Job Summary:

As a Radar Signal Processing (SP) Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will provide technical direction and guidance for algorithm design, development, prototyping, implementation, and testing of an active radar system. This role will work closely with the team lead/Product Owner (PO) to establish tasking as well as the Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), and other discipline Product Owners in support of a missile system development activity. You will help with designs for mitigating the impacts of wake, clutter, and rain on radar phenomenology.  You will also analyze monopulse characteristics and setup test cases and scenarios to test the antenna coefficients and calibration impacts. You will be involved in running the Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS) and analyzing performance predictions and results to determine if algorithms are behaving and impacting performance as they should.  You will also participate in verification and validation of simulation models.

This position is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will work in a team environment developing software applications.
  • You will decompose program capabilities into actionable features.
  • You will work in an Agile and DevOps development environment.
  • You will demonstrate ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program, customers, and technical leads (IPTs, chief engineers, architects) to ensure product deliverables satisfy their needs.
  • You will provide presentations/documentation to communicate status to program leadership and the customer.
  • You will act with advanced to expert knowledge of signal processing for active radar to support development, execution, and completion of difficult and often complex program objectives.
  • You will use and modify simulations for the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of active radar algorithms and models.
  • You will participate in production, engineering lab, and field test environments to test, verify, and validate radar models and signal processing algorithm performance in accordance with requirements.
  • You will produce documentation related to design and release of software artifacts.
  • You will support verification, validation, and accreditation of related simulation models.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with C++ and/or C.
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Experience with radar signal processing algorithm development and analysis.
  • Experience integrating radar signal processing algorithms in real-time, embedded software systems.
  • Experience running, modifying, and/or evaluating simulations.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or Math.
  • Experience managing or leading others in a technical and/or functional capacity within an engineering environment.
  • Experience with missile components and systems.
  • Experience using UNIX/Linux-based workstations.
  • Good communication, interaction, planning, and time management skills.
  • Experience with Agile scrum
