning, Scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

Must be an effective leader with strong leadership attributes, ability to build a successful team and influence others

Effective communicator (presentation skills, written and verbal communication)

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines and interface with all levels of management from both functional and program

A self-starter, capable of achieving functional and program objectives as well as driving organizational changes and process improvements. 

Proactive problem solver and strong analytical skills with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point

Ability to change behavior and culture through influence and lead by example

Proficiency in developing and delivering effective presentations to Senior and Executive Leaders

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, RapidResponse Kinaxis, Business Warehouse

Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Visio

Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.

The salary range for this role is 123,000 USD - 259,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
