The AMER Public Sector Operating Unit (PubSec OU) is responsible for the successful sales and delivery of professional services for all U.S. Federal government, state and local, non-profit, education, and Canadian public sector Salesforce customers. We are seeking a Pricing Analyst to augment our business operations team. The individual will drive the creation of the pricing function within Salesforce Public Sector professional services. The Pricing Analyst will centralize and streamline the pricing processes for responding to Public Sector Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The individual will be engaged in providing strategic pricing guidance to win deals via competitive analysis.

The Pricing Analyst is accountable to the Director of Pricing and will support Salesforce’s diverse organization by working within the Pricing Team to deliver a full range of bid pricing, including solutioned, JV, vehicles, task orders, etc.


You will join a team of senior pricer in pricing development – pre-RFP analysis and modeling and price/cost model development (bid case and reason), which can also include assisting the solutioning/staffing mix development, subcontractor rate negotiations, Price/Cost Volume development, and award transition to Program Finance/Ops. This individual will assist in creating a driven database of the history of Salesforce bids to capture better intelligence on future bids.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Years of Experience: At least eight years or more of pricing or finance-related experience in the GOVCON market

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or equivalent education and experience

  • Location: Remote

  • US Citizenship required— No clearance requirement.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Hands-on, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work effectively across departments with internal and external customers.
• Responsible for the development and preparation of assigned pricing responses, working with the Director of Pricing and Collection, Solutions, and Growth teams to develop pricing strategies based on prior experience, current business objectives, and market dynamics.
• Generates cost/price model development, including bid and execution scenarios, for pricing leadership review.

Knowledgeable about the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards(CAS), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP), Forward Pricing Rate Agreements (FPRA), Federal Disclosure Statements, and experience in developing and implementing related practices and procedure
• Works with other internal customers to draft a price proposal response schedule.
• Solicits driven intel from the internal BD Analytics team and works with the Director of Pricing to provide further analysis for bid context and pricing recommendations.
• Builds detailed requests for approval from executive leadership for task order extensions and schedule task order bids.
Works with the Director of Pricing to generate content for iterative pricing reviews with an internal team, including Executive leadership for standalone bids.
• Prepares fully compliant and driven cost and pricing volumes and cost narratives for task order extensions and schedule task order responses.
Supports Pricing Team in developing cost/price model and Volume contents on stand-alone bids. Works with adjacent teams (such as Contracts) to collect and incorporate all required response elements into the final Volume.
• Documents assumptions and risks and provides recommendations for risk mitigation and execution efficiencies.
• Works with the Procurement Team and Director of Pricing to develop subcontractor pricing data calls and support subcontractor rate negotiations.
• This individual will update internal templates and repositories as needed.
• Communicates and promotes all documentation and relevant information related to the pricing structure to the Director of Pricing in written and oral forms as appropriate.
• Strong understanding of contract types (Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus, and Time and Materials (T&M)). and how they impact pricing and execution approaches.
• Great teammate with an interest in expanding experience and skills.
• Strong analytical skills - data analysis, pricing, and planning.
• Familiarity with estimating win concepts and techniques.
• Solid understanding of the government procurement process and contractor proposal responses.
• Ability to read/understand system requirements docs/SOW/CONOPS/PWS, etc.
• Ability to build a set of logical assumptions for each driven target from experience.

Possesses a professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills
Highly proficient in math, advanced finance principles, and desktop applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, Pricing, especially MS Word and MS Excel or MS Database and other pricing tools in the marketplace).

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $97,300 to $133,800.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $97,300 to $133,800.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
