Position Summary...

What you'll do...

  • Evaluates advertising effectiveness or executes retail strategies for assigned strategic business units by analyzing pre- and post-advertisement release sales data and completing competitive or modular reviews; reviewing customer traffic; providing pre- and post-competitive advertised pricing reports to cross-functional teams ; and collaborating with merchants to review data and identify areas for improvement in future advertisements.
  • Analyzes the performance of the current pricing strategy for low complexity categories with management guidance by reviewing current information on sales, profits, margins, in-stock levels, mark-ups, and mark-downs; utilizing information systems (for example, Merchandise Value Planner (MVP), Retail Link); and maintaining up-to-date statistics based on defined performance metrics.
  • Supports the execution of promotional pricing strategies for assigned strategic business units by collaborating with cross-functional partners (for example, Merchandising, Pricing, Marketing) on creating promotional strategies and events; participating in item selections and pricing validation; validating item information and advertised pricing; evaluating item selections and ensuring consistency and compliance with applicable laws, company philosophy, and pricing strategies; determining necessary changes (for example, additional item varieties, state specific changes); determining solutions to adapt to changing business needs; utilizing systems to enter item data; collaborating with internal teams to ensure system functionality; troubleshooting system issues; ensuring system functionality at store-level and resolving issues.
  • Supports the development of competitive retail pricing strategies for assigned strategic business units or low complexity categories by collaborating with internal teams (for example, Merchandising, Pricing, Planning) to determine pricing strategies; evaluating competition, advertisement frequency, consumer penetration, and item price analysis to facilitate pricing strategies; providing guidance on pricing promotions and competitor strategies; partnering with stakeholders on final selections and price points; developing and modifying retail pricing strategies for each campaign; staying up-to-date on applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding pricing to ensure compliance in promotional pricing; providing guidance to cross-functional teams regarding applicable laws and regulations and their impact on pricing strategies; and staying up-to-date on competitor trends and strategies that could affect pricing strategies.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
