Job Summary:

This position is for a seasoned Aero Thermal Fluids Engineering professional and team lead. Designs, develops and tests secondary flow and ventilation systems to address component thermal & clearance requirements. Cutting edge and outside the box thinking is necessary to ensure the secondary air system (SAS) remains lean and efficiency as the cycle requirements are driving the thermodynamic propulsion to competitive levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and tests a secondary flow and ventilation systems.
  • Formulates conceptual design of secondary air system to meet customer requirements.
  • Creates and implements common procedures and standard work across the organization.
  • Works with design, structures and discipline specialists to optimize air system for acceptable bearing loads, part life, and thermal conditioning for clearance control. 
  • Functions as the SSIPT (Sub-System Integrated Product Team) point of contact for all SYSTEMS areas
  • Coordinates between all SSIPT & CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team) to ensure consistency of requirements across programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering and minimum 8+ years prior relevant experience or a Master's Degree in a related field and minimum 5+ years experience.
  • 10% Travel
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
