About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

In this role as Director of Product Management, you will drive innovation and strategy for Tableau’s data modeling capabilities. Your work and its impact will span multiple teams and multiple strategic initiatives, balancing delivery of needed capabilities in the BI space, incorporating the latest innovations in GAI, and building integrations into the broader Salesforce portfolio. Your job will require strong communication and partnering skills as you work with many stakeholders to identify opportunities that fulfill customer and strategic needs, make sound technology decisions, and build a strategy and roadmap that informs how we take Tableau into the future.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data modeling features in the context of the overall product and company strategy.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a wide range of partners across Analytics Cloud & Data Cloud, engineering, design, and user research, as well as sales and go-to-market teams.
  • Lead UX, Research and cross-cloud teams through analytics NorthStar ideation.
  • Work cross-team to drive and coordinate changes.
  • Support work throughout the entire development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, feature prioritization and definition, and evangelism (internally and externally) of the features once complete.
  • Evangelize your product/features to both internal and external customer-facing programs and events.
  • Present Tableau product capabilities, vision, value propositions, and roadmap briefings to customers, prospects, the Tableau sales team, and at other public events.
  • Drive improvements to our standard processes and create success metrics for your work.
  • Mentoring others in Product Management as well Tableau and BI skills.
  • Championing our culture and values.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • Extensive experience in product management and hands-on with analytics or data/BI tools. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of Tableau.
  • Customer-focused. You love speaking with customers and learning more about their use cases and you can translate customer needs into product enhancements.
  • Strategic. You consider your features in the context of the overall strategy. You wrangle comfortably with the discomfort of making decisions and having discussions in the absence of complete information. An Evangelist. You are comfortable presenting priorities to internal collaborators, customers, and partners.
  • A self-starter, you are intrinsically motivated and committed to driving projects from start to finish.
  • Technically Savvy. You love software and understand the joys and challenges of the complex building process.
  • Flexible. You are comfortable with open-space problems, where part of the challenge is framing up new challenges for a team excited to tackle them.
  • Team Player. You enjoy collaborating with, learning from, and teaching other folks from multiple fields. You’re comfortable with ambiguous and rapidly changing projects.
  • Thorough. Even in the early phases of a project, you help teams eliminate uncertainties enough that they can proceed with building or studying.
  • Communicator. You have an innate ability to communicate both business and technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • Intellectually Curious. You seek to continuously expand your areas of expertise, learn new ways to do things, and understand why things are the way they are.
  • Data Enthusiast. You have a strong desire to help people see and understand data. You believe in Tableau’s mission and are excited to play a part in it.
  • You are a Recruiter! Salesforce hires company builders, and, in this role, you will be asked to be on the constant lookout for the best talent to bring onboard to help us continue to build one of the best companies in the world!
